Nat, it's a shame you missed one crucial line from Mycroft--the Eastern Europe assignment was a death sentence, within no more than six months. So when Sherlock is leaving, only he and Mycroft know he's never coming back. You were supposed to hear all the goodbye speeches with that in mind, so you could appreciate the difference between what Sherlock is saying, and what John is hearing....
I THOUGHT there was a line about this in this episode. Also, when Natalie said “I knew they were wearing the same belt” (meaning the Major in the first episode) and the other guy who got stabbed as a ‘rehearsal’ anyone who hasn’t watched the show before would be SUPER confused. I love nats reactions but I do feel her usual reaction videos of three to four episodes of a 20 minute show in one video don’t really work for Sherlock which is 90 minutes an episode. So much is lost if you haven’t seen it before
Yeah, been a while since I watched it so it is a bit weird the parts she skips bc I have to reconstruct in my mind what happened in the interim, specially when she chops up conversations and I'm not completely sure what she's reacting to
The wedding episode is probably my favourite Sherlock episode. It's adorable, it's a great mystery, I love how loyal Sherlock and Watson are to each other -- Sherlock tries to make sure his day goes as perfectly as possible, Watson immediately understands and is ready to go when Sherlock starts signalling that something's wrong, they understand each other perfectly. It's a fantastic episode all around, and it hits you right in the fuzzies.

He likes to show how easily people can be manipulated by 'psychics', advertising companies, and so on. Do check out his stuff, it's really fun. The bonfire is for November 5th, Guy Fawkes night. (V for Vendetta is based on Guy Fawkes, not the other way around.) Guy Fawkes (Guido Fawkes) was a member of a Catholic group who tried to blow up the House of Lords in 1605. He was discovered sitting on a barrel of gunpowder, waiting for his conspirators to show up. Guy Fawkes night commemorates his capture, with fireworks and the "burning of the guy" - burning a dummy (usually made of straw stuffed into an old shirt and pants) on a bonfire.
Natalie watching Derren Brown specials would be SUCH an amazing 'first time' series - that actually might end up being an all time favourite YT series for me
This series has a surprisingly enjoyable re-watchability to it. Once you know how things unfold, you can just enjoy the characters more and often catch little details you missed the first go around.
I find comments like this baffling. You could not pay me to watch this garbage again. Literally one of the most infuratingly stupid, garbage shows I have ever watched. I do not understand how anyone can like this sizzling pile of hot dogshit. And then to enjoy rewatching it? Why? So the obvious plot holes, the vapid writing, the complete failure to understand the character, and the utter lack of any mystery or deduction becomes even more obvious? This series has zero rewatchability and I generally recommend people not start with it at all, because it goes from a mediocre first season to absolutely unwatchable dogshit by the third season, and then the fourth season is basically just the show runners shoving a handful of shit into your face and laughing at how stupid they think you are.
I must confess, I rewound and watched the part with Sherlock bungeeing into the window, fluffing his hair, and kissing Molly an unhealthy number of times. 🤣
That scene was actually taken from one of the fan theories. Every piece of paper in Anderson's room is in fact a fan theory or one of the rewrites from the writers. The first version we see is a combination of one writers idea and two scenes taken from two different fan theories. The entire theory part of the episode is one big fan tribute
The whistle John gave when pointing at Sherlock's head was just Martin trying to make Benedict laugh! "I can't believe they kept that in! That me just trying to make Ben laugh."
Season 3 of Sherlock holds a special place in my heart. It's the one that makes me laugh hardest, cry hardest, and smile hardest. The Sign of Three in particular is a personal favourite. Full of heart and humour as you'd expect in a wedding episode (Benedict and Martin play superb drunks 🤣), but with the trademark wit and clever mystery that makes this show so damn engaging. Hope you enjoy The Abominable Bride and series 4! Episode 2 of that one is absolutely top tier...
