Yes, the Lord Jesus Christ is God Almighty! Amen. Also brother Stan we have another instance of First and Last in the book of Isaiah. Isaiah 48:12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I [am] he; I [am] the first, I also [am] the last.
@@JasonLovesJesus true. However, in Greek (Septuagint), it is written differently, so it cannot be a direct verbal quotation. It has a thematic parallel but not verbal.
The text of revelation does not say that Jesus said this, it is not a direct quote. I am not saying that I agree with the book, I am commenting by what it is in the book. Test it, if you didn't. For example, Rev 1 8 then 1 9, see Rev 22 8 also. Now, see Rev 22 16. This pattern by the author seems to indicate a changing of speaker in the book.
Also Jesus has a God according to the book. Rev 3 12, for example. I am not saying that I agree with the book in the other points beside the father being the God of Jesus.
John 5:22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Jesus will be the judge not the Father. Matthew 25:31-46 the angels will gather all of the nations and divide them like a shepherd separates his sheep and goats. Then the Son of Man will judge all according to their works. Just like Paul says in Romans 2:6-9 Jesus is coming not the Father but the Son and will judge the whole world. He is the one coming... so like you said, the one coming is Jesus so Revelation is talking about Jesus as the Alpha and Omega.
@@VgtslotsBibra i was quoting Jesus. You should read your Bible. Mark 8:20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the SON OF MAN has nowhere to lay his head.” Mark 9:6 Jesus said "But that you may know that the SON OF MAN has authority on earth to forgive sins”-he then said to the paralytic-“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.” Matthew 11:19 Jesus said "The SON OF MAN came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.” ...lots more all pointing to the prophecy in Daniel 7:13-15 about the SON OF MAN. Jesus was the Son of Father God, he was the Word of God (John 1:1 - 2, vs 14) who became "flesh" (human). Jesus is the God-man. Son of Man (Son of Abraham, Son of David according to the OT prophecies liike 1 Chronicles 17:11-16) Son of God (Psalm 2:7, Micah 5:2, isaiah 9:6)
Very good video I always enjoy your videos! I am a Polish Orthodox Christian from Detroit who studied two years of Attic Greek at University. I am currently reading St. Matthew’s Gospel using Duckwitz’s reader published by Bolchazy-Carducci. I love these videos!
The first chapter of John and first verse in the beginning was the word and word was with God and was God. God is the beginning there and at 14th verse word was made flesh and dwealt among us and we beheld the glory of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth. He walks as a son to show us how to obey the father as a son and how to overcome sin the devil and the world in the flesh and speaks like a son does to the father. He has all God's power but he still has to face every test and temptation and rejection and if u do it like he showed us we can overcome
Every time a Christian states Jesus is not God, the religious Christians insult them... see below... I'm called a heretic, an ignorant, without brain etc... Let's meet in front of the Bêma Seat and see who was wrong. I cannot wait to see God face to face and Him telling me : Good job my dear, you sought the truth and found it!
You equate YHWH with the Father only but I have the understanding that YHWH is a reference to God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and not just the person of the Father. This would seem evident from things like "The LORD is my life and my salvation" (Psalm 27), "The Spirit of the LORD speaks by me" (2 Sam 23) [note that the Spirit is also called Christ's Spirit in the N.T.) or any other number of passages where YHWH/The LORD appears with human likeness. I would be interested in your thoughts.
I do agree with you. You can watch my video: “Does Paul refer to Jesus as Yahweh?” In this specific video, I don’t remember speaking about the name YHWH, so not sure where you extracted my view from. I haven’t included my full research and all the evidences in this video to make it brief. All in all, I do believe that Yahweh is the name shared by the Father and the Son (I assume by the Spirit too but I haven’t researched it yet).
So, from a Jehovah's Witness, I really appreciate you making your case about your interpretation of scripture from the language and context of the scriptures itself. So many youtubers that address us tend to mention something we believe, oversimplify it, insult our intelligence and impugn our integrity... "therefore the trinity." Which isn't particularly effective. You're addressing the text itself in a way consistent with 1 Peter 3:15, which is good. SO... let's test this interpretation and see where it goes. If I understand your reasoning, verses 12 and 13 seem grammatically connected. There's no clear indication that some "different person" interjected in the middle of the conversation with John, but is a continuation of a single conversation. And because in verse 12, this person saying "I am coming soon," suggests the person is the same one "coming soon" throughout the chapter, therefore Jesus. Therefore Jesus is the alpha and omega. Is that a fair representation of your points? If so... Let's assume Jesus is the one speaking to John and he is indeed the "Alpha and Omega." Grant that for now, and zoom out just a bit. I see you're using the ESV, so I'll stick with that, and let's go verse by verse with what John is hearing: 6 And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.” 7 “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” 8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” 10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.” 