Fun fact about Hangul (as someone with a Linguistics degree): it's arguably the most ingenious writing system created by mankind, and the shape of the consonants reflect the physiological shape of the sound. For example, ㄱ is the consonant of the voiced velar stop /g/.
Also, they give you the vinegar and the yellow mustard on the table, which you're supposed to add to the neng-myun. Otherwise, you're eating plain noodles in plain broth.

I would like to express my deep gratitude to Mr. Doug Barnard and everyone who loves and cares about Gyeongbokgung Palace, a cultural heritage of Korea.
As you know, Gyeongbokgung Palace was founded in 1395, and by the end of the 1800s, 830 buildings were built like a maze, but most of the buildings were deliberately demolished by Japan during the japanese colonial period, leaving only a few central buildings.
Unfortunately, many of the buildings of Gyeongbokgung Palace, which were dismantled, were moved to Japan and sold to individuals.
Restoration is currently underway, but it will take a lot of time and money to regain the original shape of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
We will restore and preserve the noble and glorious cultural heritage inherited from our ancestors to our descendants.
We sincerely welcome all those who visit Korea and thank you very much for your interest and love in our cultural heritage.

Actually the first statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. A really great war movie called: The Admiral Roaring currents. About the Battle of Myeongnyang. Korea's 13 ships vs 100's of Japanese ships. If love a navel battle the second half of the movie is incredible.

Neighbor nations always wants to goble up and invaded. Korea NEVER invade neighbor to keep their value as honorable value but i think they should invade neighbors ; China and Japan. They always have been stealing from Korea and jealous. Japan stole pretty much everything from Korea to rise Japanese economy.

I'm just a Korean watching this video for fun. I'd like to share some tips I know.
Unlike Chinese characters, where each character has one meaning, Korea is 'ordered and modular'.
The order is almost consonant -> vowel, consonant -> vowel -> consonant.
These are the letters made by King Sejong the Great on the statue.
It is the only letter that is certain when, who, and why it was made.
Behind the king's chair is the 'Ilwrolobongdo'.
This painting is only 'behind the king'
And there is a dragon on the ceiling. In the Joseon Dynasty, only the king could use a dragon. The king is a dragon.
But in the West, dragons are considered dangerous... Hmm, ironic.
    여행팁- travl tip in ROK
Downlode 'Naver Map' app rather than useing Google Maps. Naver is a company like Google in Korea.
Google Maps is not accurate in Korea.
It is said that there is a restaurant in the middle of the mountain.
The Naver map is the map that Koreans and I use.
Drones are not allowed in most areas of Seoul.
There are some places where you can get permission in advance, but most of them are prohibited by law.
In fact, most of seoul are prohibited because there are top-level military facilities, important diplomatic facilities, large broadcasting stations, the presidential office, and Seoul Airport in Seoul. Occasionally, foreign tourists who do not know this was flying, in Gangnam and Han River. but caught by the police just by flying.
If the conversation does not work, speak to Google Translator -> Show the translated text.
Showing the text is easier for Koreans to understand, than following the translator's word.
왜냐하면 한국어는 발음이 다양하고 세세합니다.because Korean pronunciation is diverse and detailed.
Such as difference between 'ae-' and 'ye'
So, the meaning can change drastically with just one pronunciation.
    세다(seea da) - count 쎄다(sseea da) - strong

Nice Vlog you made~ But there are two or more misunderstanding about Korea.
    1. Numbers of CCTV s : 18 cities out of top 20 are in China , Number 3 - London. Seoul? ranked at 53rd in the world. The reason why Korea is safe is Seon-bi Spirit which is which refers to a virtuous scholar who pursued a simple and graceful lifestyle.
    2. Chinese Alphabet and Korean Alphabet : Dong-E tribe - Ancestors of Korea, made Alphabet and used it. But it is so difficult to use because it is ideogram. Korean Alphabet is phonogram.
Koreans can pronounce Chinese Alphabet by syllable but Chinese can't , they need more than one syllable to read one alphabet.
Ideogram ( Chinese Alphabet ) could be used indiscriminately , that's why King Sejong Invented Korean Alphabet (phonogram).
Illiteracy rate of China is about 6.x % , much more than that i guess. Ideogram ( Chinese Alphabet ) is kind of hard to learn.
Many Chinese scholars admitted that Chinese Alphabet made by ancestors of Korean ( Dong-E tribe )
One more interesting Thing : Dong-E and Hun Tribes moved to Saschen(Germany) and married saxons and they became majority of saxsons.
Dong-E and Hun Tribes came to Korea peninsular and became majority. - B.C 60.

Some economy professors says that South Korea could overcome korean war's effect and became a rich country thanks to hangul. Hangul is the one of the easiest writing systems in the world. So basically literacy rate was very very low.
What If Korea was still using Chinese characters like Japan, Korea might be a poor country untill now.

Western ppl can't call chinese characters. They should be called Han-ja. Hanja wasn't made by chinese.
Ancient Un country invented gapgol characters which means written on the tuttle"s back. Gapgol characters are origine of Hanja. Gapgol is related to ancient Korean shamanism and of course Un was built by anceint Han ethnic(Korean). That is why you have to call Hanja.
