I looked at your engine to replace mine. It is really close. I believe X-Pro lists it wrong. I researched and found out that it is the zongshen 140cc engine. I watched a couple of videos on that engine and it is very impressive. You definitely have a great engine from the get go. Upgrade the carb and your good to go.
quick tip for setting cam timing. . . . roll camshaft so its holding both valves barely open. valve spring pressure will hold it in time. set bottom to tdc. install chain. . . now this will be 180° out on the cam, but roll the crank 1 turn ull see its right. it sets timing on camshaft "centerline"
@justjesse16 The 28 tooth cam sprocket was wrong it was supposed to be a 32 sprocket I messed up and assumed I had the right sprocket. The 28 tooth sprocket caused it to jump time when turning over and open the valves at the wrong time making the piston hit the valve.
@@eltaco2239 They are all pretty similar. If you take it apart and take note of where everything is. You can use the instructions in that kit to help you put yours back together. That's what we did.
@@MartinRacingChannelYeah power wise. And I'm 5'10" and the seat height spec on the 150 vs 125 dosent look that much on paper is it really that different?
The storm 150 zongshen 143 says 9.1 hp the 149cc in the xpro hawk says 12.92hp. The race kit on the 125 is supposed to double the hp it's at around 7 to the rwhp from my research. So the race kit seems stronger ,but the bike with the 149cc should be pretty stout.
It was kind of a prototype build. They had just released the kit. I should have measured and told them exactly what I had. That's why I wanted to make the videos so that when anybody decides to upgrade, they can learn from my experiences.😁
It has a ton of power now. I just haven't been able to fully test it because I've had other issues each time it was built. The first time in this video. I didn't realize they sent a 28 tooth cam sprocket until it was too late. Whenever I turned it over by hand it bent a valve😒 I smoked the whole engine. Then I just recently redid it and the bike was a BEAST. I rode for about 20 -30mins around the track only up to 3/4 throttle. I jumped a table top and the chain slipped off and wrapped into the front sprocket in 3rd gear and messed up the transmission. So I got a whole new engine and I'm about to start all over😁 It's so fast it feels like your cheating competition wise😏
@@MartinRacingChannel got me excited. do they make an aftermarket case save for these bikes? if not i may consider butchering the chain guard case and fabbing one at work. thers tons of scrap aluminum and we gt a milling machine. saddly we havent rode much. we finally gt moved in new house and gt more work on the shop done so just no free time. but loving the vids. might have to come dwn and ride with yall sumtime.
@justjesse16 I haven't found an aftermarket case yet. I'm sure they have them. I've found that there are a lot of parts for these bikes you just have to do a ton of searching.

@MotoMeat That's what part 3 is for coming soon😏 It takes a lot longer to edit videos than most think. I got about 6 hours in this one. I'll try to edit and release the other video quickly. That's why I answer questions super quick and write in the description what the video is about.
@MotoMeat Everything in the video is done correctly. If you were to install a kit this is what you would have to do exactly. The cam sprocket that was sent caused the issue in this video.
Im so glad I bought the 150cc Storm so I didnt have to do this right away! My cylinder looks like your upgrade, nothin like the stock 125 cylinder

Thanks man. I've had it together and back apart so many times now it's gotten way easier lol.
@@MartinRacingChannel did u have to change head for valves to clear or just a thicker headgasket. or was valve timing just slightly off?

@nicm5616 150cc is for a taller rider and a nice trail bike, the storm 125cc with the 12/14 setup is small like a pitbike
