It still has helpful information and I hope people get good use out of it! I am trying to figure out a good format for how not to miss anything on a playthrough and think I've come up with one but it will take time and I can't make any promises as to when a video of that kind will be out. I will turn my attention back to complete guides for the remaining quests in this game (Latenna, Bernahl, Blaidd, Boc, Etc.) and keep thinking about how to approach a guided playthrough of this massive game. Have a great day, and as always, thanks for watching!
For Latenna's quest, it's stiil doable after going to the forge of the giant, cause i did it before speaking to her in the first place ! but i didn't do much at the next location in the story
For Bernahl you can still get assassins gambit and eruption even after killing I killed him in limgrave in my first playthrough and still got those ashes of war
I also really hate this mechanic. In DS2 we could at least use bonfire aesthetics to bring back the area boss without going to NG+. This would have been so helpful. I only killed one invader at Mohgwyn‘s palace before killing Mohgwyn and now I am locked out of the White Mask. Will have to go to NG+ now…
By giving Nephali the potion, you get her as a summon later. (This fails Nephalis quest) By giving Dung eater the potion, you get him as a summon later. (This fails DE's quest) You can get the stormhawk Axes without falling Nephalis questline. Seluvis questline rewards a magic Scorpion charm that's easily missable. If you give ranni the potion (the second potion) from Seluvis, it fails rannis quest and you need to use a dew to reset the quest. You can summon the jellyfish somewhere in the Consecrated snowfield or mountaintop of the giants for a gesture. Summoning targoth during the rahdan fight gives you a gesture. Patches can be missed easily and will die if not Interacted with. Don't actually kill him during his boss fight. Complete his quest at volcano Manor before killing rykard. The item he he wants tanith to have does nothing as of now (Shaded Castle encounter). He will be at his cave for his "final" encounter. Punching patches in his cave and getting to low hp gives you a gesture. Once again Don't kill him. Speaking to melina at a Church somewhere in altus plains gives a gesture. After millicent moves to altus plains, Buy the threads spell from gowry and speak to him for a gesture. Seems like you need to do NG+ at least once to get everything on a single save.
PIay the game first, then go back and get what you missed on New Game plus. Watching a bunch of guides just ruins the game the first time around. I played Dark Souls 3 four times before I got Platinum and all the quests.
@@jeremymarsh1377 How do you know I'm not on new game plus? Why should watching guides ruins MY experience? Should I have to play 4 runs before I even start to look for help online?
nepheli's quest stopped for me because i killed Kenneth, so i decided to waste Gostoc. Then after i killed Mohg, Nepheli moved to stormveil castle and so her quest was completed. those npc quests are so illusive
I do enjoy the quests, but I really don’t like how NPCs get locked if you progress too far on the map/bosses, before talking to them. They should stay in their spot until you interact with them.
I feel you there man, as I could not complete Latenna's quest, once she turned into a spirit ash, I went to the giant sleeping woman, but I cannot summon Latenna as the option to summoning spirits it is being greyed out! ☹
You know, you can still get Nepheli's Storm Hawk Axes even if you complete her quest line. One is in Leyndell Capital and one is in Castle Sol. You can look it up online, but as long as you typically search around in areas you probably won't miss em.
Thank you so much for this!!! I unfortunately missed out on the Rogier quest because I beat godrick before I spoke to him (because I didn't even know he existed) and I already started the renna quest line because I was eager to get new spells from the puppet mage that works for her. She started this game less than a week ago and guys like this have immensely improved my experience in elden Ring Thank you so much again 💛
If you skip out on blaidd and talk to ranni you can still meet him trapped in darwils evergoal (When I started the game on the 1st day of release blaidd was hostile for no reason and I had to use a celestial dew to do rannis quest
rya's and middle steps in alexander's quest are super missable, most of fya's story trigger after 2nd and third assassinations but you are very close to taking down rykard by then, you will miss he questline and she is nowhere to be found, and alexandder can just glitch out if you didn't meet him before radahn fight, causing him to be stuck at radahn's battle arena until after you defeated fire giant and the ritual. Seluvis' quest is also super easy to miss because he dies very fast, if you get ranni the finger slayer blade he dies, hinted by blaidd leaving you the message of taking care of a traitor, while his quest really requires a lot of things, especially the final step of amber starlight shard, that is up on the altus plateu, which for me is usually later than norkron city. In fact heading up altus ruins early steps of most of the early quests in general. Also be careful after obtaining the magic scorpion charm from seluvis, do not carry out his plan and let him die, otherwise ranni will ditch you can cause you to mess up her questline unless you use a celestial dew, the final carry out doesn't change anything besides pissing off ranni so don't bother.
The last step in Seluvis's quest will also cause him to be killed off early, giving you his item set and allowing you to get nepheli and/or Dolores puppet from pidia. :P But still, great info H H, thanks for contributing!