12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Who is speaking to John in verses 6-7? You pointed out that this is a place where it seems Jesus, the alpha and omega, is speaking to John about his coming. And John heard and saw these things and fell down... is there any grammatical indication that "what he heard and saw" is not what he was just describing? Yet the one he bowed before responds “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” And then goes on. There's no indication differentiating a change in speaker from verses 9, 10, 11, 12, or 13, is there? Or, should we simply insist that John is casually speaking to the glorified son of God with no response, then suddenly some angel who's said nothing flies by and John instantly ignores the Alpha and Omega to bow before this random angel who immediately disappears again? The Watchtower might look at verse 13 and say "I don't think Jesus would say this, therefore God must have popped in to say this line, then pop out of the conversation" ... but you wouldn't find that convincing, would you? Yet, popular Christianity SEEMS to be using identical reasoning for verses 8-9, because this isn't a way they think Jesus should be described, therefore it must be some 3rd party just popping in to take the description and then leave. Is that an unfair assessment? But, if so, what does this leave us with? What would be the significance of Jesus being the one speaking to John the whole time from verses 6-13? He WOULD be the "Alpha and Omega" ... but at the same time, he would be telling people to bow to God, not him. If so, "Alpha and Omega" can be a title God can have, while demonstrably not being exclusive. This makes sense to me via 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 (ESV): 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all. I interpret this as the messianic age, the millennial kingdom, the 1000 years after Jesus returns. During that time, "all things put under his feet" means he is given all authority. God has the right to all subjection, but by putting all things under Jesus' feet, he could be granted the title "Alpha and Omega." Every knee bent with Jesus as King of Kings and Lord of Lord... with the exception of God. Temporarily, until the end of the 1000 years, after the final judgement, after which there will be no more death nor suffering nor mourning nor outcry (death itself is defeated and cast into the lake of fire). After which the Son returns all things (specifically including himself) into subjection to God. What do you think? Or, what exactly is happening in verses 8-9?
I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of your comment. I'm taking my hat off for your thoutfll, courteous, and logical argumentation. It is very rare to meet a Jehovah Witness who could dialogue in a tactful manner and offer sound principles of interpretation. You are one of a thousand. I just want to acknowledge that I got your question, and I'm thinking about it. It may take me time to formulate my thoughts. I really need to look into it before I reply.
We know it's the angel speaking in verse 6 because it's clarified in verse 1. 1: Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 6: And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place." The "he" in verse 6 is obviously refering to the angel in verse 1, i'm sure you already agreed to that :) Now let's look at verse 7. 7: "And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." Notice the part "And behold, I am coming soon"? We know it's Jesus suddenly speaking because John clarifies who the one is that's coming soon. 20: He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! If we were to now look at all the verses where the person says "I am coming soon", we can confirm wether or not the one coming is always Jesus. Revelation 3:11 "I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown." We can confirm it's Jesus speaking because of the verse right after. 12: The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name. Unless you're willing to admit Jehova has a God, i think we can both agree it's Jesus speaking. Revelation 22:12 (ESV) "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done." Again, we know it's Jesus speaking because of verse 16. 16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star." Using this obvious patern, we can conclude that it's Jesus speaking in Revelation 22:7. The reason why we know it's an angel speaking in Revelation 22:9, is because John told us he was worshiping at the feet of the angel, not Jesus. 8: I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me. We know Jesus can't be the angel John is worshiping because Jesus is the one who sent that angel. Revelation 22:16 (ESV) "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star." Using this line of thinking we can see how everything falls into place and makes sense, by far the most logical conclusion. I'm not saying this is 100% concrete evidence, you can choose to turn a blind eye to the patern and conclude it's just a coincidence, despite it being obvious. Someone can twist scripture using unlikely interpretations, coming to any conclusion they want. We are all biased to some extend, but it's up to you to be honest to yourself. One thing i can guarantee you is, you won't find contradictions in my explaination. You question wether or not it was an angel or Jesus that John worshiped, do you even have an answer? I would love to see how you would reconstruct Revelation chapter 22, showing us who is speaking where and why. I've been attending a few of your meetings at the kingdom halls lately. You're obviously nice people, but wow you guys keep handing me these flyers. It's sad that your interpretations and beliefs don't make any sense to me, would have loved to join your organisation, if if was the truth ofcourse :(

