Love it when Dylan is making music with friends of his he's always enjoying himself, the songs with cash and the travelling wilburys you can see him actually having fun and not just feeling obligated
My father listen to Hank williams and sang all of his music I started to listen to Bob Dylan in scotland I was hooked after the first song my first album was Bob Dylan today I am still listening to Bob just saw him with my son Dylan at portcheste in Nov he is 81 and still going strong peace 🎼🎹🎤🎸

What a fantastic duet and no question about the integrity of this message.Deepest kind of spiritual enlightenment born out of the trials and tribulations of this world. With the deepest respect for Mr. Bob Dylan and the late great Mr.Johnny Cash.
I've really fear, it's not sensible, what I say now l, Bob where ever I was, he gave me a feeling to be home. Jonny and me we have the same interests since more than 50 years. But we never let them win, the difference ingredients to get high. The Kids now, did not know what it means to be high. Alweer "a timeless masterpiece".
This is another great example of how every Bob Dylan song can be reworked as something else. Two great musical minds at these microphones. Thanks for posting this. The closeups are great!
I am so glad I got to see Johnny live at the top of his game. It was during the era when Punk had taken hold (late ‘70s.) Johnny came out, and without saying it literally, he said: “ You ain’t seen nothing!”
@Comrade Kong I agree with you 100%. I do not like Jobs either. I was just stating that was his favorite job. In fact the apple symbol is evil. Has a bite taken out of it. like in the garden of Eden and the forbidden fruit.
This made Dylan SING! I love it 2nd verse he’s back to his talk… but he’s got a singing voice I never heard, & I’m a Dylan fan still am!❤ Now Johnny Cash is JC😉💞
@@4192362They're actually playing E, A and B7 for the Cash verses, then G, C and D7 for the Dylan ones. Everything is tuned a bit sharp, but not a whole semitone. It's great alternative arrangement of a great song
A perfect moment captured in a bottle. Dylan's voice at its' best, and Cash practically sounds like God in this. Love the part at 1:55 where Cash adlibs 'Bob' into the song, and you can see Dylan gleaming with joy that his idol acknowledged him like that.
Zwei der Besten Sänger zusamnen.❤ Ganz wunderbar. Sehr schön anzuhören wie die beiden zusamnen singen und Gitarre spielen.😊 Vielen Dank! Cooler Song!❤👌 🙏💖🕉😎
Down the street the dogs are barkin' And the day is a-gettin' dark. As the night comes in a-fallin', The dogs 'll lose their bark. An' the silent night will shatter From the sounds inside my mind, For I'm one too many mornings And a thousand miles behind. From the crossroads of my doorstep, My eyes they start to fade, As I turn my head back to the room Where my love and I have laid. An' I gaze back to the street, The sidewalk and the sign, And I'm one too many mornings An' a thousand miles behind. It's a restless hungry feeling That don't mean no one no good, When ev'rything I'm a-sayin' You can say it just as good. You're right from your side, I'm right from mine. Two of the biggest icons in American music history Johnny cash the greatest storyteller in music and Bob dylan the best songwriter in history Doesn't get better than this in my opinion
Its so Strange, maybe from different backgrounds but brought together to bring us something beyond the ordinary so we should treasure them both R I P Johnny and Bob the greatest ever
This was before my time, however i 've learned to adapt. Sadly this ain't something for everybody. These gents brought joy, anyone willing to follow them?
I love everything about CASH! But if I could take anything from this world with me to Heaven after I die. And I had this recording of John and Bob, verses the second recording a few year’s later of John and Waylon, both versions in a studio setting……. This is the one I would choose! 1 Timothy 6:7
I miss the days when the music was more important than the egos.
😊
The power in Cash’s voice is biblical.
well said
Estilo voz de Deus ou algum profeta muito poderoso
You said it
. Wouldn't want to follow that cat at any stage. 1 only.
When we hear thunder I say to my kids “that’s Cash up there singing again”
Bob Dylan has always had an amazing voice!! But YOU SEE??? That whole weeoooiwww was just putting you ON, BECAUSE HE CAN!! Genius signature!
I absolutely love Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan playing together, Elizabeth ❤️
Here I am. Alone again, as usual on a cold winter night, listening to this song on repeat. I love my life

I don't love my life but I am in the same exact situation as you with this fantastic song
Two of the greatest songwriters/storytellers there has ever been.
Roger that!
My Bob Dylan love Johnny Cash before his Bob Dylan

Can you just imagine the fun they had making this? I hope there is a rock and roll heaven.

Key changes for their respective parts? Wow. Cash has a voice as big as a canyon.
The key signature modulations they use to stay within their perfect range are a brilliant innovation! These two icons had a deep partnership!

I have been into music since 1966 and still there are songs out there for me to discover, happy days
Amazing, this viddy is a masterpiece.

My father loved Johnny Cash..I was playing my guitar 🎸 n he grabbed it n I sang Bob Dylan with him.
Lol..I want to see Bob Dylan so 😞
Then the silent night will shatter from the sounds inside my mind.
Best duo to come out of Nashville for my money. Cash's voice and Dylan's words.
clarkewi and Dylan’s voice
Such different voices and genres but this is sheer bliss.
I am so glad I got to see Johnny live at the top of his game. It was during the era when Punk had taken hold (late ‘70s.) Johnny came out, and without saying it literally, he said: “ You ain’t seen nothing!”
Saw him back in the day.
I even talked to Johnny on the cb radio when iwas driving trucks outside of Nashville 1977
Classic song and Steve Jobs said it his in favorite song. Cash & Dylan does it get any better. America.s two greatest songwriters

How wonderful is your voice Johnny Cash, a kind and strong voice that beats the heart before the ear
wow bob dylans singing sounds incredible in this
Two good friends,i really love to see Johnny and Bob smiling,I miss Johnny ,Bob sang great together ,
Brings us joy,doesnt it?❤😂❤
This is the best version that isn’t the original. Love the key change when Bob comes in 😂 and then it goes back down when Johnny does the third verse
To the greatest to ever do it
Dylan's early voices are so smooth w. a singular lilt of lovebirds lulling you to sleep.
This made Dylan SING! I love it 2nd verse he’s back to his talk… but he’s got a singing voice I never heard, & I’m a Dylan fan still am!❤ Now Johnny Cash is JC😉💞
There is no way to over appreciate this.
The band modulates between F and Ab for Johnny and Bob's verses to match their singing voices. Very subtle but it sounds great
The Tennessee Three Johnny’s backing band played tuned up a step so this to them is E A and D.
Cash changes keys five times in "I Walk The Line". I had not previously understood why I couldn't easily sing along.

Sounds like God describes it perfectly
You dont know Dylan wrote the song?
This was how Bob Johnson produced - he just pressed record and sat back and let them sing.
I know there are a lot of bob Dylan fans out there but Johnny cash puts bob Dylan to shame on this song no doubt about it
