How to fix gas water heater status light not blinking/No hot water fix

Our gas water heater stopped working in the morning as the hot water was kinda lukewarm. The user manual of the heater says the common problem is that the pilot light went off, which was the case for us. I got it fixed by following the instructions on my user manual.