There are 1000’s of Greek NT manuscripts. Sometimes they have small differences. Textual Criticism is the discipline which analyses the manuscripts to find out the “most original”. Based on conclusions different biblical societies make their versions of the Greek NT which they think is the most original. The most popular are SBL, UBS5, NT28 and Tyndale. In footnotes, they offer variant readings so readers could see what differences exist in manuscripts.
Revelation 1:8 vs 5 It is talking about Jesus washing us with his blood (or freeing us (depending on which Greek manuscript))... this is about Jesus vs 6 the subject is the Son of God having made "us" a kingdom of priests to himself and to the Father. This continues to be about Jesus. vs 7 this verse sounds like Daniel 7:13-14 which is similar to the words of Jesus standing before the High Priest that got him killed referring to himself as the Son of Man in Daniel 7:13-14... so this too is about Jesus. vs 8 Now we have a statement where it is no longer a NARRATIVE but a QUOTE from God "I am the ALPHA and the OMEGA"...I am the first letter of the Greek alphabet and the last... that suggests "I am the first and the last"... the beginning and end. Sounds like Micah 5:2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from eternity past. Sounds like John 1:1 In the BEGINNING was the (spoken logical) WORD and the (spoken logical) Word was with God (the Father) and was DIVINE (himself). Which is like Proverbs 8 where Wisdom that was with God in the beginning as a master craftsman where God delighted in him daily, and was at God's side. Everyone talking about this passage in the early Christian writings from 1st to 3rd century AD understood this was talking about the Word... the Word and Wisdom of God was spirit of Christ. Since the context is all about Jesus leading up to the point, I really think John is talking about God the Son, Christ, begotten from Father God in the beginning when God spoke and the spirit of Christ, the Word, went forth and created the light and all of the cosmos according to the commands of his Father.
@@GreekForAll I think in one sense the Father is יהוה YhWh but so is the Word who became flesh (human... 2nd Adam).... because they share the same Spirit that is holy. Jesus declared "God is spirit." in John 4:24. The Son is begotten of the Father and they are different persons but share the same nature, i.e. a spiritual nature. We are of human nature. They, God the Father and the Son, designed man to be follow that pattern. A father begets his son that is like him.. i.e. his father. They are creatures having a beginning. But God the Father having begotten his Son, the Word, in the beginning, has a Son, like Him and both are divine. God from God as the Nicene Creed says. Jesus is both human and divine, both creature and creator, Adam and YhWh... both loved and revered. Bless you brother Stan.... agreed.
I appreciate the video, and I left a comment about that, but I also want to mention a specific detail separately here. My understanding is that Lord Jesus inherited His Father's name, Yhvh, which is referenced when he is called "The Lord", and this came to my attention a time when I was reading "having, by inheritance, obtained a more excellent name then they (the angles)" (Hebrews chapter 1). I have also seen (from Anthony Rogers) cross references that show that the Holy Spirit is also specifically Yhvh (I don't have it memorized, but the basic structure is similar to how you connected "Which Was Dead And Is Alive" to "The First And The Last" to "The Alpha And The Omega"). My understanding is that Yhvh is He Who Is, being God The Father And Son And Holy Gust, who each share the one name in their singular Godhood. Lord Jesus shares the name by inheritance, so it is firstly the Father's name, in as much as Lord Jesus inherited the name from the Father. In that sense, I can agree that Yhvh is the Father's name. At the same time, I love to highlight God's glory in Lord Jesus having inherited His name, because God is best glorified in Lord Jesus who has made Him obvious.
Praise the Lord! Stan, thank you so much for your great work. I just found out your video. would you please show us the difference between modern Greek vs Biblical Greek (ancient greek?)
I just had a thought and you all correct me if I am off. Isn't Revelation "The revelation of Jesus Christ"? Meaning Jesus is the one doing the revealing to John? So TO ME it would make sense that it's Jesus that is doing to the talking...
Absolutely. You are correct here to a degree. Keep in mind that there are many “actors” in the book of revelation speaking so it is our task to explore each context/vision to find out who speaks. On the same note, the phrase “the revelation of Jesus Christ” can also mean the revelation about Jesus, that is the whole book reveals who he is. In my opinion it means both: the revelation from him and about him.
The definite designation for Jesus is "ho protos kai ho eschatos", the First and the Final One, as in Rev 1:17,18 - ... I am the First and the Final, I am He who is living, and WAS DEAD, and lo! I am living forevermore! Then again 2:8, "I am the First and the Final, who was dead and came to life.". The definite article points to this once dead Person, who lives forevermore, and yet from the very beginning. This designation was coupled together in 22:13, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Final...". Hence this definitely identified F&F is the same as A&Ω. Then it points back to 1:8, "I am the Alpha and the Omega", says the Lord GOD, who is and who was and who is coming, the Ruler of All." And as Stan has expounded about the Coming One, coming on the clouds, to be seen by every eye, and in 1:11 like a son of man (a human being), 1:18 "I was dead and lo! I am living forevermore". Hence this F&F Person came as a human being as Daniel saw of the Son of Man on the clouds, yet reigning forever, kingdom without end. Jesus is One with the Father, identified as the One, the A&Ω, F&F. Yet He was the God who came (Immanuel), the God who died to save (Yeshua) and the God who will come, is coming (Baruch haba b'shem YHWH)!

