+Mom O'rama Hi Mom O'rama, we have a website of the same name with about 170 videos on it, organized by topic. You should check it out, and thanks for your compliments!
Another super video ! Always wonder if there's any theory behind setting the chain length for optimal filling time and closure? And what about the flappers with a little float on the chain? Thanks as always, now we can do it!
Seejanedrill, out of curiosity, I'm getting a similar sound, and water is running into the bowl slowly, I was wondering if you would think of anything else other than this, maybe thee bolts? I was planning on purchasing a flapper and any other related items that may do this for a few bucks ad home depot.
sometimes mineral deposits accumulate on the valve seat that the flapper rests atop. It's that build up which prevents the flapper from doing its j0b successfully of keeping water in the tank until the fixture is flushed. The following seejanedrill video link shows how to fix this problem. ua-cam.com/video/jh4M5tuahwM/v-deo.html
Ach! How about the stupid old Kholer tank with the funky ball flap! We just replaced it with a modern stick to bottom unit and it still has this teeeeeny trickle. My husband says actual valve on wall is leaking. What say you?
Chana Nemetsky Hello Chana, When water leaks from the tank into the bowl, chances are, it's either the flapper or flush valve seat (the opening from the tank to the bowl). You've replaced the flapper, so next, I'd empty the tank and clean the valve seat with vinegar. This will get rid of mineral deposits. Scrub it well, get it really clean, and afterwards rub petroleum jelly around the opening and on the bottom of the flapper. That should remedy the problem. If your husband suspects the water supply valve is leaking, it would be in addition to the flapper issue. Hope this helps.
Oh OK it sounds like my problem is the fluidmaster. My tank will not fill up. It's a fairly new toilet. When I flush each time I have to take the top off the tank and dump water in it with a pail! (I know, sounds funny, huh?)
I was going to call a plumber, but, "I CAN DO THIS"!
Thank you, Leah! You are my "go to" person for diy projects at home. I appreciate you!❤
Thanks Leah! The noise from the leaky flapper has finally convinced me I need to do this.
Solved my problem, thank you very much.
Thank you so much for the great video, I was able to replace the old, leaking valve and now no more running toilet!
