      Better to drive despite what the narrator says than any Beamer, Merc or Dull as ditch-water Audi.Mine's the 3.0 V6 Supercharged Petrol and it outpaces a BMW z4 in Drive with Dynamic mode turned, about off 2 hours ago.The difference is he was trying and I was not!

    To be clear it was the UK government that lent them money to invest in the new generation of cars. It is noted that the second generation XF appears to have got it right which appears to be the path of the smaller XE model. The Evoke and the EX are make or break models for this company making pricing critical. The motoring press all think that to put cars on drives in sufficient numbers and convert buyers to the brand to save this company prices are too high by 10 %. The evoke entry level should be at 25 450 while the XE entry should start at 25,950. The average extra pack increases the final sales price depending on the model. it is important to offer too good to be true value in each of these segments to pull through next generation technology to match the German r and d offerings planned for the market.
    Have they got this right NO.
    Will they get it right to save jaguar ? Only if they sack a lot of last generation sales and marketing people asap.

      Brexit ought to see stronger UK sales, however, in the M/E you can't go 20 seconds on the road without seeing a JLR product. In fact I'd say twice or three times the prestige German brands other than Mercedes top end or Porsche. The new F-Pace is sensational and attracting immense interest in foreign markets.So, I would be inclined to disagree to an extent with your comment. JLR is a far bigger export phenomena than domestic appeal would suggest. My XF is a nonsense of a car to own in the UK as for one it is Petrol, second it is Supercharged, as a result I fill up twice a week for my commute round trip of 60Km. But here in Qatar with petrol prices around 20p per litre, what a car to own! Jags get under your skin and make you smile like no other general production car, because they are so quirky, they go like stink, handle like a dream and make the driver feel like they are in a very special place.

      You should really add two factors here export driven sales due to the low pound and increasing interest in the luxury car market for where it is made. To me its a shoot out between BMW 5 series and Jaguar XF with the next generation FPace in mix. The Mercades is not on the radar as its not made in Germany anymore leaving a question mark on quality from whatever factory around the world supplies it. From Buyer appeal the Mercedes is soo ugly...just why they could not just hire a English designer all their worries would be over.
      Jaguar still has fundamental problems for me. the poor choice of trims,colour combinations, the bizzar use at black inside at every opportunity,oversized central console,and the overpriced extras.

    • @henrysiegertsz8204
      @henrysiegertsz8204 8 років тому +1

      Peter, Pretty much totally agree.
      However, I bought mine as an ex Demo car with less just 700Km on the clock.
      The interior is Fawn Leather, the Dash is Dark Grey with self coloured stitching, all in all very pleasing.
      Jag interiors are not far off the admittedly better finished Mercs, but the driving feel and theatrical touches make the car feel different and special to me!
      No car is to everyone's taste, and I'm very glad of it.
      Merc bashing is a moot point, they are good cars as are BMW and Audi.
      Each to his own, which for me is the best affordable luxury British car in the last 40 years.

    1:06 I don't like the look here. The bulge in the bonnet is a bit too much and the crease is too sharp. Then it flattens over the headlights and the wing has another sharp crease. It looks familiar but unresolved. It does look better from other angles though.

    ''Upright, F-type type grills'' hello, that's the whole point in taking this car to the highest Level!! The older one looks a dinosaur by comparison.

    • @henrysiegertsz8204
      @henrysiegertsz8204 8 років тому

      I disagree, I prefer the look of my 2014 model's continuous bonnet line compared to the massive single piece polycarbonate nose piece of the new car and that new truncated bonnet, ( or Hood, for our Atlantic cousins). The break line between it and the nose piece is hideous and ruins the aesthetic of the front of the car, I also think the rear of the Old car is far nicer than the new one with the exception of those F-Typeesque Tail Light clusters, Mmmm! The huge oval exhaust tail pipes are now gone, replaced with mediocre looking round ones.Overall though the structural improvements brought by the Aluminium intensive chassis, and the superb new suspension along with the beautiful new Coachlines from front to back, make the new car a show stopper.

    • @netweed09
      @netweed09 5 років тому

      fair enough but Upright grilles will always be synonymous with more hip and Modern; otherwise Ian would have never given the beautiful (and successful) XE one!

    previous xf was looks better from outside to me than this new xf and the interior of this new jag xf is again boring and dated in term of deign and defiantly it cant compete with Germans in quality,fit-finish,attention to detail and reliability .