@@Mr.DC3.1914 Well, you still have to take the words of Jesus in the Scriptures, which only goes to say He is one with the Father, one in the Trinity, one God 3 persons, His identity and essence point to His divinity, right at the beginning and lasting forever, First and Alpha, Final and Omega. The book of Revelation highlights different revelations at different junctures to John in apocalyptic language, eg Jesus is not really a lamb with seven horns, the elders are not really just 24 persons, the beasts of chapter 13 are not real wild animals, the harlot Babylon is not a real woman, etc etc. But the spiritual truths are there, including Jesus declaring He is God, was dead and yet is alive!
@@Mr.DC3.1914 Since you read Revelation 22, let's see Nothing in verses 12-15 say the Father was speaking. Verse 12 specifically said "I am coming quickly...". If you read Rev 3:11, Jesus was speaking to the churches, He said, "I am coming quickly..." and in the same chapter the speaker said "My Father" twice (v 5, 21). Go back to Rev 22, verse 7- "I am coming quickly", verse 12- "I am coming quickly", verse 20- "I am coming quickly", and a final confirmation that Jesus was the "I" speaking, the end of verse 20 - "Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus." God the Father is always on His throne and never depicted as coming to this earth. But throughout the NT Scriptures, whether by Jesus Himself, Paul, Peter, we read about the coming or Parousia of Jesus the Son of Man. He came once to die for our sins but He will come again in glory and power to judge this world and reign on earth. So Revelation 22, the I and Me are referring to Jesus, and as I have expounded, He is the First and the Final, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, all having the same meaning. And again I reiterate, 1:17,18; 2:8- "...was dead..I am living forevermore/came to life".

