I do miss when everyone was sitting at a table and you could see how much they liked being with others people who did the same job. I know zoom is not the same but maybe leave some pauses between the questions so they might respond to each other and connect more.
I thought it was a shame too that there weren't any interactions between the actresses. I watched the Roundtable with Zendaya, Jen Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and some others and they did talk to each other. That was filmed recently during the Pandemic.
@@lucylamazares4687 Ooh thanks for mentioning, I’m going to look that up!
yeah, this just feels like separate mini interviews intertwined.
couldn't agree more... these zoom roundtables feel so cold compared to the ones before!!!:((
lol
One of the things I admire about Zendaya is how she's able to manage her anxiety. I notice she gets nervous and has anxiety in situations and interviews like these but she still seems to be so strong and doesn't let the anxiety stop her. As someone who has anxiety I difinitely would freeze on the spot and have an anxiety attack or all together just not join the zoom call, lmao, but I admire how Zendaya stays so strong throughout everything. It also inspires me to challenge my introvertness and anxiety as well. She's my biggest role model no joke.
Same here, she's my biggest role model. Thank you for this comment. There's a lot of people in this comment section trying to tear her down and only talk about her being nervous instead of the topics she discussed.
@@cheyennepredium9860 of course no prob!. I don't often comment on any youtube video because I suck at forming sentences to convey my thoughts lmao, but I'm happy I could stand up for daya✨. Like it's so HUMAN to be nervous and have anxiety. We all get nervous at times. crazy how people hate on that and also forget that celebrities are human too.
Totally! She is a force and I too look up to her so much! not only is she an amazing actress (and singer and the list goes on) but such a warm strong and inspiring human being... always telling the stories and amplifying the voices that need to be heard... She is what the world needs✨Just love for Z
Yes, all of this.
Fully agree! She is such a great role model and an overall amazing person (not to mention that she is an absolute gorgeous human being)
It sounds weird that the interviewer is not acknowledging their answers and jumps straight into the next question.
Yeah, she’s a bad interviewer.
These are edited.
Guess it's one of the pitfalls of it being virtual. The actual roundtable was much more conversational.
It’s edited I think
@@Shehroze well then so terrible editing
Kate never misses the chances to appreciate younger and older actresses. She is really an amazing person inside out ❤️
And so beautiful, with such strong features. She just.... there's a lot more to come from Kate Winslet. I think we'll be watching her at every age.
what she said to Glenn was awesome. Glenn looked completely surprised
@@thearabicmusicland time ?😅
I know right! She’s really kind!
@@precociouskid7411 in the last 2 minutes of the video
Bless Carey Mulligan for not being so self-important and saying people (especially within the industry) think they can their artist "genius" as an excuse for bad behaviour." Love her for keeping it real.
Agreed. Was quite taken aback by Winslet and Close's answers to that question but Carey Mulligan really kept it grounded.
Could seriously listen to Kate Winslet talk about acting and character development all day. Absolutely love and respect her.
To everyone saying zendaya is so “nervous” .. yall need to let it go. As someone who also suffers from anxiety , she isn’t nervous. Her anxiety is making her over-think her answers. So she appears nervous but in actual fact she is formulating how she wants her answers to be received
~ edit : For everyone experiencing anxiety or depression or both 🥰 a reminder you’re doing great and look how far you have come with your mental health journey ❤️ be proud of yourself for even the little things x
Exactly. She spoke with such eloquence no matter how nervous she was.
I love her!
Spot on, yes!
Even if she is nervous, who cares. She is an incredible young actress, but she's also human, people can't expect her to not express her human emotions.
@@lauitucomp Right? I’d be nervous if I were sitting with Glenn Close and Kate Winslet too 😬🤪
Zendaya wasn’t saying SHE felt like a businesswoman. It annoyed me that the interviewer did not understand her point.
Yeah same thought. the way the interviewer phrased it as a question to Glenn close who then dismissed the notion, I thought that was unfair to Zendaya.
I think Zendaya was trying to say that there are aspects (aside from acting) that are part of her job.
her answer was super clear: the business side undercuts the creative side and [young] ppl can overlook that glen’s response was cringe af
@Amaya Voir Are you talking about coherence?
she was talking about being a producer and an actress
You can hear the nervousness in zendaya's voice, but I kinda like that. I feel she's growing so much and developing her craft more and more. You can tell how humble she is because how can you not feel intimidated in the presence of these legends. I truly believe she will become a great actress of her generation
When i see Glen Cose, i see Cruela devil.