Fun fact - Martin Freeman and Amanda Abbington, who played Mary, were partners in real life at the time. This was near the end of that, if I recall. Them splitting up in reality sort of broke my wife's crush on Martin. Not that there's any specific reason she blamed him, but she was a big Amanda fan.
hilariously enough, the way they met was almost exactly the same as john and sherlock. they both complained about being single to a friend who set them up and they hit it off.
Sign of Three is such an amazing episode, and Sherlock not getting to dance at the end is such a gut punch. Thanks for reminding me I’m overdue to rewatch it.
The sign of three is my 2nd favourite episode behind Scandal. Sherlock’s best man speech and the sequences in between are some of the best pieces of television ever made.
fun fact - the guy who hypnotises john in the fake out intro is derren brown - a wildly popular "mentalist" in the uk who is somewhat of a national treasure, so having him make a cameo was WILD to see watching it when it first aired haha (also thinking it was a reference to v for vendetta is giving the same energy as people who think school houses and prefects were made up for hogwarts - honestly iconic)
The acting in this series, particularly this season, is phenomenal. Martin Freeman's face is so incredibly expressive. First, the scene in the restaurant blows me away every time I see it, and also when Sherlock reveals Mary to John and turns on the light.
The Wedding Episode is my favourite of the whole show. I love the wholesome moments of Sherlock's speech and the way they edited in the flashbacks to flow with his speech is so good. I love how when it seems almost like an anthology episode, they suddenly drop the penny that all of the anecdotal stories are linked to the murder plot happening in the present.
The reason the departure was so dramatic and they didn’t think they’d see each other again was because they didn’t think he’d survive the mission. Hence why they let him off the hook for the murder.
Eeeeeeee! So excited to watch this. You gotta imagine it's been 2 SOLID years of endless speculation and theorising about the new episodes...shipping of every character you could possibly imagine...the fanfic..the fanart...we knew how the original stories handled Sherlock coming back so we had ideas, we'd seen them filming a wedding..we knew Amanda Abbington had been cast as Mary (she was Martin Freeman's real life partner at the time they were together for ages and have 2 kids, but they broke up), they couldn't film in some locations without heaps of people there watching (especially where they filmed Baker Street) half the cast and crew were active on twitter during that time, i still follow the set designer he's great 🤣, we got teased the names of the episodes like some crazy puzzle (all episodes are the same as/slight changes to original stories e.g The Empty House became The Empty Hearse) it was a LOT and absolute insanity clearly could not go unnoticed to the point of it influencing the opening of the show but it was brilliant! 🤣
I rewatched the series at least 5 times. It wasn’t enough, now I’m watching you watch it for the first time. Feels like sharing it with a friend…… that doesn’t know you’re there, but that’s ok. 👍🏼 Thanks for what you do. May your views and likes always be equal.
I loved your reaction to series, Natalie. Please consider, 'The Night Manager' from 2016 starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, and/or 'Luther' from 2010 with Idris Elba, both are excellent series you won't be disappointed with either.
@@ameliacraiig4193 Thank you, I think so too, 'The Night Manager' should be better known, it deserves much more recognition. I love both of these series, I think that Natalie would too.
This is great timing, I literally just finished watching Abominable Bride on your Patreon, and the very first thing that comes up when I jump on UA-cam is this.
The guy who hypnotised Watson is Derren Brown a irl mentalist/entertainer, so when us Brits saw that we were all like 'yeah ok...' 😂 besides the action hero window bit obvs! Haha
DUUDE There was SOO MUCH SPECULATION!!!! People where driving themselves nuts with the ending of season one!! I love that they did that part with the guy trying to sort out what happened. =P
It is always great seeing Derren Brown. The renowned US psychiatrist Milton Erickson was famous for his Sherlock Holmes like observation skills. He would notice women were pregnant before they knew it themselves. In one of his papers he spoke about when one of the nurses walked past his office and he noticed she was pregnant before she had realised due to changes to how she walked, how her body had started to change etc.
This season was amazing, i love how The Hobbit filming was sheduled arround the filming of Sherlock so that the filming of Sherlock episodes were unaffected, to be able to still dfilm Sherlock was a requirement for Martin to play the part of Bilbo
The goodbye was real. But then Moriarty came back, and he was needed elsewhere. He was saying goodbye because he didn't expect to survive his mission to Eastern Europe.
