To hear Johnny laughing as he's singing whilst Dylan plays with random names of towns, and he joins in with "Duluth", put a big smile on my face.
That first verse is really nice.
I'm sitting here totally laughing my head off. What a treasure this is!
Haha your so right
I think Bob Dylan's actually from the Duluth area. That's why it cracked him up.
@@thefenerbahcesk4156 Stating the obvious a little there pal :P

I honestly love the fact that this isn’t polished. All the more fun to listen to. “Wanted man in Hibbing” gets me every time.
Swingin’ Pig Agreed.
So true!!! This is gold to me!!!👌🏻
aye pig (:
I think the song would have been much better if Johnny had the lyrics or the ability to improvise they way Bob did.
Rochelle Hannan oh you miss the point of this It’s not about getting it perfect it is 1st take which is basically the same as a sound check!!! If you record you know that messing up lyrics or the music happens to even the best artists. So once Johnny knew that it was not going to be “the one” he had fun with it started to name other places on purpose such as Hibbing which is Bob’s home town! Lol The love , friendship and playfulness between them is the whole point of this video!
Dear Johnny I bought the ticket but the rain came and you cancelled the tour, so we got drunk and brawled each other in a crowded bar. Rockhampton Australia.
Beautiful sounds
Had such a profound horrible two years of constant hardships. Hearing this made me smile and feel good for the first time in years. Thanks for this!
Good
Would you say you’re a man of constant sorrow?
@Czternastek - takie nazwisko musi być zabójcze dla nich, coś jak Brzęczyszczykiewicz.. :-)
That's the power of good music, I'm right there with you brother!
I’m so sorry. Just remember that you’re not alone! When you can see the pain of others it lessens your own!
"Wanted man in this next town" is such a great lyric; he doesn't even know where he is going but he knows there will be trouble there.
I wonder if Johnny Cash ever knew where he was or what the next lyrics were to this song
It's funny because I thought in the prison version of this he said "Tex town". A single word can really change the meaning of a line
@@longjohns7087 I always thought he says "Tex town" too
Haha that's great never picked up on that first time round!
@David Ortiz "Soon the horse will take us to Durango"
Fluffed lyrics, Cash's broken voice, Dylan's laughter - Perfection!
This is what music is all about.
You got it right bro
Bob naming towns from around where he was from and Johnny naming towns around where he was from. Haha this is so great.
remembering Johnny Cash's God's Gonna Cut You Down, Bob would sing Wanted man in Galilee

JOHNNY CASH IS A LEGEND. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER MAN IN BLACK.
Two amazing singers together and having fun...this might be history.
History, It Is!
Johnny Cash loved the raw talent of Bob Dylan. They were the outlaws of the music world doing their own thing and Cash respected that and knew it when he heard it. Johnny Cash stood up for Bob Dylan during his first record contract.
"Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover ever"
Bob and Johnny: hold my guitar..
They actually sang some more songs together
иван забежинский: They recorded at least one entire collaboration album.
I actually wouldn't call IW a crossover, since they're all Marvel owned. If it was like Thor and Batman, now that's a crossover :O
Best UA-cam comment EVER. Full Stop.
Pierre Dunn только сейчас увидел ваш коммент. И мне очень приятно увидеть здесь русскоговорящего) Вам тоже доброй ночи;)
"Honey, I don't want to interrupt your train of thought, but be sure that Bob puts the melody for that song, that ‘Wanted Man,’ you forgot the melody."
It's like, "Honey, don't forget your lunchbox! Did you remind Bob to pack the melody? Did he bring it?" As if sending off husband and friend on their fishing trip(, but fishing for Song). And it's a long train trip (on the train of thought). Gotta bring that Melody! "Just food for thought, boys. Now go have fun! Bring back something good."
She means : stop talking the lyrics and begin singing a melody .
They never did add it
A wise woman!

