I love how Tosin and Tim are like the two grown-ups at a kid's birthday party and Herman is the excited 11 year old.
You mean Tim's like the kid that thinks he's too cool to have fun🤣
It’s ironic cause he’s older than both of them i think
@rayn man I know what you mean but I don't think that's what Tim is trying to do. He's just a real shy person, and I'm sure he loves Herman , and ik him and tosin are friends. It probably makes him judge himself if he tries to be outspoken or incredibly outgoing it's just not his personality and that's ok. Herman has his personality thats ok too. Tim has his moments where he goes wild with his close friend group too.
@@raynman6466 unfunny
@@musicman3351 yeah Herman is late 30s even I’m older than Tim is but he’s lightyears ahead of me guitar wise

Yo wait w a i t w a i t WTF??!!!? How!!!?
Well......that's obvious.

Damn 😲😲
@Gary Couch that means basically the bassist isn't a legend lol
Herman Li looks like he's permanently playing guitar in high winds on the top of a mountain overlooking a stormy sea with raging waters and sea monsters and thunder and lightning. Legendary guitarist and human being.
The man’s whole life is a music video, saves them a hell of a lot of money when they can just film him anywhere and it’s this cinematic
He isn't?

@@snowmankillz713 Just Imagine Slash, but 300 times faster or something. 😅
Bahahahahhaa😭😭
I have the greatest respect for Herman still doing his stage moves like he's standing in front of thousands of people while playing very loudly in his living room.
this description is perfect "playing loudly in his living room" 😂
well he WAS standing in front of millions of people so
he missed the knee tho
What musicians hasn't done that in front of a mirror lol
Thousands? No, he's playing for billions!
Herman and Tim are all over the fretboard. Tosin is like "I got enough strings"
😂😂
If Time and Herman had one less string each, Tosin would have exactly the same amount as them put together.
I really thought since we were going in even numbered increments, Tim would have brought the crazy 8 string black and gold or at least the blue burl, then we'd have 6, 8, 10. I was hoping Tosin would use the extended advantage to straight up cut heads but no joy in mudville
*Tim
@@russellzauner Tosin only has 8 strings, Herman and Tim both have 6, 12 vs 8, they'd need to lose 2 strings each. It's crazy but not that crazy. What's more crazy is the guitar Tosin is playing is his guitar brand and so many other guitarists are picking them up.
@@russellzauner Tosin has an 8 string, not a 10

As soon as Herman Li starts playing guitar, the wind spawns
Yups😂
Herman Li is a high risk high reward kind of player and he honestly doesnt get enough respect for it. he tries so hard to entertain while also playing over the top and you just never get that kind of energy from lead guitarists enough.
He may not be the best guitarist out there but he is very entertaining to watch. He is such a showman. You can see he is enjoying what he is doing.
@@MrKyutTV I'm pretty sure hes one of the best playing right now lol you tripping

@@anubis5404 that's what high risk high reward means though, not to sound like a dick but that's exactly what the glass canon playstyle means. Flashy as fuck to entertain, but sacrifices execution. Hes gotten a FUCK ton better since the 00s though holy shit.

I think Alicia did an amazing job, nonetheless
@@RubenSprng Of course, she did a fantastic job.

same thing with Tosin and Tim, Herman is literally an airbender
Herman: "I'll do my solo"
Tim: "I'll do Sam's solo"
Tosin: "I'm just here to fuck shit up" 😂
What makes Herman go from expert guitarist to legend? That performance. He's not just playing incredibly difficult licks, he's dancing, showboating, driving the energy of the performance, putting on a show. Amazing stuff.
Absolutely agree! Herman has that live experience that just ELEVATES even the smallest riffs! Tim and Tosin are incredible but they need to add some movement!
Funny how growing up being a "bedroom guitarist" was discouraged, now everyone is a bedroom guitarist :D
Someone made a Van Halen tribute cover recently, and YT guitar teacher Ben Eller took the solo, and they cut over to him in the video, and he cranks it out while sitting in his office chair. Not a criticism, it’s just kind of funny to me 😄

Tim sure did his homework, while Tosin seems like that guy who never studies for the test but aces it anyway
He didnt aced it tho
@Idea Headed He's improvising here in the key of the song. It itself isn't that hard, what's difficult is performing that quickly and with that much articulation. Also, "tab it out without software"? Do mean learning a song by ear? Yeah, a vast number of musicians can do that. What's really impressive about Tosin is his composition skills and his playing style. Tosin is fucking amazing, but be impressed for the actual impressive reasons please.
In reality I think it's the opposite. Look at how high Tosin's guitar is on his body. That's a sign of a man who knows his shit.
@Idea Headed advanced musicians don’t use tabs lol
@@WLxMusic No he means he can tab out shit without needing software and without picking up his guitar

