I’ll definitely be saving for this, alot of complaints about the price but im all for investing in good, quality products in hopes i’ll never have to replace it for the rest of the trucks life, great vid!
Nice dome light. My personal taste would be for a silver finish or bare polished aluminum, though. Wouldn’t take or cost much to hit it with a spray bomb of your colour choice, though. 👍🏻
Nice video Steve! I wonder have you ever heard of anybody installing an aftermarket grab handle/bar on an obs ford? Been looking around for such a thing to make getting in the truck smoother for my lady.
As an alternative you can use a 97-03 Ford F-150/ Mustang Dome Light. Usually around $30 off EBay. Get one that has the 3 wire harness still attached. It will make installation easier. Put one in my 88 bronco. Looks and works better than the original. Suggest swapping the 3 bulbs in it to LEDs.
How we get to a light without a complete suspension walk around or test drive video?? This video just made me want to try the red or blue case for my bronco
Any issues with transmission. I know some guys say not to switch out too many lights to LED if you have an auto transmission due to tranny issues without resistor on led lights
so far i have about 20 of these installed in customer vehicles for several months now and no complaints with this issue, i did run into it installing aftermarket head and tail lights though
@@donttellmywiferacing1789 would you ever come out with same set up but allow the use of a toggle switch like some original factory trucks as oppose to door opening or twisting the light knob all the way? Also any thoughts on the door panel assist light?
show me where youre machining aluminum housings yourself and sourcing a quality LED that does both for $250 or less without having to make 1000s and I'm happy to do it.
@@donttellmywiferacing1789 I mean no disrespect, there is obviously a lot of work that goes into making one of these, its a nice light. Some switched RGB led's that allow for red would be great though for those who occasionally want/need to be a little less conspicuous.
@SteveStoltz a WRGB LED w/ or w/o a micro controller would be sweet and fairly easy. The housing is cool, but $250 is way out of my price range. My OBS isn't destined for a car show. I get why it costs so much, just not something I can justify for me.
Aside from the lightt being overpriced (for those having to pay for ours), the change-out loses important control, as the old light effectively let you light one side or both. With LED, you certainly should be getting a three-level switch to allow for different needs. Many people need to use the cab light while driving for some passengener need, but not creating glare for the driver. Sorry, but this mod is one of the very few that fix a problem we don't have. Anything lost on the floor can be instantly seen with the cell phone light.
You make some valid points Jason. I guess I didn’t rank those as higher priorities over brightness. The map readers on my old light didn’t function and the opium den level of light had me searching my truck and work office for my black sunglasses. I only found them one an employed the use of a flashlight. So I’d say this is a classic video example for to each his own. You might find the gas cap holder more to your liking though.👌

How many times have you replaced the factory Ford light? Stick a cheap led in there and be done

As I’ve said in other comments, it is extremely well made in the USA by a local business. It’s much brighter than any of the stock dome lights.

If we lived in Washington DC, the dome light would be free because it’s paid through a foreign aid package. lol
I would like to have the light for my '95 F150 but it doesn't make sense to put. $250 dome light in a $1000 truck.
Does your $1000 have potential to be a 5k or 10k truck?
For the price it should be able to switch to red mode, in the event that you don’t want to bee seen from 2 miles away.

KC Cyclone lights come with a particular color LED but I don’t think they sell any models that are selectable.