I see final attraction
@@NYCITY3fatal attraction :-)
@@spidergamelebgdu788 Yes fatal :)
Glenn is amazing in Hillbilly Elegy too.
omfg how did i JUST realize the Deville was Devil LOLLLLLL
Zendaya is right ! These big budget movies and movie studios 95% of the time will pick an actor that’s already well known because they will bring in revenue , they will rarely pick an unknown actor because they don’t have a huge following . Also guys Glen is from a different era , back then they made movies differently so she wouldn’t really understand what Zendaya’s trying to talk about .
You mean there were no contracts? Elaborate please.
Glenn Close and Vanessa Kirby look like they could play a mother-daughter duo in a film!
And that would be a movie that I can't wait to watch it.
Ellen Burstyn played her mom
I hope she gets nominated too
No they dont
@@kreed82 too right I’d be horrified if someone compared me to Close. She looks so weird now. Funny if she’d left her face alone she wouldn’t have had to do hours of hair and makeup in that awful hillbilly film. She would have just looked like that
Glenn Close and Kate Winslet need to be casted together...ASAP!!! And Kate is such an affectionate soul. The bonding in the end just shows that true artists are always grounded!
Nah
Andra Day is a revelation. Love the way she speaks.
This interview has made me really excited to see her portray the iconic Billie Holiday
I heard some songs of her, and she's brilliant, but watching her in this interview, I also like how articulated she speaks. Can't wait to watch her as Billie Holiday
What a gorgeous soul. Can't wait to watch The United States v Billie Holiday.
@@bliss66 Andra Day is a locked nominee at the Oscar.
@@encheknizam not really. viola, carey, frances, and vanessa are locked. it’s andra vs zendaya now
Kate Winslet is amazing in Ammonite. She slays every role she plays. Truly beautiful inside and out.
Yes, she must be nominated for the 8thbtime for this role please sadly its now a Longshot.
Same for saoirse ronan
She could have washed her hair for the occasion.... but yes, she IS amazing.
Exactly!
Kate Winslet and Carey Mulligan are probably the most nicest people in Hollywood. If the energy was like this in a zoom call, I can’t imagine how these women would praise each other in person. Loved this interview.
carey mulligan has the best voice
right!!!
yessss
yeah! her voice sounds very attractive.. =)
KATE WINSLET. that's it.
That’s always been it. ♥️
It took almost 17 minutes for the interviewer to talk to Vanessa Kirby. Wow.
Thought I was the only one who noticed
I have a hard time believing this. It’s more likely because of the editing that Venessa Kirby doesn’t appear properly until 17 minutes in.
I am just waiting and waiting to hear her - at 15:42...
@@AdamC2013 I was with you until I got to 26 mins in and she ends up answering the question about what does everyone get wrong about acting...clearly had an answer in her head and they never got round to her.
Yup I got impatient with the interviewer.
Zendaya looks so cute in this I can't
Like mj hair she looks really young here maybe she is filming Spider-Man rn
Luv her
yes you can
Yes ❤️
Vanessa deserves an Oscar for her performance, she was incredible.
She'll get the nomination!
She got a Golden Globe, SAG and Critics Choice nomination so I'm sensing An Oscar buzz for her
Yes it's the best performance of the year
I agree! Vanessa Kirby doesn't deserve the Oscar, the Oscar deserves Vanessa Kirby. Amen.
Carey Mulligan will win.
The transitions between questions are brutal.. neither the interviewer nor any of them get to reflect on anything said or contribute. It's just a fire-round of questions
Kate Winslet deserves so much more credit for her performance in Ammonite. She really stayed committed to the character all throughout.
YES YES YES
EXACTLY SHE’S A QUEEN
Missed it unfortunately.
L really love this movie
It is ridiculous that Close still needs to campaign to get her Oscar. But you get to appreciate her effort. She is a legend.
She better win. She is long overdue !!!!!!
Oscar for Glenn!
Beyond comprehension Glenn and Annette Benning have not been rewarded. Criminal
fred eric Pathetic.
I can't believe she has no oscar it's disappointing give the damn oscar
As someone who's both shy and struggles with anxiety I just wished I could hug zendaya in the interview you can tell how she feels, she's relatable in every other way
@Ophelia and we love her for not being "perfect"
Awww Zendaya is so cute. I think she was nervous 🌺🌸🌺🌸
I think she was definitely nervous. But she ended up imparting some wisdom, so she should be stoked!
She also looks tired? It's quite different from her video with Carey.
She handled her feeling of nervousness very well, a lot better than I would’ve handled it
Here, for KATE 👑
I love the way that in my mind Kate Winlset is the most elegant and lovely actress, and the fact that she is the only one who cussed this entire interview -more than once- doesn't even change that at all
loved the cussing too *-*
Kate is the one person in Hollywood I would love to sit down and have a beer with, she seems so genuine and down to earth and funny
Carey's voice is so ✨posh✨
Literally can’t believe that she actually talks like that 😂
Kate Winslet usually sounds posh, but she didn't in comparison to Carey.
