Great work by Sun Ra and John Gilmore . Easy to listen to once you get it .
Great solo. Well developed. Really takes you for a ride and drops you off (on another planet).
This actually was a great LP and had superb poetry on the obverse and reverse by Sun Ra. Truly a masterpiece.
John Gilmore -- as magical as Coltrane.
This man and the other people with Sun Ra were/are great players!!!
Lord have mercy!
Un maestro injustamente poco recordado
He is so good. The Arkestra had some heavy hitters.
The cadenza gives me strong Trane augmented scale vibes ... the '65 Coltrane link is clear!!!
Coltrane learned from Gilmore though
Coltrane learned from Gilmore though
Great Content
nice seeein you in these parts.
It is a bit hard to listen to, but I acknowledge the artistry and skill level of this type of jazz.
Has anyone transcribed this incredible solo?
Not that I know of, would be amazing to see though!
@@moshwangles After a few more listens, I don't believe it is possible, lol.
@@brötzmannsax Ra made sure that his musicians expression went beyond what can be transcribed
@@brötzmannsax the notes are hearable even the high register screams, you can definitely learn to play like him but it's just not realistic to chart it accurately on paper especially the rhythm
very very cute
I think it’s
“Crossings”
What is the name of this piece ?
Who cares lol
"Sun Ra And His Band From Outer Space", I think.
@@SwolePorter Especially with his playbook of ten million compositions, who the fuck would know, or care!