Having read the Sherlock Holmes books and stories before seeing the show makes me appreciate the brilliant screenplay writing. Every episode is a modern twist of one of the old stories which were set during the late 1800’s.
I honestly believe the real reason the show runners never told us how Sherlock actually survived is because they couldn’t think of one that would satisfy audiences. It’s like with Lost, how the show runners never planned that far ahead so they used the “mystery box” writing technique, which is just lazy storytelling.
Well, they never planned the solution for the first cliffhanger (Moriarty in the swimmingpool with the bomb) and still they managed to get away with it. Ofcourse with a big thankyou to Moffat's wife who came up with the idea of the loud ringtone to distract everyone. No shame in there. And I like to believe Anderson the only one who knows what really happened. Also, we get a lot of adventures, mysteries, puzzles, twists, humor, angst, drama poured in only 13 episodes in total, and almost everyone (well, not you ofcourse) loves it, and you call that lazy storytelling? Point me to another series with only so few episodes where you get all of this high quality and so much loved by so many people and I'll will congratulate you on the find.
I think it has to do with one of Sherlock's catch-phrases. "Once you've eliminated the impossible, whatever is left, however improbable, must be the truth." In this case, there were many ways Sherlock could have survived. What was important was it could be done. It didn't matter which one in particular, because there are multiple solutions that could not be eliminated as impossible. So leaving it vague, so the viewer can choose the more fanatical or the more mundane solution, was the right solution for me. Especially since the episode was focused on the relationship of the leads, not the mechanics of the magic trick.
@@channyh.221B the majority of Sherlock fans agree that the show fell of in terms of quality after season 2. You want proof? How about the fact Watson throughout the vast majority of seasons 3 and 4 is nothing more than Sherlock’s sidekick rather than what he was in seasons 1 and 2 as well as the source material as his PARTNER. He just keeps getting walked on throughout this and next season.
@@thedarkknight2221 Not the majority of Sherlock fans, just the loud ones, I know, I was on tumblr and twitter in those days. They screamed hate and attacked the writers and actors of the show. It was vile. Yet everyone who came late in this show and missed all that, they find this show great till the end. As you've noticed, even Nathalie is still enjoying it to the core. Just deal with the fact it's still loved by many of us, who watched it back in the days and who are discovering it just now. Also, what you've given me was not proof, it was your opinion.
YAY!! i didn’t realize how much i would look forward to seeing these uploads in my feed but every video is such a wave of nostalgia. high school me was utterly obsessed with this show and these characters. i still love them to fake death 🥹
Hey Nat if you want a Sherlock show to watch after this one I highly recommend Elementary with Johnny Lee Miller & Lucy Liu. It’s set in modern day like Sherlock, but in New York City and new twists on character dynamics.
I really love how they did the scene when Sherlock got shot by Mary. How he uses he uses his mind palace to save himself but more than that, he is using his personification of all the people he loves and cares about (and Moriarty) to tell him what to do which gives a really nice insight into how he has changed over the course of the series and that he is capable of human connection. It's also a great way to get Andrew Scott back to be Moriarty even after his suicide, well that is until the very end of the episode! You'll have to see what comes of that. (Very happy to see other comments saying you did react to the Abominable Bride because it is 100% part of the main plot of the show even though it is a special (I'd call it S3 E4 personally).
It just occurred to me a year or so ago that John was a bad doctor. That's why in this extreme moment in Sherlock's life, when he's looking for medical people to help him, John doesn't appear. He sees Molly and Anderson with some comment from his brother. Strange since John was a 'field medic'. The last seasons have shown John just isn't that good of a doctor. No wonder Sherlock's consciousness turns elsewhere.