I really wish FromSoft would’ve kept the quest system like DS1, in which quests would ONLY progress by either talking to the NPC, and/or buying everything they’re selling. In DS1 you can make your way to Gwyn, and then go back and complete Seigmeyer, Logan, Griggs, etc. afterwards since they don’t move based on bosses. After DS1, all quests progress now by bosses killed and areas reached, which imo is a bad system because now you can miss out on quests/rewards without even realizing it until it’s too late, and especially in games like Elden Ring now where things get complex you could be *forced* into NG+4-5-6 all because you find out you missed a single step in someone’s questline, missing out on a reward, that will require an entire new game… I understand giving reason for NG+ but it gets to a point where forcing beyond NG+ is just asinine.
I'm a massive DS1 fanboy, but DS1's quest NPC system wasn't perfect, there's tons of similar missable stuff/quest break points. Logan's quest CAN break I believe, although I can't recall the exact details of how. You're right that Siegmeyer and Griggs can't break, though. Solaire can disappear, though, if you don't talk to him, and you can't get Fire Tempest unless you do Quelaana's quest before Bed of Chaos. Also, you can miss the Thorns set if you don't do all of the Kirk invasions, which is easy if you don't play through certain areas while human before killing the boss. Rhea's quest can omegabreak, I've seen many reports of players being unable to buy her miracles because she's already dead in the Undead Parish immediately after being rescued in the Tomb of Giants.
The alburnoric village that was slaughtered by gideons men, I almost completely missed that. I had to look up how to get to the haligtree before I even seen the village
AMAZING. PLEASE keep these coming! I'm trying to piece together the chronological order for everything. Should I go in order from watching part 1 first and following that, or this one first?
Unfortunately I don't have them ordered well chronologically (even though I tried to do something like that). I will probably switch up the format for this style video/ what I am trying to accomplish with it and see how that does. It will have quite a few repeats from this but will more so be a guided walkthrough/100% deal in terms of NPC interactions, invasions, and quests.
This is insane. I missed a lot of these because I just entered the area of the fire giants in the snow ❄ part of the map. I surprisingly got a few of these not even aware of what I was doing on a traditional blind playthrough but it appears I missed out on a lot.
One of the hidden secret quests you forgot to mention was the Marshes of the Mellow quest. It's brief, but after you kill Astel, look carefully to the lower left half of your screen. A furry cat named Marshmallow is trying to get your attention. When you aide the fur ball you get an Ancient Feline Catstone, it's the equivalent of the Dragonstone.
the combination of my obsessiveness and your guides are why I have 250+ hours in my game and haven't beat it yet. That, and the constant need to make up for the millions of runes I've lost 😂
Brother, no lie, I have almost 500 hours in, I am trying to get as many Dragon stones as possible, and this is my 1st Soulsbourne game. I bought it when it first came out, but I played Horizon Forbidden West and beat that
Locking items, areas, quests, NPCs, etc. - behind hidden and ambiguous linear quest progression, in one of the most non-linear progression games, was the dumbest decision they made with this game IMO. You shouldn't have to Google every single item to make sure you don't lock yourself out, then spend another 10 hours Googling all the branching NPC questlines. At least with other Souls games, areas were more linear so you could explore to ensure you did your best to find things in the semi-"correct" order.
From what I’ve seen I’m not even sure most “missables” were intentional. Just a consequence of they designed the game and all the complex interactions there are. Fortunately, they seem to have fixed most of the “unintentional” missable items.
I need to say I'm not a fan of how From does the NPCs questlines. I can stomach missing them because I didn't explored the world enough but they make them so vague it's really hard to complete some. Without any guides it's really hard to figure them out. Most of them follows formula: meet NPC, exhaust their dialogue > get and item/ kill an enemy (sometimes skipped) > NPC moves somewhere else > exhaust their dialogue > get and item/ kill an enemy > move/exhaust their dialogue > NPC (if not essential for some mechanics) then dies/leaves leaving their items to pick The issue with that is if you are not some kind of detective it's really easy to miss many quests. I appreciate devs not holding our hand all the way but a little more hints of where we can find the NPC next is great. There is a step in right direction in ER because some of NPC actually leaves you a message to point you (Varre even tells you where to go!).

Thanks i didnt know about the jimp over banister one, rest i did so far, im trying to do it all in my first run 😊 i gotta betray millicent my next run it seems
I did kill Gostoc, getting locked into that room with the big knight is not worth that reward way later. I managed to sneak up on the knight and kill him by spamming Carian Greatsword. As for Alberich, I just Night Cometed him to death, I have no use for non-plot gestures, I play offline only.