Sickening
Kate's accent is so impressive
Vanessa deserves all the awards!! One of the most breathtaking performances I've ever seen. That one-shot scene's really stuck on me and just knocked me out..one week later and I'm still..what an acting performance.
Vanessa Kirby is absolutely gorgeous. Honestly she's so beautiful and her performance was stellar
If she doesn’t win an Oscar imma be mad
@@kyrahbrownsimpson9891 thank you !!! she was astonishing. and also, I’d like to
highlight Ellen Burstyn performance. she was also towering.
FYI, when Glenn Close shut down Zendaya speaking of how acting is also a business... Glenn Close was born to wealthy and influential parents. Zendaya was born to a school teacher. All of Glenn Close's answers were dripping with the sort of condescension that a life of unexamined privellege affords.
This
what a bunch of bull...she was the most humble of the lot...get a life...
Yeah, I was kind of confused by her shutting that down... It is still a business... Even if not everyone is built for it....
I think she got a lot better in the last half of the interview. I think she was genuinely impressed by all the women in this roundtable and it started to show more by the end.
It's easy to say weird things sometimes, and that comment was a bit weird. But it's entirely possible the hint of defensiveness that came across was directed at the way the industry overpowers the art unless you protect it, or something more personal to Close, not at Zendaya, herself.
So proud of Zendaya
What an incredible group of women!!
For all of you talking about how nervous Zendaya is.. go watch the round table from August 2020 with Jeniffer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon. THAT was actually a conversation where all of the women were engaged and responding to each other. Unlike this interview where the moderator fired off questions without giving the women a chance to respond to each other. It definitely sets a sort of formal tone rather than the warm, welcoming environment that I saw in the August Round Table that would put people with anxiety (like Zendaya) at ease. Just an observation.
What a refreshing conversation from incredibly talented women
Kate Winslet is an absolute gem, so happy to see her finally return after so long!!!
Kate Winslet talking about the new Hollywood for young women now coming in...She is incredible. The love, precision, and capacity of her spirit and language. Just beautiful.
It’s inspiring seeing Zendaya on here. She’s come so far from Shake it up! ❤️
Glenn close is a national teasure, her carrer and her legacy is extraordinary
the glenn close love in the end 😭💙
Pretty cool, huh? Kate Winslet has always greatly admired older actresses that give themselves permission to age naturally, and she's always been in awe of how much age enriches their work.
flipping heck it took you a long time to get to Vanessa Kirby hahah
True! She even had an answer ready for the first question!
Love Glenn's dog sitting so quietly in the sofa, haha, my spiritual animal
Kate Winslet is beyond brilliant in Ammonite. It's a shame that she didn't get the nomination till now.
It's pretty unlikely that she gets the Oscar nom
She hasn't been nominated for any of the big 3 that have been announced
@@davidao2551 yea I hv less hopes for Oscars too but still hopeful
She’s great but the movie isn’t one of the best of the year so she’ll probably be overlooked because of that.
Get what nomination? She's been nominated for an Oscar 7 times and already won once.
This was interesting because it seems like there’s a level of disconnect for some of the actors at the table when it comes to recognizing the privilege that they have. I understand that acting isn’t easy but venting about how difficult their job is during a time like this seems uncalled for (there are a lot of jobs that have it much, much worse on a daily basis). I’m glad actors like Zendaya highlight their gratitude.
Yeah. Those comments from Kate and Glenn in particular would prove ridiculously tone-deaf even without Corona. Acting may not be easy FOR THEM but when you consider the compensation they receive for working so "hard" their words really just reek of white fragility.
@@Pistolwhipperz I'm glad others are noticing how deeply offensive it is to say "acting is hard" when frontline workers are literally dying and/or surrounded by death every single day. I never thought about Close or Winslet that much either way but this is disgusting.
You should’ve had Amanda Seyfried for Mank and viola Davis for ma rainy’s black bottom
and Olivia Colman.
@@encheknizam Absolutely Olivia Coleman
agree zendaya is everywhere and yet there are much more talented actors out there. that shows that she and her team curated very well the business part lol
I was def missing Viola.
The questions were asked too fast and they barely talked to each other.
With this incredible group of women this shouldn't have been this boring.
Really boring questions.
It’s a consequence of zoom.
I think it's the third interview that I've watched with Vanessa where she mentiones her sister and I find it so sweet and I'm happy she has such a close reltionship with her sister.
