Coffee Infused PRALINE Cake

  • How to make the best Coffee Praline Cake.
    Here's what you'll need:
    Walnut Praline:
    1/2 cup sugar (100g)
    1 cup roasted walnut (125g) a pinch of salt
    Coffe Infused Cake:
    6 egg yolks
    1/4 cup oil (60ml)
    1/4 cup sugar (50g)
    1/4 cup milk (60ml)
    1/2 tsp salt (3g)
    1 tbsp instant coffee powder (10g)
    1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
    1 tbsp hot water (15ml)
    1 and 1/4 cup cake flour (125g) or all purpose flour
    1/2 tsp baking powder (3g)
    6 eggwhites
    1/2 cup sugar (100g)
    Coffee Buttercream:
    1 and 1/2 cup unsalted butter (330g) softened
    1 cup cold sweetened condensed milk (300g)
    1 tbsp instant coffee powder (10g)
    1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
    1 tbsp hot water (15ml)

    Coffee you said? Count me in. Can just imagine the different texture and taste in that cake- soft chiffon and then somewhat crunchy, sweet and yet salty praline on the outside. Oh man! A slice of heaven. Tfs, Weng❣️

    Just made it and its really good. so soft and the icing is good. I just adjusted the condensed milk to 3/4 cup.

      @@SavorEasy I will say, it wasn't as strong of a coffee flavor as I expected. And the frosting was very wet, I had to add powdered sugar to dry & thicken it up. But it was good otherwise

    Just out of curiosity, why shouldn't we grease the pans?

      Since the method of baking this cake is very similiar to that of chiffon cake, you don't grease the sides so the batter is able to "cling" onto the walls as it bakes. Also, to ensure that it doesnt fall out when you cool it upside down. Cooling it upside down after baking ensures that the chiffon fluffiness retains its shape and doesn't collapse.
