In this video Canadian Guitarist/producer Dean Wolfe reacts to an instrumental called Without Holding Back by Band-Maid.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician, on the road at age 17 for two years, then went part-time ever since, while holding day careers including chef and spiritual health care while raising a family.
As a producer I've made hundreds of my own songs for media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I mostly abandoned the prog genre in the 90s but have returned to it now with vigour 30 years later. So much prog! My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk / acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electronic as well).

Dean, Band-Maid possesses so much talent and creativity and yes, beauty, that no matter what they do, be it Hard Rock, ballads, instrumentals, acoustics, anime themes, music videos, streamed concerts, Live concerts, even interviews, they are infectious and compelling and entertaining and that's before you get to the earworm music they give us. They are my favorite band ever and you may know I go back to the 60's and 70's. So that's saying something. BAND-MAID is AWESOMAZING. Peace.

Thanks for the reaction. You're correct, it's hard to look away when they're playing (some of the fan cams from the recent tour show this song). Each song from their recent EP are just little masterpieces.
They played "from now on" and "Onset", but not this one on the tour.
This is one of the songs where they also did a complete video of each Maid for the whole song. Misa's is brilliant. Akane's really shows how much work she puts in for a whole song on the kit. Miku is also so busy. And Kanami? Well what can be said. Do a bit of a search. You'll easily find them. And other songs in the same format too.

They have a new instrumental called From Now On. Sounds like it could be a movie score.
I'm glad this is getting love. With "From Now On" and "Onset" being so popular, it's easy to forget about this gem and "Don't Be Long".
You know what, no male rock band ever do a music like that. But this girl make male band looks cute by them.

"From Now On" has a video, but it's the opposite... a dark stage and spotlights.
Great combo of the cinematography and music on that one, for sure. Gotta be be in the top five band-in-a-room MVs ever imho, although it does get extra points for being an instrumental and still utterly jaw-dropping.

This song has a potential to have vocal in there, can hear saiki's voice in there( my imagination)
This could be a perfect Nemo-Maid song. I can see Saiki and Saki (Nemophila)'s growl in this piece.
@@lurkmerchant the thing about these girls, the way kanami writes the musical parts is actually instrumental as the base... I think she writes them from piano playing as piano can produce multiple melodies at a given time compare to guitar. Seen this with miyako as well from lovebites. So if they not include as singer it's still a legit instrumental masterpiece. Remember the song 'play'? That was an instrumetal in their early days, but miku like it so much she came up lyrics & singing melodiy for it. That's just mho.