If Jesus were clearly "God" in Scripture, no one would need to "prove" it. It would be conspicuous.... but it is not. Jesus never teaches that he is God or claims to be God. Not in Revlation, not in John 20:28, or anywhere elese. Jesus claims to submit to God and do his God's will. Anyone who reads the Scriptures without a preconcieved bias towards lies like the trinity will see this. Jesus makes it clear in Revelation that he has a God (Rev. 3:2) whom he calls "my God" (Rev. 3:12). In fact, the very first verse of Revelation makes it clear that Jesus got the revelation from God: Revelation 1:1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, (emphasis added) Jesus praised his Apostles in his prayer to "the only true God" in John 17 for beleiving that God sent him, not for believing that he, Jesus, "is God." Their faith was that he, Jesus, was sent by God---not that he "was God," and Jesus thanked his God that his followers believed that. If Jesus wanted them to believe he, himself, was God, he would have made that clear. Jesus is like his Father, and his Father---his God---is not the author of confusion. Jesus claimed that his God and Father is the same as Mary's God and Father (John 20:17), the same God of all the Israelites, the same God the Jews claimed as their God and Father (John 8:41), the same God whom Jesus said is one and should be loved with all our hearts, souls, minds and strengths (Mark 12:29-31, Deut. 6:4). God is the head of Christ as Christ is the head of man and man the head of woman (1 Cor. 11:3). Jesus did claim to be the Messiah (Matt. 16:15-20, Mark 13:5-23, Luke 24:25-27, Luke 24:44-49, John 4:24-46). That' the "blasphemy" he was crucified for. He did NOT claim to be God. The Pharisees are the ones who falsely accused him of making himself equal with God in John 5 and John 10, and Jesus corrected them both times. Jesus submitted to his God fully and said "not my will but thy will" (Matt. 26:39). The Messiah/Christ by definition CANNOT be God. "Christ" means "anointed." God is the one who anointed Jesus (Acts 10:37-43, Luke 4:8, Is. 67:1). God did not anoint himself. God did the aniointing. God made Jesus Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36). Paul also makes it very clear that Jesus has a God (Rom. 15:6, 2 Cor. 1:3, 11:31, Eph. 1:3, 1:17, Col. 1:3) and that the Father is the one God (1 Cor. 8:6). For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim. 2:5).
The two first usages of alpha and Omega does not seem to be about Jesus at all in the book. The first has Lord the God, in some manuscripts, at least, that is not about Jesus. The second, rev 21, has a reference of being son what is not the relation to Jesus in the book. Jesus is not the father and not God in the book anywhere. The third usage, there is evidence by 22 16 that was not Jesus, but I don't know for sure who the author intended to be the speaker of verse 12 and 14, in the command variant of the passage, at least. I don't know for sure who said 22 7 also.Test the book of revelation. By the first two we can know that the author did not intended to be Jesus. This last one it does not seem to be also because of the whole book, but I don't know what it is happening in verse 22 about the speakers. Jesus is coming alone in the book, nevertheless? A point to think about. I am not saying that I agree with the book.
Rev 1:7 - there was an YES AMEN, to denote change of speaker. REv 1:8 refers to GOD Almighty and that is not the Son. Rev 1:9 speaker is John, so there is another change in speaker, as you see there John is not Jesus nor the Almighty God. Rev 4:8 shows that the " the Almighty, who was and who is and who is coming.”" in verse 9 it says "to the One seated on the throne, the One who lives forever and ever," so he is the ONE SEATED ON THE THRONE. then Rev 5:1-3 shows that the ONE Seated on the throne has the scroll and is DIFFERENT from the one who can open the scroll. as mentioned in the text "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or underneath the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it. " Rev 5:1 shows who can OPEN the scrolls and it is different from GOD who is SEATED on the Throne "“Stop weeping. Look! The Lion of the tribe of Judah,b the rootc of David,d has conquerede so as to open the scroll and its seven seals.”" Rev 5:7 shows that the LAMB took that scroll from his hand "At once he came forward and took it out of the right hand of the One seated on the throne.j" so JESUS THE LAMB is DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE SEATED ON THE THRONE, THE ONE WHO WAS AND WHO IS COMING
There's an error that most don't realize that the majority that preach from the Bible don't have in the message they preach unknowingly. That's y u don't know the interpretation of John 3:8 or what everyone born of the spirit has in common with what it says in the scripture. U would know it if u knew the truth and I don't know it cuz I'm smart. If u don't know it its just cuz no one has shown u and u won't get the interpretation cuz your smart. The answer to the interpretation is in chapters 2 and 10 of the book of Acts
καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος; This is a predicate nominative... Jesus is God and God is Jesus. John used the word 'Word' which is a Hebraism for Jehovah
Yes, I mentioned that the Bible doesn't directly states the speaker. So we get this info from the context. In your references 1:9; 22:8, 16, the speaker is directly identified to indicate the change of the speaker and to avoid ambiguity and confusion. However, when there is no clear identification, the change of the speaker MUST be clearly shown, otherwise, it would violate rules of discourse and logic. Such change is not observed in 22:12-13, so the speaker is the same.
Rev 1;17 says "... I am the first and last." The one speaking claims to be God Himself. The next verse Rev 1;18 goes on to say "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen". The one speaking declares clearly that He is none other than Jesus Himself by saying He lived, died and is alive forever. You cannot say that the Father died. Only Jesus did.
@@PizentuDeWind I don't saw the claiming in Rev 1 17 that the person who said this, according to the book, in that instance is God. I agree that the father did not died. God does not die. This is proof that Jesus is not God.