A little information: On at least two occasions, this season is relying on information from William S. Baring-Gould's 1962 fictional "biography" of Holmes, Sherlock Holmes of Baker Street. It was Baring-Gould who invented the idea that Watson's middle initial "H" stood for Hamish, to account for the one time in the original series that his wife addresses him as "James" rather than "John"'; Hamish is the Scottish form of James, so Mrs. Watson would simply have been calling her husband by the anglicized version of his middle name. And Baring-Gould came up with Holmes' full name being William Sherlock Scott Holmes because, in The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton, Holmes uses the alias William Escott (William S. Scott). Incidentally, Baring-Gould assigned January 6 as Holmes' birthday, because, at least in some traditions, January 6 is Twelfth Night, and the only literary work that Holmes quotes twice in the original stories is Twelfth Night, so Baring-Gould reasoned that the title of that play must have had a special significance for him. One wonders what Holmes would have thought of such reasoning.
I saw that Magnusson guy and was like "Mads?" Nope, it was Lars Mikkelsen. I knew there was a reason he reminded me of Mads, though. Both intense-looking dudes. It's cool that cumberbatch has been in films with both brothers. Watching you react to these was a super fun ride. Look forward to S4!
Fun Fact: Every piece of paper in Anderson's room is either a fan theory or a rewrite from one of the writers. The first explanation we get from Anderson is a combination of one writer's idea and two scenes from two different fan theories. The explanation Sherlock gives to Anderson is the last version of the real explanation they came up with before giving up and going with the fan tribute idea instead. The original explanation they came up with was deemed not good enough once they saw all the fan theories. Even after 8 months of rewrites they couldn't come up with something that would make everyone happy and live up to the fan theories, so instead they chose to do a fan tribute. Fans who came up with some of the most popular theories were contacted for permission to include their theories and then later interviewed about their experience
Thanks for this shot of nostalgia! Really takes me back to my uni days when I was obsessed with Sherlock as it came out. My friend group chat blew all the way up at the finale! Good times :)
The scene at the plane was so dramatic because it was a lifelong job it was mentioned earlier. Mycrofts estimate was how long Sherlock can survive doing the mission.
The wedding episode might be my favorite too, but the scene where Watson is talking to/about Sherlock's new girlfriend is some of the funniest acting I've ever seen. It gets me every damn time.
I completely understand the obsession, I'm currently mid exams and I binged season 3 and 4 can't wait for Nat to react to season 4. Also isn't there a bonus episode for season 3?
If you haven’t seen it, you should check out the pairing of Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as ‘Holmes and Watson’ in the 2012 - 2019 Series: ‘Elementary’. Set in New York, Holmes, is of course, intuitively brilliant, but flawed, as a recovering drug addict and other vices. We find him, as a Crime Consultant, assisting the NYPD. Dr. Watson (Liu) ultimately enters his orbit. In my humble opinion, ‘Elementary’ far exceeded the BBC offering that you currently enjoy.
oiiii i hoped you’d watch many happy returns which is like 7 min vid on youtube - maybe as a flashback bonus with the abominable bride? 🤓 i love amanda abbington in this so much, by season 4 sherlock really became a family show, ie many actors are related to the og cast and crew in one way or another 😄
Episode 1 isn't a reference to V for Vendetta, it's about Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up Parliament which is remembered in the UK on the 5th of November on Guy Fawkes night / Fireworks night / Bonfire night, when you get fireworks and bonfires across the country. V for Vendetta is also referencing the same thing.
10:50 Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot, I know of no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot. People are burning a Guy Fawkes Strawman every November 5th. To quote from Wikipedia: Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Fireworks Night, is an annual commemoration observed on 5 November, primarily in Great Britain, involving bonfires and fireworks displays.
I have never felt more connected to you than during your reaction(s) to this season. My wife and I had the exact same reactions at the same time you did, but when these were first broadcast (makes me feel old!!!).
Quick explanation as to why it was unlikely Sherlock and John would ever see each other again: When Mycroft first mentions the job in Eastern Europe, he tells Sherlock that he would like him to decline it because he believes it would prove fatal to Sherlock in 6 months. That’s why when John asks how long he’ll be in Eastern Europe, Sherlock says “6 months. My brother’s estimate. He’s never wrong.” Sherlock was supposed to be permanently exiled from England, but he would have died on that mission in Eastern Europe. He just doesn’t tell John that to spare him.
