Here in Germany they have made it legal again, to hold pigs in cages in which they can not move at all, just because it was illegal before and they couldn't hold all farmers accountable for breaking the law.
There must be real punishments for companies and politicans that are so much against the world and animals. I don't know how many politicans can keep their jobs with such huge fùcked up decisions while normal people get fired because of one Karen. We need real punishments and real laws.

Most importantly, remember that while white people make up only 8% of the world's population, have the highest score for environmental responsibility and awareness, and the lowest birth rate of any race... its all white people's fault and they should be doing more! It is a powerful reality we all must seriously look at and begin making changes in our dietary practices. No ones said it will be easy but with the advances in plant base foods it gets easier.
I have been watching this sort of documentary since the early 70s. A little less drama, and more truth would help the cause.

Large food production companies need to be help accountable, we as consumers especially people who have no clue what’s going on in the environment are not the ones to be the game changers. It’s the companies who know better and are decimating our world with pollution that should be held accountable for their actions.

Food production companies feed thousands if not millions of people everyday. It doesn't matter if we all decided to go vegan because we would still need to rely on large scale industrial food production, given how many we are today. The only sustainable solution is to be significantly less people.

Its funny how people talk about this, but never address the real problem. We have been farming animals for 20,000 to 30,000 years. What has so suddenly changed since then? That is the ONLY problem.
I've lost hope that individuals will change their diets quick enough. Politicians are doing absolutely nothing in the UK. I don't have any hope for #cop26 Alok Sharma is just another business man and will do nothing. All we can do now is prepare for the heatwaves whilst individuals devour their beefburgers and complain about how hot it is.

And even if everyone became climate heroes in their daily lifes, it woyld reduce onky by 25% the carbon footprint (at least in france, but this is probably true with every developped countries). Change must also come very strongly from our governments. It must be radical. And they are still doing the opposite. How can we keep hope in that situation?

@@maryfinelli9390 I dont even consume 1 cow a year, a happy grass grazing cow. On the other hand millions and billions of smaller animals are killed for crop farming. All the nuts that vegans love is food for squirrels that get gassed or otherwise dispatched. Most of the vegans just want to pretend they not kill anyone.
@@MistMonkey unfortunately, as shown in a recent Oxford University study done in partnership with the Food Climate Research Network, grass grazing cattle, which is to this day being promoted as a good method of carbon sequestration, “found that grass-fed cows release more greenhouse gas emissions through belching and manure than they are able to offset by boosting soil carbon levels” that’s not even taking into account the petrochemicals used to create the black plastic silage bales, containing grass gathered by a fossil fuelled tractor from a field used solely for growing grass to the cattle over winter, every year I watch it happen from my mother’s biodynamic kitchen garden in the otherwise ‘green desert’ (there’s very little wildlife, mostly just sheep, cows & pheasants bred for shooting) that is the Cotswolds. As this documentary shows, our food system needs fundamental changes.

I’ll sum it up for you- cows and fishing are bad. Fish farms are super bad and super yuck. Stop eating meat and just eat plants. But don’t focus on fact that plant based large scale agriculture also uses fertilizer and pesticides. Solution is get human population way down, and fast. Go back to small scale organic farming- like permaculture- lots of great books on permaculture. It’s doable if you have the money to get out of the city and buy land. So reality is here comes fake meat and cricket flour.
If people would seek God and read a Bible, it explains why our world is in the condition it's in. Sadly people don't want truth, they want lies they can live with. Read Revelation!

I’ve seen many films like this. Elephant in the room is human population numbers. Either a real lethal plague, war or some one world government that culls the human herd is the only way to get human population numbers down FAST ENOUGH to actually stop global warming. Switching to no meat diet doesn’t stop the fact that the current 8 billion population number is expected to climb to 10+ billion. All of them emitting carbon, making plastic pollution. I love our planet but we are a plague of locusts. I would gladly volunteer to give up my life if it meant getting human numbers down. But I’ve lived a long time. Someone in the future is going to have to make tough choices- who gets to breed and who doesn’t, how much medical intervention and $ is spent on old people that are going to die anyway. No one is making the movie that focuses on the cause of all this misery- we must get human numbers down and do it quickly, or the oceans and wild places are doomed.

The climate always changes, it's primarily a natural phenomenon. 500 million years ago, life was not even possible on the surface because it was too hot.

I wasn’t aware that China was solely responsible for over intensive agriculture. To combat climate change we need to rewild an area the size of China, do you think the solution is to exclusively rewild China and allow building developers to build on wildlife corridors, instead of adapting old building, such as the frequently available disused retail space as is currently happening in England, for humans continue to raze rainforest land for cattle grazing (frequently murdering and stealing land from indigenous people as part of the process) and continue to have fields and fields completely clear of wildlife and trees in England with instead nothing but cattle, wheat and sheep (in separate fields) and grass to feed the same cattle and sheep once they’ve eaten all the grass in the field they’re already in? Perhaps you don’t care that, as recently reported on by the Independent newspaper, meat companies have been deliberately underreporting emissions and grass grazing cattle actually emit more greenhouse gases by belching and manure than they sequester into the soil.
Don’t forget about the antibiotic resistant bacteria increase in animal farms around the world, is China solely responsible for that too?
However, I do agree that China, like a lot of countries, needs to improve if humans and a lot of other species are to survive, that needs to start both at the top, with better legislation around environmental impact of all industries and at the bottom with more considerate consumption and less consumption over all, for a few examples of what I do/don’t do, I only buy second hand goods, don’t fly unless it’s an emergency/I can’t get there any other way (it takes longer but telecommuting when necessary mid journey is possible on a majority of routes for a lot of jobs), for example when I, hopefully one day, visit Korea, I will be taking the train from the Netherlands and then a ferry from the tip of China. Seat61 was v helpful in planning, I can highly recommend it. I also think taxing billionaires fairly (for example one whose workers are worked so punitively that they have to pee in bottles instead of going to the toilet & are heavily discouraged from unionising), more automation of jobs and establishing a UBI can help. Curious to hear your suggestions.
@@CitizenofGallifrey nobody emits more greenhouse gasses than china. So it doesnt really matter about emissions in England, as even if we were to reach net zero, it wouldnt make much of a difference when you consider the bigger picture. Also, the independent magazine is a load of rubbish
@@connorbolton5519 China emits more carbon dioxide than everywhere else is true, but can be used as an easy out that needs context from the article linked below or that you can easily find by googling the text in quote marks “CO2 emissions per capita paint a different picture" (re China being the sole causer of climate change)

and “The greenhouse gases emitted during the product's manufacturing are tallied as China’s” China is basically the factory of the world, if demand lessens so do the emissions. Hence the need for everyone to consume less & repair what they already have instead of just throwing it away and buying a new one, most likely made in China. So it’s not as simple as ‘shrug your shoulders and blame China’.