I love this game, but they make doing these side quests a pain in the ass. I was just running around doing stuff not realizing I ruined several quests with amazing rewards and now I'm fudged until next playthrough. Lame.
Also keep in mind if your doing the Volcano Manor quest line and hope to get the raging wolf armor do not defeat Rykard before completing all of the quests. If you defeat Rykard first Raging Wolf and the other invader will disappear in the Capital and you will not be able to get the armor.
I’ve completed Haight and Nepheli’s initial quests but they have not moved to the thrown room. Neph sits in the basement of Roundtable and Ken stays in his castle. Am I missing something?
This happened to me. Only after defeating Morgot at capital city, resting at a grace, moving to Godricks site of grace and changed time both moved to trone room at Stormveil Castle.
Realistically a lot is easily missable. I missed the first church so didn’t have ash summon until around 40 hours in and didn’t meet ranni until 145 hours
I did Bernahl's quest as your guide suggested but I still didn't receive the Bear Champion armor set. Only got the fire sorcery. I don't know if I missed something 😢

Hey can you help me? So I kilt Patches and Varre in the beginning of the game, and now I can't find patches nor Varre in their usual locations, I've tried absolution but it says I don't need to. So now what should i do to progress their questlines?
Yeah but how the hell do I get Seluvis quest to move.... Does the second half not trigger before I use the potion? I am keeping it for DE and its stalling my progress on Blaid Ranni and apparently Nepheli is stuck not moving ether after receiving the stormhalk king....
nepheli you gotta wait to defeat morgot omen king in leyndell. DE has to be accepting seedbed curses to give him the potion (in leyndell sewer gaol) and seluvis's quest cannot be progressed until you give his potion to someone. hope this helps
@@ItsShatter Yeah thanks it helps a lot. you said Boc's quest can still be completed after killing Malekith, could you elaborate? I killed Malekith and now Boc has disappeared, ive no idea where he is
i think he may be at the city ramparts if you gave him the first sewing needle in his quest. He could also be at the Grand Library.. I am not 100% if / how you could complete and haven't tested it out myself, sorry.

That's why I told my friend this game is not that great. I mean you'll miss so many side quest even if you do mass exploration. The organization and events that are linked together are terrible. Freedom has to have some sense of organization even in exploration otherwise you'll never get the result you want. You'll always get whatever you get. How can anyone know what is linked to what unless you do detailed research before playing or during playing the game. I don't fully agree with average gamers who critique the game unfairly, but I get why randoms, average gamers, and even some die hard souls fans hate Elden Ring.
This game forces the use of guides. I love the game, but a few tweaks, plus up the actual boss difficulty and it would be the greatest. ( AOE one shots is not difficulty) People enjoy a back and forth battle. All end game is cheese mechanics. 🧀 First half of game is a master piece.

@@DarksydePhilip okay which Grace is the First for the Lake Region? Direct that after the castle? Then yes without knowing i made in som quests progress
Imagine my surprise when I bowed at Mad Tongue Alberich and he not only bowed back but I was rewarded
👁👄👁
Definitely good game design here
Loving what I'm seeing!
This was a great video
thanks V!
D is always portrayed in that spot as a dead body. No matter what I do,he is always dead there
where?
Thank you for your work!
I was surprised at all the optional bosses I missed. There are like 200 bosses in the game.
Don’t forget to tell Bok he’s beautiful using item
I wish I hadn't give Nepheli the potion... Oh, well.
I always use my potion on dung eater one of the best summons
@@icesworld2 This is my biggest regret so far--I killed dung eater, therefore losing his summons.
Best elden ring guide creator 🔥💯
Thank you very much, this really helps a lot. Are we sure these are the only ones missable?
they are not the only missables. The amount of missable dialogue / interactions is actually staggering. I am working on a new guided walkthrough series that should cover just about everything. It is gonna take some time though.
@@ItsShatter Will be waiting ✋️
I screwed up Bernahl's quest on my third playthrough because I forgot to not kill Rykard before completing the bounty 🤦♂️
❤❤❤thx for this
exactly what i needed
Thanks i didnt know about the jimp over banister one, rest i did so far, im trying to do it all in my first run 😊 i gotta betray millicent my next run it seems
Great work❤️
Latenna's quest:
I have killed Malenia, I am just about getting to the giant and still managed to get the SST10. ^^
I missed the shrimp guy because I went to the Vulcano manor before talking to him :(
A sanguine noble and anastasia will not invade you if you kill the putrid avatar in the consecrated snowfields, so make sure to kill them first.
I did kill Gostoc, getting locked into that room with the big knight is not worth that reward way later. I managed to sneak up on the knight and kill him by spamming Carian Greatsword. As for Alberich, I just Night Cometed him to death, I have no use for non-plot gestures, I play offline only.
the ash of war from yuras quest is still obtainable afterwards. i killed mohg and shabriri before getting invaded on the bridge
How ?