    • @Incudius
      @Incudius 8 років тому

      +Pankaj Tayal I agree, the old XF is a very pretty car and the XE styling on this new one does not quite suit it. It is shorter as well and that really spoils the look.

    • @AdrianoCROST
      @AdrianoCROST 8 років тому

      +Pankaj Tayal I would add ugly steering wheel.
      They must get back to X type-XJ8 design. S type was also nice. This extra large black grill is always ugly. Rolls Royce did even bigger failure with that. Also rear end looks little cheap and that is not good for expensive car.

    • @henrysiegertsz8204
      @henrysiegertsz8204 8 років тому +2

      German reliability is a perception which has absolutely no grounding in fact! German cars are statistically poorer than average in terms of reliability in all reputable impartial ratings, the highest being Japanese made cars.

    • @henrysiegertsz8204
      @henrysiegertsz8204 7 років тому

      Don't believe all the German car manufacturers tell you about their reliability or Emissions specs.
      They lie and they cheat, by clever marketing using selective data.
      Jags of old were notoriously unreliable, as were equivalent German offerings.
      When VW in the 90's were around 40th in the customer satisfaction ratings for reliability, (Honda/ Toyota at the to). VW were advertising under the slogan "If everything in life were as reliable as a Volkswagen". That message reinforced by continual repetition in the media, made a subliminal imprint on the car buying public, who, despite VW's mediocre reliability ratings to this date, still harbour a favourable view of VW over their competition. Recent VW shambles over emissions gives one an insight into the company's questionable ethics!

      You really have no clue what you are talking about do you?I've driven BMW and Mercedes and compared to the Germans the Jag is better to drive by a considerable margin.Supercharger trumps Turbo any day of the week!Jag suspension feels like it was designed, not picked from a box of bits like the German cars.Germans make fab cars make no mistake, but for the driver and pure driver engagement the Jag wins hands down!

      Yes because they, (TATA), had the good sense to leave well alone in all matters except the investment capital.British Managed, British Designed, British Built, British Marketing for JLR. Also applause for the openness and fairness of the British business ethic which allows foreign ownership of British companies on a fair and level playing field. Something I believe is not the case the other way round! So don't get so self congratulatory for TATA ownership of LJR just yet, eh?

      Oh Dear colonial hatred from someone lauding an Oligark company in a country which cant collet taxes, has a crumbling infrastructure, where Rape is rife and only 20% of the population has access to a toilet. Yes India has come a long way since independence!
      At least in Britain we have our drains underground instead of rat and mosquito infested open sewers. Come back in a couple of centuries of Tiger economy and see what has changed, I'll make an educated guess, bugger all!

    • @RaghunandanReddyC
      @RaghunandanReddyC 8 років тому

      +Henry Siegertsz oh racist, per capita rapes in UK is much much higher than India you can check the facts and everything you said is just outright hate for India, and every statistic you have posted is wrong yes there is poverty in India, that figure is most exaggerated one. Britain is the most declining economy in europe, it's population is so insecure that they have opted to leave European union just to keep other Europeans to immigrate to uk and your queen wears a diamond stolen from India you should feel ashamed to enjoy stolen wealth. today you have proven that you have very narrow understanding of things. do check facts before arguing with people. you can't call one poor after robbing them.

    • @henrysiegertsz8204
      @henrysiegertsz8204 8 років тому

      I'm of Subcontinent descent you ignorant moron.
      I'm no racist either. I work in Qatar with many Indians, Sri Lankans and Philippinos. What strikes me is your own countrymen confirm clearly and undenied statistics about the state of India. As for your comment on Rape you are wrong and shooting from the hip.
      Just because a pig owns a pearl doesn't mean he can make one!
      It is interesting the first response from your insecurity and inferiority complex is to cry Racist! India has little to recommend it but it's women, who show more dignity in the depths of indignity, poverty and oppression. Honour Killings and Acid attacks for spurning suitors, being forced to marry their rapist, disgusting. Corruption is endemic, theft from visitors in leading chain hotels, I could go on. India needs to look at it self before announcing how great it is, because by any means or measure, it certainly is not!