what translation do you use? The Bibles I have don’t say anything about the ONE SEATED on the throne in Rev 21:6. Furthermore, the argument that the Alpha and Omega in Rev 22 must be the Father because everyone else is mentioned except him is absurd for 2 reasons: 1. There are whole Bible books without mentioning God even once. 2. My Bibles mention God (the Father) several times in Rev 22:1, 3, 5, 6, 9. If you compare the prologue in Rev 1 and the epilogue in Rev 22, God (the Father), Jesus, and the Spirit are all mentioned. Finally, Rev 3:21 states that Jesus SITS on the throne with the Father.

Such a lie of the devil that started in the 3rd century. Many Christians were killed for not accepting the trinity lie Jesus is God!!! Yes, it’s a big topic. That is why I prefer to approach it in small tidbits of information. Here we deal with Alpha and Omega in Rev 22:13. Do you have anything to add to this discussion?
@@GreekForAll Yes I have a lot more to add to this discussion but I tried to show the truth to many Christians and none of them change their minds. Too much pride, too much cognitive dissonance. I once was so discouraged I asked God to send me humble Christians who were not sure about the trinity and questioned it. They were in the same state I was and I shared my knowledge and they were so relieved to see the truth. I mean, if a humble Christian ask God for the truth on this topic, God will prove them by many verses how Jesus cannot and is not God. Alpha and Omega : God has no beginning and no end. Jesus has a beginning and no end. So there's another one proving Jesus is not God. There are so many verses that testify Jesus is not God.
@@missymac7804 such fundamental beliefs are not easy to change. Why do you say that Jesus has a beginning if he bears the same title as God: alpha and omega, first and last, etc?
Great Job! Another important verse that refers to Jesus--but which people often misapply to the Father--is Rev. 1:8: “ ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.’ “ The reason this reference is to Jesus is two-fold. 1. As you correctly pointed out, Jesus is consistently called “the Alpha and the Omega” throughout the book of Revelation. 2. We are not expecting the Father to come. The only one who is expected to come can only be Jesus Christ, because his coming is prophesied repeatedly in the New Testament! And the conclusion is rather extraordinary because Revelation 1:8 is not simply telling us that Jesus is God, but that he is also “the Almighty”! Wow! Awesome!
@@STROND No evidence? Just an opinion? Let me get this straight. You are claiming that both me and Stan have misunderstood who the A & O refers to? If you can prove otherwise, why don’t you tell us?