Finally another interview in which Kate is in! She’s so kind hearted and beautiful. I hope this pandemic is soon over and we can see face to face interviews with Kate again. ❤️ and I really hope she wins an Oscar for Ammonite, her performance was unbelievable!
These round table videos are always outstanding. Please keep them coming.
Finally, after years of beggining in the comments section, we got a female "Acresses Roundtable" moderator
Yes, finally.
there has been one i forgot her name though
there was one last year in the one where laura dern and jlo were in
Lacey Rose?
@@pandatotoro yes her
I adore Carey Mulligan & Vanessa Kirby. They have to do a film together!
Kate Winslet performance deserves so much more!!! Ammonite is just glorious
Andra day was always a star but now she’s on her way to being a superstar!
This roundtable was great because everyone was given enough time to answer the questions without being cut off or interrupted. I hope more of the roundtables are like this one.
Genuinely one of the best round tables. Great line up. Great conversation. Nothing cringey. Loved it
Please never stop making these roundtables, it is so inspiring as an aspiring actress to see and hear! :) ! Thank you!
The way they answered these questions is so articulate and so motivating. I tear up with their answers. 😢🙏
Each of these women are so gifted and lovely. I miss these conversations in person, but I'm glad we still have them in this format, different though it may be.
Any reason why Vanessa Kirby was ignored for the first 15 minutes? No idea who she is anyway but I just found it a bit odd.
She has starred in the crown, the fast and the furious and mission impossible
if you think she's ignored wait until you see Christoph Waltz in the roundtable with Nolte Clooney Plummer and Oldman, He must have sat there and stayed silent for what felt like an hour
Her earlier answers likely got edited out.
Steven Yuen didn’t talk in the Actor’s roundtable in like the first 30 minutes
Vanessa Kirby is DIVINE 👑
Oh I loooooved this interview with such amazing actors and amazing people!!! Hugs ladies!!
This was such a wonderful conversation and a great set of thoughtful questions.
Zendaya is incredible person.
How? She just lied saying she paid “everyone” that worked in “M&M” bonuses when that wasn’t true. Someone that worked on set spoke out about it and zendaya team came after her. How is that being an incredible person?
By incredible, you mean incredibly overrated, then yes.
I really like Zendaya, I remember a couple of years ago when she was ridiculed for wanting to play a part in a movie. Her journey is just interesting to watch.
So much HONESTY! So moved by everyone. xoxo
What a group of extraordinary women 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 such a treat to hear them speak on their experiences and their career. Thank you for the gift of your knowledge 🙌🏽
I love Vanessa Kirby and Carey Mulligan. All of them are great, really. It's great to see Zendaya there too. This has been one of my favourite roundtables.
It took 16 minutes to acknowledge Vanessa’s presence and ask her a question.
That’s really sad :/
It took 3 minutes. Pay attention
@@danijela7247 I did. That's Carey speaking @ minute 3. The first question for Vanessa is @ 16:39.
7 minutes . Stop keyboard warriors with your divisive manners.
@@AngelWings1983 that’s Andra not Vanessa though
What a gathering of amazing women talking about her craft. Wonderful!
What a line up!! Incredible actresses.. all of them.
This women are so incredible, and they all answered with extreme veracity, which I really appreciate. I wish there were an Asian actress on the panel as well though!!!
Amazing loved hearing all of you speaking. very much enjoyed how they all connected and supported each other.
Kate, amazing all around my favourite actress of your generation! Naturally talented. Love to all of you.
What a line-up!
Ohhhh I wish this were in person!
Zendaya in some fantastic company there.
I disagree with Glenn! I do think anyone with a real life experience can create art of any kind. You need hard work, resilience and that’s about it. Take rejection in your stride and move forward if acting is truly your passion.
Mind blowing show...
Keep it up.....
I'm in love with Vanessa's eyes and voice
Vanessa's performance was amazing.
Yes Kate Winslet!!! loved that empowering speech!!
I loved the interview ❤️. Thank you you all for allowing me to get to know you all just a little bit.
Kate Winslet--love the sound of her voice.
It’s what I was waiting for
She did it well to start with Kate cause she is the queen of Titanic the most awarded film of Hollywood
agree to that❤
Really enjoyed this 🙏🏼
What a group!!👏👏👏
"I work so I can come back home", Instantly sobbing. I love you Glenn Close.
Staggering comment. She is GOLD
Kate always looks forward to compliment and help you get actresses❤️ A woman with a real heart
Great conversation, thanks
They’re all so sweet I love this
GO CAREY MULLIGAN this is your year!!!
I really hope she wins! 🤞🏽
Loved Andra and what she had to say @ 32:59. Very eloquently said!
I loved this!!! So many great voices
Love this moderator, she asked some great questions!