How ?
I’ve gotten 100% of the achievements in Elden Ring but I still feel like I’ve only seen like 10% of the game
You cannot get the dungeater summon/puppet if you progress too far in the ranni questline
Killing the boss of volcano mannor locks out some quests
Great video!! Thanks!!
I love this game, but they make doing these side quests a pain in the ass. I was just running around doing stuff not realizing I ruined several quests with amazing rewards and now I'm fudged until next playthrough. Lame.
Thanks, man.
Which quest are missable or should be started before killing Goderick? Henricus? Any other?
I’m gonna guess I have at least 14/15 of these before watching
You can get the summoning bell in Roundtable Hold from the weird 2 headed merchant thing if you miss Ranni at the first church...
For rogier what if he’s already dead before I can get his weapon
There was a few I was able to do way later like the rogier quest. Never knew who the guy was. Gabe me. Random cool sword. Was like wth is this guy😅
I did Bernahl's quest as your guide suggested but I still didn't receive the Bear Champion armor set. Only got the fire sorcery. I don't know if I missed something 😢
Thank you 🙏
damn i dont think i cant get Raging wolf armour now coz i think i killed rykard after 2 quests of volcano manor completed and i never saw this guy but he actually challenged me to a fight ~ i dunno what to do here lol i so love raging wolf armor although i slain House of haslow in snow area got his whip and armor
If I complete yuras quest for the poleblade early will I be locked out of other npc quests?
Rogier dies and still gives you his armor and the 8+ rapier.
Hey can you help me?
So I kilt Patches and Varre in the beginning of the game, and now I can't find patches nor Varre in their usual locations, I've tried absolution but it says I don't need to. So now what should i do to progress their questlines?
Start a new character or go on and try again in NG+. Those are your only options.
You just admitted to killing them. Why would they appear if they died lmao
@@DarksydePhilip well I kilt kenneth and he still appeared in after I took back his fort.
You get the arsenal charm even if you never meet nepheli in stormveil.
... hmm. might have been patched? There is a +1 and +2 arsenal charm also.
But boc dies anyways right? I mean after burning the erdtree the capital gets destroyed and with it boc ??
Blaid gives a good talisman and can be missed
You can get it after competing Ranni's quest anyways, but it's true that you can miss it temporarily.
@@ItsShatter oh thanks had no idea I've started over for this lol
Does D die if you find haliag tree medallion and get invaded when you go back to round table
Are all of these claimable in NG+ ?
What did i do to make ranni not be in her tower ?
Don't give boc the tear. It kills him
Yeah but how the hell do I get Seluvis quest to move....
Actually I only did not know about needing to defeat Morgot and thought the first quest for Seluvis did not need to be finished to start the second quest with Ranni. But I managed to ffigure those after I watched the other video (part 1) Really great info with minimal spoilers. Thanks again.
My first experience in these games is always "well i missed everything"
And thats ok because fuck em.
Its almost like they want us to play several new game plus lol. I missed a few of these and I'm a completionist.
Wow I missed so much !
I haven't miss any of them in my game through am I coocked ?
Sitting sideways. Boys in a daze...
Thank u
you said Boc's quest can still be completed after killing Malekith, could you elaborate? I killed Malekith and now Boc has disappeared, ive no idea where he is
i think he may be at the city ramparts if you gave him the first sewing needle in his quest. He could also be at the Grand Library.. I am not 100% if / how you could complete and haven't tested it out myself, sorry.
@@ItsShatter im worried because he was at the capital and i gave him the golden needle, he was asking about the larval tear but i hadnt decided if i wanted to give it to him, so i did other stuff, i ended up killing malekith, and now he isnt at that grace, ill keep checking around, thanks much!
@@Kyndral22 ok hmm not sure where he’d be. Let me know if you end up finding him. You don’t get anything special if you complete his quest correctly besides a happy conclusion to his quest.
@@ItsShatter I found him, i guess that If he asks about the larval tear, and you do not give him one nor tell him he shouldnt use it (i.e you dont say anything) and then kill Malekith, then he makes his own journey to raya lucaria and youll find him dead in front of Renallas room, poor little Boc
From software needs to fix these. Progression shouldn’t lock you out of quest lines.
There’s so much more missable items
Wait so killing leonine locks me out from vykes?
No I think that got patched
I think vykes should invade no matter what at this point
I think vykes should invade no matter what at this point
this sucks I literally "just missed" a lot of these within the last 2 days didnt know about Bernard's quest ill see if it's to late
So I totally missed Malania (spelling?)
Awww marshmallow
Literally just blocked a quest :(
That's why I told my friend this game is not that great.
🧀 First half of game is a master piece.
tell BOC he's Beautiful he will then not want the Tier
