How to describe Jinjer?
Ukranian groove djent with a ridiculously talented female vocalist.
Proggy Groove Metal also works. They have such a unique sound it's kinda hard to place them in anything.
They describe themselves as being a fuzion of: "Playing style incorporates elements of death metal, progressive rock and nu metal"
Like somebody said on one of those reaction videos, they are a genre of their own....I gave up on trying to categorize them a long time ago...It's useless... Some say metal, some say prog, whatever.....Just enjoy the music and embrace them, like I did..when never in my wildest dreams I ever thought I someday would end up fascinated with anything that included a growling voice... I am now...

at first, i thought the dude dancing with the briefcase was kinda silly.
Several watches later, i think its easily the best part. I always love when bands make a music video thats more than just a video of them playing the song in a random ass setting, something with a little bit of story and insight towards the meaning of the song.
Its done amazingly well here, because the violence and aggression in the dance the guy does with the briefcase clearly symbolizes a struggle for power. He finds the briefcase (a symbol of ascending in wealth and success) and it immediately sucks him in. The business clothed version of him tries furiously to get rid of it.. as if its influence is corrupting and torturous. The 'middle class' version of him is almost overwhelmed by the amount of power it contains, wanting more but also displaying a sense of not being fully in control, like the quest for power has a mind of its own.
Given that the songs message is pretty clear without diving too far into the lyrics, i think this just adds to the overall message and really completes the song. Metal is a defiant art form all on its own, and this is a shining example of the talent within the genre on so many levels.
Stellar work from a badass band.
You should see Metallica's recent work. The videos for Spit Out The Bone, All Nightmare Long, Here Comes Revenge, ManUNkind, and Murder One are all absolutely amazing.
I want to add something to the symbolism. When he's eventually sniped from the top, by someone even higher than him, he just dances with the blood and pays no mind.

Its mindblowing to even the vocal coaches who do reactions. The low growl, the soft to solid melodic purity and powerful rasp seems nearly impossible, and seemed so until she came along lol! She can growl and make it took like there is no effort at all! The band is amazing too! Love the sound, the style and qualify of performance.
I dont know which way it went, but can you imagine the jaws dropping at the audition when she pulls off smooth melody, hard rasp and then flat out controlled and articulated growl? Hahaha! Would loved to have been there for that!

You said it. Lots of remarks all thru Jinjer's UA-cams agreeing that once you swallow one of their songs, yer hooked and can't stop. The good news for us Jinjer junkies is they don't have a bad song!! I've never encountered a band that writes so many songs that offer so much joy. Most really good bands have some consistently good music, but Jinjer hits on all cylinders, ALL the damn time!

There's a weird thing that happens when I listen to this band. You know when your eyebrows go up because you're surprised, and then something else happens and it surprises you even more, but your eyebrows can only go up so high so you don't really have the headroom to escalate your reaction further. It's like that but with how much I enjoy this band. Every killer new song that comes out I don't even have the extra capacity to like it more, it's almost just become a "well yeah, that's Jinjer and everything they do is great" type of reaction. Not really. Much of it sounds the same. If you tutn on all house hold appliances and beat on a door, you got a band these days.
It's great for rock music in general. Last year was also good imo. Metal goes strong with Jinjer, Lacuna Coil, As i lay dying, Propagandhi, etc... I also want to call out Sick of it All last year, who blew me away.

I found Jinger a few months ago. I 'stole my first heavy metal tape of my brother when i was 8 lol. I am 56 now and listened to most styles of metal and love then.
Jinjer is in a class of their own. Tatiana's voice is something to behold. He skill at switching voice is phenomenal. This band reminds me of Evanescence only there is Amy Lee and Ben Moody singing. Tatiana can do both in an instance. I LOVE this band!

I feel like I understand this song after listening to it for so long.
The guy in the video is the one who's "on the top", who seems really happy being number one and dancing with his limitless amounts of money. The sniper shoots him, and he keeps dancing. Then the sniper shoots his money, and he crumbles.
This is a song/video about how rich people act/treat others and the consequences, as well as showing that the only way to hurt them is through the thing they value most: money. They used to tell me women didn't like metal. Here we are in 2019 and we have all this women playing and singing metal. Metal is not dead or dying. We just have to pay a little more attention to newer bands like this. Check also Grimaze.

I've been a metal head since middle school. I'm now 23 years old. And never have I heard anything like Jinjer. Started listening to them a couple months ago and oh my they are amazing. Tatiana's vocals are to die for along with Eugene in that sick bass and Vlad on drums. Everyone in this band is a world class musician and I'm seriously idolizing them. They're coming to a venue near me in a couple weeks and I definitely have intentions of going to see them perform!

Best metal band of the year? They are bigger than that. She is so amazing. Saw them lastnight and never has a lead singer been so true to the studio sound. Shes the real deal great energy amazing voice captivating outlandish talent. Only regret is they didnt play all the sets. Opening bands didnt have a chance lastnight lol. Amazing show in iowa city. Cant wait to do that again and again. These guys should be bigger than they are. Can not believe some people listen to rap or pop over this!

They're one of the best metal bands on the scene right now. They're not the #1 overall but they're one of Napalms biggest bands next to Alestorm.
