    Hi Justin,
    First of all we wanted to thank you for your in-depth review. There is no doubt that we are also learning on the go and there is a lot to learn from you.♥
    We will be happy to refer to the things you mentioned in the review and shed some light -
    Let's start with the fact that our cymbals are indeed very large and thin, which makes them very comfortable to play and there is no doubt that they give a realistic feeling.
    Regarding the fingerprints on the rubber - we are happy to announce that in the next two weeks we will present in the Shanghai exhibition the new series of our cymbals and it includes some major changes -
    1. We replaced the rubber with one that does not get dirty easily.🥁
    2. We significantly raised the bell area in order to make it easier to play .🥁🥁
    3. We replaced and installed new very high quality triggers full circle edge strike sensor🥁🥁🥁
    Of course we will send you the new models so that you can be impressed, and you are right.. When there is a new company on the market,
    We can never know how long her products will last, but Justin we are here to stay and improve and be the best we can be..why?
    Because we are drummers who love what we do.
    Therefore, we have decided to give a two-year full warranty on all our electronic cymbals, both current and new series...we are ready to make a commitment for you.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
    We are attaching a small video with explanations about the new series and at the end a drumming section on a hybrid acrylic set that we built and on which we do all the tests.
    Again, thanks Justin!
    Much appreciated, keep up the important work.

      @Wdrummers that is good news! Are you entertaining any 1-to-1 exchange for these newer series of cymbals when they are available? I bought two of your 17" dual-zone crash cymbals from your eBay store about one month ago and only one of them was played for 10 minutes. I still have the original boxes and parts for both cymbals. Thank you!

    Take aways - companies are starting to challenge the idea that small disks equal cymbals. Accessories are making a comeback and everyone is gonna have to up their game a bit.. We the drummers are the winners when that happens..

    Seems like they're a work in progress. E drum workshop reviewed their cowbell and it had a few problems. If they can improve quality and keep prices low they might be a contender.

    Great review, Justin! It's really interesting to see the range of experiences with these pads. I haven't had the issues you've experienced with the bell zone mistriggering or the edge switch failing (so far, at least!) It's wild how loud the retriggers were in your test too, they sounded like duplicated full-force hits rather than the low volume rattles I've had and that Brady talked about in his 17" crash review. It looks like "inconsistent" is becoming the throughline at the moment, which is a real shame. One thing unites us all though - that dreaded cowbell mount 😂

    • @65Drums
      @65Drums  7 місяців тому +3

      I literally thought the mounting hardware for the cowbell was put in there by mistake at first 😂

    • @myfavoritedrumgear
      @myfavoritedrumgear 7 місяців тому +1

      yeah, your retriggers were huge compared to what I experienced.
      As an update on the cowbell mount, I have found that it works pretty well mounted almost parallel to the ground to hang your headphones on, so there's that 🤣

    I must say that I own the exact same cymbals (20” ride + 17” crash), also 14 inch dual hihats and the 22” bassdrum head with trigger!
    They work amazing! I have the TD-15 module so I had to make a few adjustments with the pad settings as expected, but I did not encounter the problems shown here but I did change the settings a bit like what you said Justin and the cymbals response has improved! I highly recommend these products, great value for money, let’s see the changes of the new models
    Thanks for this video!🤘🏼

    My kit currently has 7 more recent Ronald cymbols, 2 of which are digital, plus a digital HH...after having an ATV set plus ATV HH, I'm never buying anything else... Ronald is expensive but well worth the money imo as I beat the shit of my kit. Imma just hold out for Ronald to maybe drop a digital 20" one day. The 18's" are fine for ride and china but if *they* do a 20", it's getting purchased! Maybe even two, it's all about stage presence also!

  • @fallenshallrise
    @fallenshallrise 7 місяців тому +3

    The choice for bigger cymbals has to be more common - buy why are they so much more money? It's just the same internals with a bunch more plastic around it. Like if I buy 2 rubbermaid bins the one that's twice the size is like $6 more. When they are acoustic cymbals the price difference makes more sense but not when it's a frisbee. I welcome more entry level brands that want to put more pressure on the bigger brands to stop equating size with quality when it comes to edrums when it's all about the electronics. Selfishly I hate playing on dinky 12" hi-hats and wish I could more easily upgrade to a 14" or 15".

    This was a fun review to watch, you go really in-depth and give your pros and cons and that's much better than looking at just the good parts. I'm a drummer that's just started off pretty early, could you do a review for the Simmons Titan 70? I'm considering to buy it soon, plus I think your reviews are awesome and it'll be nice to see you review this too, thanks!

    Another great review! I always look forward to your thoughts. I was sent the same 20" ride with one pickup that you got, and it came with its own host of issues. The folks at UNLOCK let me know that they are updating the product, so I'm holding off on my thoughts until I get the updated ride. I have been enjoying the 17" crash though and haven't had any issues with them. *thanks for the shoutout!

    We definitely do need "larger" cymbals for beginner and novice players at affordable prices for sure. I guess $200 for the 20" is a good deal relatively, but it's still a bit expensive for me. That's 1/2 to 1/3 of the entire kit price on the lower end.

    • @65Drums

  • @t.j.heller8447

    I bought one of these to try it out. Mixed reviews on my end. Bell only triggers in a specific spot at the bottom of the bell zone. Get to close to the mounting hole and it only triggers the bow. Also, as with yours, a hard strike on the bell zone will trigger an edge strike. Its good product for someone on a budget or a beginner but not great for a more experienced or nuanced player. In the defense of this cymbal the odd ball bell/edge issue seems to be a habit of thin cymbals in general. The same phenomenon occurs with my Roland CY16R as well.

    I've just now discovered the Unlock brand exists. I have a couple of Lemon brand cymbals. A 13" 3 zone & a 13" 2 zone that I scored for well under $100 each.
    Still though, IMO? On my full size Mapex conversion (12" & 16" toms w/ 22" kick) project? I feel 13" & 14" inch cymbals are going to just look a bit odd.
    I think I definitely want to end up getting some 15", 17", and 20" cymbals. Possibly this Unlock brand may do the trick on the cheap?
    I'm competent enough with a soldering iron to do possible repairs, but having a cymbal outright fail live or in session? That may be a deal breaker.
    Currently using an old Roland TD-6V module into EZDrummer3.
    Thanks Justin!

    For the cable management clips, see if it helps if you try crossing the cables and hook them on opposing sides to relieve tension.

    I bought two of the 17" dual-zone crash cymbals to give them a spin after watching eDrumWorkshop's review. While they trigger fine I am not enthused about the overall build quality and might just sell them. I am spoiled by ATV, EFNOTE, and the Roland Digital cymbals. If Lemon finds a way to create thinner cymbals in their lineup, THOSE would be supreme value cymbals.
    See you at NAMM 2024 again hopefully!

    Great review as always. I've looked at these cymbals and there other pads, and felt they were built to a lower price point than what a gigging drummer would feel is reliable. I think they would work fine for home practice, but I wouldn't trust them on stage.
