Watson: "The problems of your past are your business. The problems of your future are my privilege." At the end of the last episode Sherlock promised to be there for John and Mary no matter what, he clearly honoured that promise. We absolutely loved this season. Loved Mary. Loved her and John together. Loved Sherlocks parents. So many twists and turns. So much brain joy. Thank you guys for following us on this adventure, and of course don't miss the Special and season 4 because we are so excited to record those and discover which villain is waiting for our heroes.
Weird Easter Eggs from an Irene Adler nerd -- the single red rose you see in Sherlock's hospital room, when John and Lestrade notice he's gone is meant to be from her. Also, she's listed as one of Sherlock's pressure points, meaning Magnusson knew about her and potentially that she was still alive.
First episode just after John finds out Mycroft is Sherlock's brother Shelock says "You can imagine the Christmases." And John was like "yeah... God no." Fast forward to this episode... lol
I absolutely agree with you, Rob. The world doesn't need more Marvell, it needs more Sherlock. I guess money wise and fame wise it's better to be in Hollywood movies but seriously from the point of view or real art, real cultural value Sherlock tv-show is in times and times better than any movie these 2 actors were so far.
Yeah the character relationships are so real, touching and grounded in reality. Marvel is probably great entertainment (will try them one day maybe) but this show just hit all the right notes :)
even tho I agree that Sherlock is like pretty much the best it gets acting wise in almost any tv show (and film production in general) I’ve seen so far I gotta say I love Cumberbatch as Dr Strange in Marvel🙏🏻 really can’t wait for Multiverse of Madness .. hope it’s getting an R- Rating tho and his other work is in my opinion awesome as well. He’s just such a good actor.. I mean his performance in Electrical Life of Louis Wain broke me same for The Imitation Game .. man.. And I really loved Freeman‘s performance in season 1 of Fargo 😂 holy shit! This show is so strange, has such a dark humor that just really works well with Freeman‘s dry and sarcastic humor he has in real life😂 I swear this man has no filter
Great reactions with clever remarks! Again. Now that I know you rewatch the episode again, with knowing what you know by now, you'll notice the things you've missed, like when they are in Magnussen's office and Sherlock smells the parfum and Watson remarks 'Mary wears it", but it's kind of ignored. In fun non-spoiler trivia, de young boy playing young Sherlock is Louis Oliver, the son of writer Steven Moffat. Martin Freeman got really tired of being flicked in the face so many time, but they had to do it over and over again, he really hated that scene cause it hurt so much. Poor man. Well, he did win an Emmy so maybe that could make up for it. This episode won many Emmy's and other awards, as did the special, so that's something to be excited about. Looking forward to watch both your reactions.
Yeah a nice little detail with the perfume :) and yeah the flicking scene was painful to watch so I can imagine being the one getting flicked in the face :(. Can't wait to watch the next one for sure :D
I love your reactions, hello from Russia! I just want to say don't set too high expectations for season 4. My friends and I agree that it has a different atmosphere (very personal, not focusing on detective cases), weird twists and quests and it's a very far departure from the original Conan Doyle stories, but the season looks visually stunning. Despite this, Sherlock is my favorite show in the world and I'm still waiting for the release of season 5)) sorry for grammar mistakes:)
What an amazing episode. Everyone opens up and shows their real face - Sherlock, John, Mary. I enjoyed seeing more of Sherlock/Benedict's parents. What a nice old couple. And Sherlock's girlfriend! Did you notice she mentioned bees? Do you know what it means? :-) Amazing scenes with Moriarty when Sherlock was fighting for his life. Moriarty's actor is so cool. Villain also was played perfectly disgusting! And Rob was finally rubbing his eyes! Love your reaction, Rob and Trin. Christmas episode is awesome, can't wait to see you watching it.
@@robtrinreact2825 I believe her mentioning the bees is a hint that Sherlock and her will end up living together (married?) when they are old. In the 1926 story “The Adventure of the Lion's Mane” (one of the stories by Arthur Conan Doyle) we discover that Sherlock Holmes has left London and retired to the English countryside where he's taken up beekeeping. Hollywood even made a movie about very-very-very old Sherlock Holmes at times of his beekeeping (haven't seen it myself but want to.)
Hopefully it will be very very soon :) this whole journey started specifically to get to the next episode, and so far we are not regretting the whole thing

Writers of Sherlock tv-show are some really smart, wise and talented fellows! Actor who is playing Micraft (Sherlock's brother) is one of the main writers and I love Microft for this even more! People tend not to comment how well he is playing Sherlock's older brother but he is great in it as well as in writing.
Yeah i know him from the british sitcom "The League of Gentlemen". He is a co-writer for that also and plays a large variety of characters, guess I never really comment on his acting cause I already know he is such an amazing character actor :)
@@robtrinreact2825 I went to see Mark Gatiss in his production of 'A Christmas Carol' at the slowly-being-renovated Alexandra Palace Theatre in between Christmas and New Year. He adapted it and played Jacob Marley. A really good show in quite a spooky old building. Hell of a trudge up the hill from the station if you have a bad back . . .
The reason Sherlock waits and lets Magnusson abuse John is because he had to have witnesses because he knew he was going to kill Magnusson with John's gun and he had to make sure John wasn't a suspect.
I like how villain casually announced the theme of this episode in the very beginning - "I have an excellent memory". And I bet Arthur Conan Doyle didn't know he wrote a great series about strong male friendship! Show writers found the right angle to show it all. Watson became everyone's baby, people are caring the most about Watson and his feelings - Mary does, Sherlock does. Watson is an emotional center of the show now.
makes sense for him to be the character we care for so much emotionally when we remember that the original stories are written completely from his point of view☺️ and yes I can only imagine how hype the Sherlock fan’s were back then every time Doyle dropped a new Sherlock Holmes story! Damn .. and how desperate they were when he killed Sherlock off😂 omg🤭- bet you the fan‘s raging made the newspapers back then and Doyle was like „well I better bring him back“.. but yeah kind of crazy when you realize how old the source material actually is and how many fans it had, still has and will have- this is the definition of „a timeless classic“

It's a very important scene and it's one of my favourites of the series! ❤ The special is not really stand-alone. The placement in the series is important. Oh yeah that section in the episode where Sherlock got shot was absolutely gripping. This show has its flaws, but when it's good, even the likes of breaking bad and the sopranos struggle to match it for sheer viewing pleasure. Even when it's not at it's best, the character dynamics keep it together and still make for an excellent experience.

In the novels Sherlock injected himself with cocaine when he didn't have a case occupy his mind. He also at times used other drugs.

Magnussen is played by Lars Mikkelson, brother of Mads Mikkelson (Hannibal) 😊

can't wait for season 4, that season was very polarizing (half of the fandom loved it, the other half hated it) i'm one of those who loved it :>
I was meh, but rewatching it got better and better
The mission that Sherlock was being sent on at the end was a death sentence; you can hear Mycroft explain that when they're out smoking together.
