  • This week, I decided to give up drinking coffee. Again. Does this mean I think everyone doing Bright Line Eating should give it up, too? My answer to that question has been shifting lately. Watch the vlog to hear all about it.

I am a year in with BLE and about 10 lbs from goal. I have enjoyed black coffee the entire journey but recently started questioning the amount I'm drinking daily. You put the questions I need to ask myself so perfectly. I look forward to journalling this tomorrow and creating a plan that will work for me. Life changing stuff as always!

I drink decaf coffee pretty much all day, from a big mug, but over the day it is about 3 cups of decaf. I sip it all day. A hot liquid helps me when I am hungry at an inappropriate time. And I love the taste of a good cup of coffee! It was an adjustment to drink it black. When I asked my son how to order black decaf coffee at Starbucks, he replied, "Who are you and what did you do to my mom?" I have grown to like it black and try various roasts, etc, to get just the right taste. I don't currently see it as a problem for me, but perhaps I may at a later time.

I don’t even like coffee and don’t do caffeine, but I still watched this video because I find BLE so intriguing and you to be so enjoyable. 🙂

I drink coffee once or twice a week. I could easily give it up, as it's not about the caffeine for me.
We should have something bitter daily, for our taste buds.
Kimchi. A tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. A glass of water with a squeezed lemon in it.
I feel much more myself after having one of those.
Coffee, honestly, feels incongruent to who I am.

I was 8 yrs old and loved the smell of percolated coffee. I asked my Mom...more like begging to try some. She made me one with lots of milk and one teaspoon of sugar and told me to stir like hell like they did in the depression. . I became addicted then and said, 'I will go to school if you make me a thermos of coffee'. I'm not a Bright Liner yet, reading the book. I've been obese since childhood and I'll be 59 this year. My sister has lost 75Ibs already. Honestly, I can't even fathom being thin. My heaviest was 479.

Coffee and milk like a latte is my new drug.I could have a few between meals which got me through to the next meal.Than I noticed my weight going up and wondering why.Did I really consume that much milk? Was I really honest about how I drank my calories?Nope.Dropped coffee since it wasn’t the coffee it was the fluffy milk I got from a latte that was a hit. After letting go of it my weighed fell off even more. The best test to see if something serves you is to go 24 hours a day without and see how you feel ?

This vlog is helpful. I'm clean from caffeine, sugar and flour since January 1st 2020. I would drink coffee all day long (for the effect) and then starve all day long and then go home and binge. No Caffeine is now a bright line for me.

    Hello Susan,
I'm super new to BLE. I learned of it from a childhood friend who posted on Facebook her progress on BLE. I was so encouraged that I bought the book. I have taken my time reading it because I'm scared of the changes, and really want to process what I'm reading. (Well, that's what I told myself anyway.) I am an 8 on the Susceptibility Scale. I watched the 3 videos that came to my email after taking the Susceptibility test. They were so encouraging. Then I watched this coffee video. I still have to learn the plan, but I made my first BrightLine, only Black coffee. That seems doable and empowering for me to learn the rest and finish the book ASAP. Thank you for being so transparent, it gives me great hope.

Start adding oil pulling to your routine and the dentist wont need to scrap coffee residue (?) off your teeth. Since the dentist is 'scraping' your teeth it is apparent that you are not oil pulling; I used to hate going for dental cleanings because of the scraping but since I started oil pulling the dental technician is surprised to find there is nothing to scrape off. I use a teaspoon of coconut oil swishing while taking a shower, spit it in a jar or the garbage (not down the drain and don't swallow it) then rinse with water and a dry toothbrush. It will keep that great smile looking good.

I’m a 10 on the susceptibility scale and I drink coffee very regularly. For me it works just fine and my lines have been squeaky clean. But I’ve been feeling a bit guilty for drinking so much (black coffee only and 75% decaf). So this was a very helpful video. Thank you.

Milk is allowed as a morning protein; can't I add it to my black coffee? As long as I don't add cream/sugar, only the milk.

I enjoy coffee. I drink it black. It doesn't make me wired (although I wouldn't drink it before bed) and on the occasional day that I don't drink it, I feel fine. I buy green coffee beans from a Co-op that I've actually visited (to the farmers' homes), I roast it and grind it myself and it tastes great. So for me, there is no reason to quit. My lines are bright and coffee doesn't lead to cravings. So, for me it works and is pleasurable. Now, if it were something like Folgers, yeah, I would probably wouldn't care about giving it up because that stuff needs cream. Mine doesn't.

    What about cofee with milk?

    • @Brightlineeating
      @Brightlineeating  6 місяців тому

Having coffee is still a personal choice within Bright Line Eating. When adding milk, the milk would count as a protein, so it would need to be weighed and measured as a protein serving and consumed as part of a meal. 🥰

Hello Susan, Wouldn’t coffee come in the same category as flour. It’s a finely ground substance. It seems to have to same effect on the body as flour, it gives you a high and you want more.

Your content is sooo good and I'm a big fan, but rolling your eyes in the beginning of each video is annoying and makes me not want to watch your videos. Also if you hire someone to edit your videos and add some music they would be more engaging. I guess this sounds critical but hope this helps to get your message to a wider audience. Who am I to give you crticism though, so take this or leave this.