I might have mentioned this in the previous Sherlock reaction, but it needs to be stated that each episode is based on a story being told by Watson, months or years after the fact. When we see words and illustrations on the screen when Sherlock is figuring things out, that's how Watson imagines it and tells it, not what Sherlock actually sees. With very few exceptions, Sherlock Holmes stories are told from Watson's perspective with his (or her, if you're in New York) ideas about how things work.
I fucking love how the initial scene progresses after his reveal, with the location progressively getting worse and sharlock getting progressively more injured.
Just me skipping through a sponsor intro like I always do for anyone when I land on “thanks so much for watching the sponsor, it really helps a lot.” God damnit Nat. Fine. I will. I’m glad you like your Helix. 😂
11:29 - "V For Vendetta" references an actual celebration every year on the 5th of November called 'Bonfire Night' (or Guy Fawkes Night/Fireworks Night) which commemorates capturing the terrorist Guy Fawkes (that's who the mask in 'V For Vendetta' is based on) after he tried to use barrels of gunpowder to blow up parliament with the King inside. Every year on the evening of the 5th, people in the UK set off fireworks, attend firework displays, light sparklers and set bonfires alight with effigies of Fawkes on top (and it some places, effigies of the Pope or politicians they don't like). It is from this 'Gunpowder plot' which we get the famous rhyme: "Remember, remember the Fifth of November, Gunpowder, treason and plot; I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot". 'V For Vendetta' flipped this meaning to have Fawkes as a heroic freedom fighter going against a tyrannical government, rather than him being a literal terrorist. So no, Sherlock didn't reference the film V For Vendetta. The film referenced an British tradition
The reason why the ending was so dramatic with the goodbyes was because it wasn't a 4 month estimated mission, it was a 4 month estimation for the time before Sherlock would be killed there, I'm pretty sure mycroft opted for that because at least it gave Sherlock a chance to survive.
I really enjoyed season 3. It’s fun. Plus I also got to watch filming for the season opener so saw all the filming of the fall aftermath. They also filmed a fake scene between Mycroft & Moriarty to throw all of us watching off! I have videos from filming on my you tube channel.
Outside of a few episodes of Supernatural and Monk, The Sign of Three is one of the most delightfully funny television episodes that consistently makes me crack up no matter how many times I see it.
Mads was also in , imo, one of the great procedurals to come down the pike along wih Broadchurch, Happy Valley, Unforgotten, and Broen/Bron, Forbrydelsen...Moffatt and Gatis worked on the revived Doctor Who...Season is Yank for series...
Before you start season 4 btw you MUST watch The Abominabl Bride!! It was a stand-alone episode that air in between the seasons (let's not forget it was 3 years between them) and not only it's fantastic but it is part of the story! Don't skip!
"Do you feel a creeping, shrinking sensation, Watson, when you stand before the serpents in the Zoo, and see the slithery, gliding, venomous creatures, with their deadly eyes and wicked, flattened faces? Well, that's how Charles Augustus Milverton (Magnussen in the show) impresses me. I've had to do with fifty murderers in my career, but the worst of them never gave me the repulsion which I have for this fellow." Sherlock Holmes, The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton.

The sign of three is my 2nd favourite episode behind Scandal. Sherlock’s best man speech and the sequences in between are some of the best pieces of television ever made.
Same!
fun fact - the guy who hypnotises john in the fake out intro is derren brown - a wildly popular "mentalist" in the uk who is somewhat of a national treasure, so having him make a cameo was WILD to see watching it when it first aired haha
(also thinking it was a reference to v for vendetta is giving the same energy as people who think school houses and prefects were made up for hogwarts - honestly iconic)
I love being following Nat for so long to be able to know that she streaming instead of recording is the most Nat thing she could've done
I misread the text as “START SCREAMING”, so I didn’t think anything was unusual when she clicked that instead of “start recording”.
