For the past year, I worked in a Title 1 school in a predominantly black-latinx neighborhood. The government provided foods for our kids were NOT healthy: cheese burgers, nachos, pizza-- sausage pizza for school breakfasts! The community had limited access to the grocery store, where most shopped at Dollar General. Our sports teams were sponsored by Chick-fil-A, and winning game meals were boxes of fried chicken. My students have diabetes, early heart disease, asthma, and over half the student population was clinically obese. Our teachers are on blood thinners. We're annually trained to understand the signs and habits of racial-bias as educators, but why is health-discrimination permissible? Because our community is part of a long-term and overlooked oppressive social system, we cannot afford to loose this government assistance; but the wealthier and predominantly Caucasian schools in our district don't see these health problems- they aren't even served the same lunches- or their parents are able to pack a carefully curated lunch to bring to school, as their campus and homes are situated near a Fresh Market. If given the opportunity, yes- Title One schools would choose to raise a campus garden, provide better options, and increase the budget for school transportation for sports and after-school activities. But we're not given that opportunity. And I should be happy we have macbooks? Are you kidding?! It was a problem year-round, but was highlighted during the COVID outbreak during lockdown, that many of our students had computers but no access to wifi! Why do our students need to rely on MacDonald's parking lots and the 2-hour window of wi-fi busses to get their work done during this outbreak? If you want to understand racial inequity in the United States, look at the lifestyle differences of our children. Look at what's on their plate.

I think it is so much more than this, I think killing is probably not the objective at all it's just that your health isn't a concern to their profits. with a title like "They're trying to kill us" it kinda leads you to believe it is their intention, but honestly the longer you live the more profitable you are because you can't buy this shit when you're dead, and the fact that you'll probably live until you're 40-60 with these diets is more than enough for them to make their desired income off of you. That said, there's some more important things to be said about these diets, like the effect that they have on your cognitive abilities, and things beyond diet such as fluoride in the water supply which eradicating from your diet would have more health benefits I believe than changing your diet ever could, or merely buying an air filter / moving away from the city to avoid Co2 and other pollutants. More importantly, when behavior change starts to come from the targeted people themselves, such as not buying "the food that kills us", we start moving in the right direction. Each individual has power. People change the face of their neighborhood. Stores and bodegas will stop carrying the items that sleep on their shelves and will start stocking what sells! The communties that will have THE most to gain from a Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) livestyle is this community in America. POINT 1: Take the race issue out of it, this is about money - period. Race is just collateral damage. The money machine would enact the very same on any susceptible community no matter what defines them - race, religion, ethnicity, geography, or whatever - doesn't matter, greed knows no bounds. POINT 2: People must take personal responsibility. It's 2021, we all have unlimited information access on the internet (free at the library), modern transportation (cheap when done as a community), social networking (even most poor people in America have cell phones and free social media apps) -- so there is no excuse not to educate yourself on good health and nutrition practices and to create community programs (food co-ops, etc.). STOP THE BLAME GAME! They can advertise and provide easy access to cigarettes and alcohol, for example, in your community, but it's you that actually chooses to use such substances - TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN DAMN CHOCIES!. I too grew up in the inner city, I worked my way out with self discipline and hard work. You can too, so stop your whining and JUST DO THE PERSONAL WORK!
“You put drugs in the communities, guns in the communities, disease in the communities, …" - Who is "you"? Food is the problem but being obese is ok? Feeling to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; behavior that contradicts what one claims to believe or feel, this is called hypocrisy.
The "you" is referring to big corporations, the meat, dairy, and egg industries which profit off of exploiting animals and hiding how unhealthy and bad for the environment and animals these practices are. They lobby the government to put animal products on the food pyramid despite science that proves it's unhealthy, and they lobby for subsidies which are given to animal products instead of fruit and veggies, artificially making animal products cheaper than they really are and keeping healthy whole foods more expensive. These communities they're talking about are often in food deserts, meaning there are no grocery stores close enough for people to eat healthy, and the public transportation is so bad or non existent that people cannot afford to go somewhere else to get groceries. I suggest you do your own research on these complicated, nuanced, multi-faceted issues or you wait until this documentary comes out and give it a chance to explain what they mean in this trailer by watching it. No one is saying that being unhealthy is "ok" or anything like that, they're saying that it's really hard for poor people to be healthy due to a lot of factors around the way we distribute and sell food. These industries have HUGE amounts of power and influence and make billions in profit. They exploit animals and workers and they lie and hide their practices, sometimes with things called ag-gag laws, which make it illegal to film what the inside of a farm actually looks like, which the supreme court recently ruled as unconstitutional, i believe, but which has been in effect in a lot of places for a while. They don't want people to see the truth because they know it'll hurt their profit if people see what happens to animals inside farms.
@@depthsothenso813 They subsidize unhealthy foods, yet and still a whole food plant based diet is less expensive than the standard American diet. A pound of beef will always cost more than a pound of beans or rice or tomatoes.
All of these things affect poor white, hispanic, and asian communities as well. The points and facts of what they are doing in the top 1% still stand but making it racial is just goofy. I suggest looking into ALL poor communities. You will see parallels.
BOOM!

What about Eric Adams in this movie still keeping a mandate on Covid-19 jabs? Isn't that hypocrisy?
It's not their fault if they don't live near grocery stores and can't afford healthy foods because the government keeps subsidizing unhealthy foods.
@@depthsothenso813 They subsidize unhealthy foods, yet and still a whole food plant based diet is less expensive than the standard American diet. A pound of beef will always cost more than a pound of beans or rice or tomatoes.
Go plant based people
Where the hell do you watch this? Man some people are not good at promoting this stuff.
GO VEGAN
All of these things affect poor white, hispanic, and asian communities as well. The points and facts of what they are doing in the top 1% still stand but making it racial is just goofy. I suggest looking into ALL poor communities. You will see parallels.
