My Son moved from Scotland to teach English in South Korea in 2015 for one year, he loved the place so much, he has never come home.
Now has a lovely Korean wife and last month gave me a beautiful Grandson.
Visited them twice before covid-19 , visit number three is in the planning :)

I was privileged to spend 4 months in Seoul as an exchange student. I have one week left and I'm already planning to go back. As Lisa and Josh said, Korea is a country to fall in love with. The people, food, culture, history, everything. I'd recommend everyone who has the financial resources and enough time on their hands to visit Seoul/Korea at least once in their lifetime, you won't regret it.

Also, Doesn't worry about gun, drugs..and Korea has really good public healthcare system, too. I hope I could come back to my home town someday. My heart will be always with the Seoul Even though I am living in US now.

    absolutely love your Korea vlogs!
People in Korea usually don't talk in subways (pre- or post- COVID) because they are considerate of the noise levels in small public places. Hence, you'll see a majority of them with earphones looking at their phones instead. It's a sort of cultural etiquette. It works out perfectly because there's great wifi even in subways so they can be preoccupied doing that.

I know this has been posted for a year or so now, but I'm fairly certain those were not protests, but presidential/political elections. When I lived in Korea, that's what they did to broadcast themselves as a candidate. Also, for anyone curious, when you talk about the palaces, the Korean word "Goong" means palace. So, if you say Gyeongbok Goong Palace, you're saying Gyeongbok Palace Palace. Haha.

Not so sure about that. While crime rates are relatively low in Seoul everyone should always be careful especially if you're a woman. Please never go out drinking alone if you're a woman any where in the world including in Seoul. Even though Seoul is great place Korea still has big problem with Racism, sexism and xenophobia. Seoul is my home, so I love this city but no where is perfect and after all Seoul is a huge city of course it will have bad people in it too.

Thanks for the video. This video reminds me of many things I have been missing for a while. I had been born in Seoul and have lived in US for twenty five years. Whenever I bring my US born boy, he keeps saying, why everything in Korea is so good and clean? I seriously consider encouraging him to keep his dual citizenship for a better future although he finds himself an American.

Suggest you buy your T card as soon as you get to the airport in Seoul. Go to the convenience store there and buy one. They are use to tourist and can help you if you need it. I’m glad I had it as soon as I got to the city as you use it constantly, Especially if you travel by taxi, bus or subway. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing the videos. Just returned from Seoul after staying in Seoul for over 7 Days. Seoul is huge and there are many places to visit. Very nice place to visit. This summer is warm. The heat from the Sun is as fierce in Singapore where I come from. There is a lot of walking required hence best to carry some shades or an umbrella in which would be very helpful to prevent sun burn. I have a some library of photos to share too. :P

Don't worry about the Duksugung Stoneway Walk any longer. There used to have a Divorce Court at the end of the walk and it was said that a couple was destined to break up to walk along the walk. It moved to South Seoul (Gangnam) years ago and No Worries. Enjoy the romantic and graceful sidewalk. It is beautiful.

The “walking along the stonewall walkaway of Deoksugung Palace and you as a couple will break up” story started from the fact that they used to have a courthouse for divorce rulings towards the end of the walkaway. So couples who walked along the wall to the courthouse were mostly those who were going through divorce or were about to 😉