can we talk about how thicc this bass sounds? man, this rules the mix. I wish my bass recordings sounded like that.
Crank the mids, some lows for boom and highs for clarity, add some overdrive and there you go. If only it was that simple
@@Clumrat what I read here is "turn the bass up"
for such lead sections as they'll be busy in the higher mids to treble you'd move up to the lower mids and, at the times the guitar(s) are doing these lower rhythm stuff either moderately duplicate the keynotes or move aside, leave the room and come in from nothing or like maybe from upper registers. Not by any means to dictate anything like this obviously but to me this way it's sound more present in a mix like that :D by an eq pedal with an expression thingy might be desirable to do such stuff on the go.
Only B-ASS is real
Power of playing with new strings, it sounds almost straight to DI
When a song is so badass that it gets you suspended from twitch
@FND I'm referring to twitch banning/suspending Herman Li on twitch because of DMCA and he was playing DragonForce. Matt Heafy from Trivium also got a DMCA for playing his own music on stream too. Honestly record labels need to do a better job at making more robust and smarter bots for music detection that don't DMCA artists for playing their own music as a lot of artists are streaming on Twitch and UA-cam now since touring has grinded to a halt. All they are concerned about is making a quick buck and or shutting down people for playing their music when they don't. This is all too familiar to the situation gamers had as they dealt with Nintendo copystriking videos that had their content in it for years because of their backwards practices. Now sadly we are seeing it with the music industry in full swing on UA-cam and Twitch as they have not caught up to current times and are still stuck in their backwards ways.
*Edit* I get that it is their intellectual property that they have the copyright to and they can do what they want with it. They want to make money off their artists songs to survive especially with covid and nobody being able to tour and I get that but there should still be some way to use the music in a stream. I don't come to a stream to listen to a certain persons music but for the streamer and if I hear a song I like on the stream I download it on Apple Music (my streaming service of choice) and listen to it. I believe people should be able to play the music on their streams but there is no easy solution to the problem and probably no way to compromise with record labels. Just my opinion. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
was that the reason he got suspended? thats fucked up man...
I thought it was Sam's fault somehow
@@abraham2721 Nah the DMCA was from him playing his own music on stream and now he streams on UA-cam instead of twitch. Idk if he will go back twitch. That is only for Herman decide.
@@gregziel A lot of it is to do with how record labels changed the way they did business in the late 90s and early 2000s because of Napster and iTunes. Back in the day, record labels made most of the money from record sales, and the band made most of the money from tours with the label getting little, if any. When iTunes and Napster came along, record labels started making less money from record sales so they started locking artists into contracts where the record company took almost ALL of the money from both records and touring. This is why even insanely successful artists like TLC, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and more were all virtually bankrupt despite selling millions. It's also why solo artists are more common than bands now, because the record companies don't have to pay as many people. After a bunch of high profile examples of bands quitting their labels and suing their managers, the record labels relented a bit, but when Spotify and streaming services became the norm, they started tightening the noose again. To the record labels and the music streaming services, the artists are simply a cog in the money machine that can easily be replaced.
Copyright laws are not designed to protect the artists, but to protect the financial interests of the labels and publishing companies. Dragonforce being copyright claimed for playing their own music is not a glitch in the system. It is intentional so that the labels can control when and where their music is played. Twitch is not the one to blame for this, as historically they have been one of the more permissive platforms, but the record labels have not liked that, so they are suing the shit out of Twitch until Twitch bans all people using copyrighted content - hence the current situation. UA-cam on the other hand has played by the rules of the record labels for the most part, so they are allowed a bit more leeway to manage the situation themselves.
@@BambiTrout Ah gotcha still wish there was a solution to be able to play music but I guess not. Only think I could think of would be something similar to watch parties that is a twitch extension where you can sync up music through your spotify/tida/apple music/etc... accounts to listen along with the streamers and essentially use your account to sync up with the streamer to the song they are listening to but who knows if that would ever happen. Just food for thought kinda idea to get the same result so the music never has to go on the twitch recording. But at this point it's whatever. it is what it is.
The legends stillsss carry on forever and ever
This is quite possibly the most holsom thing I have ever seen in my entire life on UA-cam. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. Bravo 👏👏👏

It’s generational. Tim is from an era where showmanship doesn’t matter because the internet disseminates the music. Herman had no choice but to be cool on stage.
Holy shit well said
@@samig9032 yeah but it just looks really fucking boring.
He performs better on stage compared to a small video like this.
I like tims casual chill energy. It makes him feel like a monk who communicates exclusively through shreds. Its dope.
I was never much of a Herman Li/ Dragonforce fan but since the Jason Becker Tribute Auction I’m now a life long fan!! Solid dude
No one:
Literally no one:
Tosin: *DUM DUM DUM*

@@fourpapa1 thump meme
@@carlchameleon9847 Well I actually related to his random picks i.e. 5:25, 6:09, 6:20 :D
@@marosvarga9198 didnt even notice that at first lol. good catch
I joined in on my keyboard from home completely butchered the song but had a blast
yeah i do that too when i watch live which is why i wish there was a lossless streaming service for twitch for these types of times cuz its sooooooo compressed sounds ass but still sounds good lol
this made me smile laugh if thats even a thing lol
They butchered there own song too dont worry lol
XD
Absolutely insane!
Three different races united in one langguage we call music.❤❤❤
Haha yea. Tims mom is pure chinese tho. But props to a positive comment lol
@@hoffmansounds4192 don’t forget about the bass player.
I can imagine how uncomfortable it must've been for Tosin to groove to 4/4
tim and tosin looks like they dont know whats going on XD
herman is alpha when it comes to putting on a show/stream
Perfecto ! 🤘🏽