@@mmattson8947 😱😱😱
7:20 my favorite scene in the whole series 🤣Sherlocke's French accent. "My parsonal racommendacione"
I am glad she is this much obsessed with Sherlock as much as I am.
“Is this a reference to V for Vendetta” Natalie it’s a reference to Guy Fawkes’ attempt to blow up parliament
Very funny
The reason the departure was so dramatic and they didn’t think they’d see each other again was because they didn’t think he’d survive the mission. Hence why they let him off the hook for the murder.
35:44 My favorite moment of the entire series. John asks the question I've been asking since the first episode.
Thanks for what you do. May your views and likes always be equal.
Nat reviewing Sherlock has been SO damn funny!
My favorite part of all of this is from 0:30 on where you can see her eyeballs frantically trying to contact her brain.
I loved your reaction to series, Natalie. Please consider, 'The Night Manager' from 2016 starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, and/or 'Luther' from 2010 with Idris Elba, both are excellent series you won't be disappointed with either.
Yes & yes to that!!! You've reminded me that I'm due a re-watch of The Night Manager. This and Luther are brilliant top-tier TV too.🖤
@@ameliacraiig4193 Thank you, I think so too, 'The Night Manager' should be better known, it deserves much more recognition. I love both of these series, I think that Natalie would too.
The wedding episode is by far my favourite , Also John and Mary were together in real life.
Strong relate to Natalie just wanting nice things for John the whole time 🤣🤣
This is great timing, I literally just finished watching Abominable Bride on your Patreon, and the very first thing that comes up when I jump on UA-cam is this.
Brother Bear - an animated, heavily native-themed movie with such pure connotations
The stag night has always been my absolute favourite part with those two
Nah, Watson has the best love life with Sherlock. Never a dull moment together.
The dramatic nature of Sherlock is part of the reason why I think it is such a fun show!
This season was amazing, i love how The Hobbit filming was sheduled arround the filming of Sherlock so that the filming of Sherlock episodes were unaffected, to be able to still dfilm Sherlock was a requirement for Martin to play the part of Bilbo
So excited to see nat’s reaction to season four. The ending was so hated people thought there was a secret episode to replace the ‘fake’ last ep.
Your obsession is real. Mine too. I even went to see him in the theatre in London after the end of Sherlock. It was spectacular.
The goodbye was real. But then Moriarty came back, and he was needed elsewhere. He was saying goodbye because he didn't expect to survive his mission to Eastern Europe.
How excited can Natalie get during a reaction video?!
Well I believe this Sherlock triple bill provides the answer! :)
Having read the Sherlock Holmes books and stories before seeing the show makes me appreciate the brilliant screenplay writing. Every episode is a modern twist of one of the old stories which were set during the late 1800’s.
You physically running away is exactly how I’d react and I laughed way too hard. So happy to be a lil golden nugget and sad I missed the live 🤣
"Once you've eliminated the impossible, whatever is left, however improbable, must be the truth."
In this case, there were many ways Sherlock could have survived.
Me, when I read the title: welcome to the fandom ❤
Lets all agree that this is the best reaction channel :)
what about yaboyroshi??
YOU'RE NOT MY SUPERVISOR!
Yes, but for me, Badd Medicine and Cocoa Couch are right up there too
Yes. Nat and Ashleigh Burton tied for first place. Nobody else is even close. Everybody else is unwatchable in my opinion.
Not close
YAY!! i didn’t realize how much i would look forward to seeing these uploads in my feed but every video is such a wave of nostalgia. high school me was utterly obsessed with this show and these characters. i still love them to fake death 🥹
Your reaction to Sherlock kissing Molly at 4:15 should be made into a short - - I've watched it a dozen times at least. ;)
You ARE a genius! Good catch on the photographer!
That wedding speech hits harder the more times you watch it. It takes quite a lot to get enough of it. It is quite something.
This show is a masterpiece, I hope they make more episodes because there's so much more myth AND technology they can put into the storylines!
Hey Nat if you want a Sherlock show to watch after this one I highly recommend Elementary with Johnny Lee Miller & Lucy Liu. It’s set in modern day like Sherlock, but in New York City and new twists on character dynamics.