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus Christ
You equate YHWH with the Father only but I have the understanding that YHWH is a reference to God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and not just the person of the Father.
This would seem evident from things like "The LORD is my life and my salvation" (Psalm 27), "The Spirit of the LORD speaks by me" (2 Sam 23) [note that the Spirit is also called Christ's Spirit in the N.T.) or any other number of passages where YHWH/The LORD appears with human likeness.
I would be interested in your thoughts.
I do agree with you. You can watch my video: “Does Paul refer to Jesus as Yahweh?”
In this specific video, I don’t remember speaking about the name YHWH, so not sure where you extracted my view from.
I haven’t included my full research and all the evidences in this video to make it brief. All in all, I do believe that Yahweh is the name shared by the Father and the Son (I assume by the Spirit too but I haven’t researched it yet).
Hello Stan! At what email can I contact you?
stan@greekforall.com
I see you're using the ESV, so I'll stick with that, and let's go verse by verse with what John is hearing:
6 And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.” 7 “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”
10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”
12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Who is speaking to John in verses 6-7?
This makes sense to me via 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 (ESV):
24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.
And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place."
The "he" in verse 6 is obviously refering to the angel in verse 1, i'm sure you already agreed to that :)
Now let's look at verse 7.
7: "And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."
Notice the part "And behold, I am coming soon"? We know it's Jesus suddenly speaking because John clarifies who the one is that's coming soon.
20: He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
If we were to now look at all the verses where the person says "I am coming soon", we can confirm wether or not the one coming is always Jesus.
Revelation 3:11
"I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown."
We can confirm it's Jesus speaking because of the verse right after.
Revelation 22:12 (ESV)
"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done."
Again, we know it's Jesus speaking because of verse 16.
16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."
Using this obvious patern, we can conclude that it's Jesus speaking in Revelation 22:7.
Revelation 22:16 (ESV)
"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."
Using this line of thinking we can see how everything falls into place and makes sense, by far the most logical conclusion.
It's sad that your interpretations and beliefs don't make any sense to me, would have loved to join your organisation, if if was the truth ofcourse :(

what's the difference between SBL Greek New Testament vs the original copy of NT
In footnotes, they offer variant readings so readers could see what differences exist in manuscripts.

vs 5 It is talking about Jesus washing us with his blood (or freeing us (depending on which Greek manuscript))... this is about Jesus
vs 6 the subject is the Son of God having made "us" a kingdom of priests to himself and to the Father.
Sounds like Micah 5:2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old, from eternity past.
Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated.
Also keep in mind, there are at least 3 strong evidences that 1:8 can refer to the Father. It can go both ways.
As always your precise teaching is refreshing. PTE!!!
Aaaaaah okay, thank you@@GreekForAll for explaining that to me. I really appreciate it.

Very well expounded!

Well, you still have to take the words of Jesus in the Scriptures, which only goes to say He is one with the Father, one in the Trinity, one God 3 persons, His identity and essence point to His divinity, right at the beginning and lasting forever, First and Alpha, Final and Omega.
@@Mr.DC3.1914
Since you read Revelation 22, let's see
Nothing in verses 12-15 say the Father was speaking.

Great video! These are so helpful in teaching my children to love God's Word and to study it closely.
Glad it was helpful
If Jesus were clearly "God" in Scripture, no one would need to "prove" it. It would be conspicuous.... but it is not. Jesus never teaches that he is God or claims to be God. Not in Revlation, not in John 20:28, or anywhere elese. Jesus claims to submit to God and do his God's will. Anyone who reads the Scriptures without a preconcieved bias towards lies like the trinity will see this.
Jesus makes it clear in Revelation that he has a God (Rev. 3:2) whom he calls "my God" (Rev. 3:12). In fact, the very first verse of Revelation makes it clear that Jesus got the revelation from God:
Revelation 1:1
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, (emphasis added)
Jesus praised his Apostles in his prayer to "the only true God" in John 17 for beleiving that God sent him, not for believing that he, Jesus, "is God." Their faith was that he, Jesus, was sent by God---not that he "was God," and Jesus thanked his God that his followers believed that.
Did you intentionally erase Paul's letters from your Bible? He is very clear about the nature of Jesus Christ. God the son!
AMEN thank you
The two first usages of alpha and Omega does not seem to be about Jesus at all in the book.
Thank you this was very helpful and clear. I appreciated your approach.
God bless your heart!

The answer to the interpretation is in chapters 2 and 10 of the book of Acts

καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος;
This is a predicate nominative... Jesus is God and God is Jesus.
John used the word 'Word' which is a Hebraism for Jehovah
Very interesting
What is predicative nominative according to your view? This text does not say Jesus.
@@GreekForAll If this is the case, the angel spoke it by the verse 9, but he is a messenger. I am not say that O agree with the book, just commenting.

Another important verse that refers to Jesus--but which people often misapply to the Father--is Rev. 1:8:
“ ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.’ “
The reason this reference is to Jesus is two-fold.
Wow! Awesome!