Johnny Cash has always been my favourite from country and Bob Dylan has always been my favourite for a long time
That’s awesome that these 2 LEGENDS were friends. Music is such a beautiful thing.
One of the greatest folk duets in history. The photo/video collage brings the words to life. I agree with other comments that the words and their personalities add humor and enjoyment.
Girl from the North Country was first song i heard from these 2 greats.
@Bob Dylan Wow thank you for your acknowledgement of my comment, thank you for giving a small part of yur time to us all, and putting a few lines in reply. Not just here but with every song, every tune, every melody, thank you for sharing with us all. It was not expected to see a comment back, but dealy appreciated.
My folks, opened my eyes to yesteryears music and my stepdad made it clear to me if it wasnt for music of their time we wouldnt have wat we hear today. Great talent over the years, they all gave a part to them for one simple thing we all have in common, the love of it.
Mom, Dad, thank you for sharing with me good music, as this artist here, Mr. Dylan, as they showed me and i instantly enjoyed.
And my digging and digging into many tracks and records of Johnny Cash and I came across Cash/Dylan sample of Girl from North Country, and i had to find full recording. Its a piece that means a lot to me as i found that song title wrote by mother in few of her journals and books. It was a song that meant something to her and she cherrished, and for me to find a sample of it and hear it again, it pushed me to find an actual full recording of Dylan/Cash, it makes it much more special. Greats like yu, like Cash and all the many others, its all appreciated. Thank you for your words and do know your music continues to shine on and having meaning forever.
Never too young to Rock, never too old to Roll.

Epic. Half of my heroes here. I can't help but look up to them. Everyone should be themselves but there's nothing wrong with having influences. Johnny Cash is the best thing we've ever produced here in Arkansas. I've got to get down to Little Rock and see Bob Dylan.. I mean, I'm almost 36 and he could outlive me still but I thought my grandpa would too and there's only 4 years difference in their age. Bob Dylan is a legend but he's what, nearly 82? I just want to see him while I can.
That`s right Johnny, "you`ve got class" too.
JOHNNY CASH IS A MUSIC ICON AND LEGEND. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER MAN IN BLACK ⚫️ 💔 😕 🖤
I love this and Girl From the North Country.
Couple of guys having fun, no matter they both top of the tree all thru the years.
Thank them both for giving us their stories thru music, I'm 66 now and prob appreciate them more as I get on
Music is all about having fun. When I realized how goofy bands like the doors, pink floyd, led zeppelin, etc... were, it made me fall in love with them. Music shouldn't be taken so seriously if you ask me.
This is fantastic.......you can hear how much fun it was for both of them and Dylan's vocals are syrupy sweet.....I loved this entire period for Bob vocally. The command and power of his vocals was amazing from the very beginning right through until his Saved album....nobody could put such playful, beautiful, or edgy emphasis on vocals like Dylan.....as kids, we'd try to sing along to the songs that touched are hearts and felt the depth of them in our souls.....he'd make you laugh, cry, feel anger, love, broken hearted.....whatever the song was about.....we'd feel it deeply......his vocals drove these powerful songs ....Dylan is the greatest singer songwriter of all time in my book because of it.
I've been thinking the same for about 20 years now. You said it my friend.
This is so honest. I love it.
This Song was featured in the soundtrack of the film ' Little Fauss and big Halsy ' made by Sidney J. Furie with Robert Redford. A Great movie. I have the OST on vinyl. The year was 1970.
these two loved each other so easy to see that...they never reached success together but ...it didnt change the respect they had for each other....rip john
I've been a fan of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash for a long time. This is a Bob Dylan composition where he was heavily influenced by the songwriting style of Johnny Cash. I was also wondering where I could find this on CD, and I managed to find it, while I was looking for other music. I only saw Bob Dylan live. I did not see Johnny Cash live. However, I did see Roseanne Cash live. I think this makes perfect sense for Bob Dylan to venture into country music, based on what he was doing musically, prior to this in the 1960s. It's nice to have this bit of great music history shared with the world.

BOB 'N JOHN,,,,THANK YOU LORD
there is a special chemistry here, off the cuff , brilliant creative minds bouncing ideas off each other. You can't recreate these moments of magic.
The point is, it's Take 1, and already this good.
Justin Newcomb I think that a lot of bands and artists back then wrote their own songs, so a lot of studio time was trial and error. They didn’t just have a beat and sheet of lyrics laid out for them like many artists do now (not to say modern stuff is all bad, just a different time back then.) And to the practice part... it depends. I’ve heard that Dylan was very spontaneous, so if an idea hit him, he’d always record it and see how it turned out. Hence the 15 installations of the “bootleg series.” On the contrary, bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd would have everything written down, rehearsed, and ready to go before their first studio session. Vocals, harmony, guitar solos, EVERYTHING. So yeah, it depends on the musician I suppose.
@@yeetusmymeatus4008 Before Dylan, singers sang & recorded songs mostly written & published by others, usually Tin Pan Alley. He was first to have an album written entirely by himself.
That's just one way he helped change modern music.
God bless him, he's still out there touring.