The wedding episode is my favorite episode. I love Sherlock’s best man speech.
Thank you for reacting to this amazing series. Fun to watch you interact with the characters; it was a special series. Keep’em coming!!
I was equally amazed at the writing in the "best man" speech and subsequent dialogue throughout the "sign of three" episode.
23:02 This was my favorite moment from the whole series. Mycroft and Sherlock concluding criminal intent.
Oh gosh Nat that intro was brilliant! Oh gosh you poor love! One of the commentators was right could have been worse 😂
Yes, the Abominable Bride !
ME! Binged it in a week during exams. Not the best life decision but it made me happy, so... 😅
Seeing/hearing Natalie giggle in ecstasy never fails to cheer me up. I wish everyone got that happy about things
In my humble opinion, ‘Elementary’ far exceeded the BBC offering that you currently enjoy.
i absolutely love this gem, watching your reation you made me realise the Easter eggs that the show left and how some things WERE SO OBVIOUS ;-;
oiiii i hoped you’d watch many happy returns which is like 7 min vid on youtube - maybe as a flashback bonus with the abominable bride? 🤓 i love amanda abbington in this so much, by season 4 sherlock really became a family show, ie many actors are related to the og cast and crew in one way or another 😄
Episode 1 isn't a reference to V for Vendetta, it's about Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up Parliament which is remembered in the UK on the 5th of November on Guy Fawkes night / Fireworks night / Bonfire night, when you get fireworks and bonfires across the country. V for Vendetta is also referencing the same thing.
10:50 Remember, remember the fifth of November,
gunpowder, treason and plot,
I know of no reason why gunpowder treason
should ever be forgot.
People are burning a Guy Fawkes Strawman every November 5th. To quote from Wikipedia:
Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Fireworks Night, is an annual commemoration observed on 5 November, primarily in Great Britain, involving bonfires and fireworks displays.
I have never felt more connected to you than during your reaction(s) to this season. My wife and I had the exact same reactions at the same time you did, but when these were first broadcast (makes me feel old!!!).
If you love Nattie's awesome Sherlock reactions and need to see more, she has just wrapped season 3 over on her Patreon 😊
... I'm pretty sure this IS Season 3. Do you mean Season 4?
@@seandeignan6615yeah I think they mean that all the full episodes are on her Patreon along with the abominable bride which is classed as season 3
@@seandeignan6615 Sorry my bad. You're right. Nat will be starting season 4 soon 😊
Natalie, you are so good at deducing what is happening!
The ending makes more sense when you assume every season was gonna be their last season.
Quick explanation as to why it was unlikely Sherlock and John would ever see each other again:
When Mycroft first mentions the job in Eastern Europe, he tells Sherlock that he would like him to decline it because he believes it would prove fatal to Sherlock in 6 months. That’s why when John asks how long he’ll be in Eastern Europe, Sherlock says “6 months. My brother’s estimate. He’s never wrong.”
Sherlock was supposed to be permanently exiled from England, but he would have died on that mission in Eastern Europe. He just doesn’t tell John that to spare him.
I would argue that season 3 of Sherlock is it's best season and I loved your reaction to it Natalie.
I think I'll be watching that intro for a long time. Iconic! XD
wedding episode is my far my favorite of the 10~ episodes i've seen. it's just fun.
Just me skipping through a sponsor intro like I always do for anyone when I land on “thanks so much for watching the sponsor, it really helps a lot.”
God damnit Nat. Fine. I will. I’m glad you like your Helix. 😂
Best intro ever :D
^ this...
The dramatic finale actually does make sense, because if Sherlock would have taken the mission, he would’ve actually died within 6 months.
You are actually amazing at figuring out what's going on!
Don't skip!
We really need a Loki reaction!!! 😁Hope you enjoy it when you get around to it!
I'm so glad I've got this show on DVD.
I've had to do with fifty murderers in my career, but the worst of them never gave me the repulsion which I have for this fellow."
Sherlock Holmes, The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton.
