    • @Akherousia502

With all due respect, that's because she's one of the most efficient metal vocalists to hit the scene recently. Her technique is absolutely incredible and I'm not saying that out of blind worship. I mean her growls are seriously top-notch and backed by damn near flawless technique. I think a lot of people are also impressed because it's a woman doing this, as they often are, but frankly even that's surprisingly valid because we've had vocalists like Angela Gossow and Alissa White-Gluz teach us that 'women can growl, too!' but it took Tatiana to show us that they can do it extremely well.
She just blows so many vocalists out of the water with her professionalism and understanding of the craft.
But, you're absolutely right, the instrumentation is a big part of what makes Jinjer so special. It's intricate but groovy at the same time, and they're clearly very comfortable experimenting with jazzier clean styles, too. It's a painfully underrated band, and that's saying a lot considering they've actually been getting a lot of attention over the years.

What is it about this band that makes me almost cry? Seriously. I've been binging on Jinjer videos for about a week know, and the emotional reaction is almost visceral. I'm a 44yo man who has loved progressive metal for decades, but I've NEVER NEVER NEVER heard anything like what Tatiana brings. She's stunningly beautiful, but her voice is angel and demon in one. I've never been a huge fan of the fry scream vocals, but something about the way she weaves in between fry/clean/distortions makes me feel something in my soul I can't quite explain.

I think it springs from a profound connection to the experience the song has to offer. Whether it connects to some silly, whimsical thought you've had in the past, or a deeply saddening experience like the death of a loved one, the connection is really where the emotion wells from. The univese is a vast and terrifying place that we literally cannot possibly comprehend, but some other person out there who's just as lost and confused as ourselves has produced art that you TRULY connect with. What're the odds, eh? @@supersierra70

"Don't discontinue this expedition when stuck upon the event horizon of my eyes" and "Come and join me in my rotation" are such underrated, soulful lyrics about what it's like to let another person into your heart. The brutality of the growling offset by the later gentle instrumentals and vocals...it's really something special and beautiful.

You are overcomplicating it. It's 6/8 7/8 6/8. Basically 6/8 with two 16th notes tacked onto the second bar for the effect. The beat doesn't spill over into the second or third bar; it 'resets' at the start of every bar. You can hear the cymbal lead (which plays half time) cutting 1/8th short at the end of the second bar, 4th hit.

I remember raving about how much I enjoyed Jinjer back in 2016. My sister was like, “whatever” then years later becomes this big fan, sends me “Pisces”. It’s like I never said anything nor had to speak. It just goes to show that even people who don’t care for their music actually sometimes also eventually become fans. It’s like music of all genres is getting heavier and heavier music is getting more interesting. Music used to be a form of communication for sea navigation - as were the stars. I came of age in the early 1980's with bands like Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest, They were the cutting edge of metal, and still are! Yeah And I grew into metalica, as well as slayer, pantera, mega death, armored saint and many others! About mid way through that decade I started playing guitar, quickly learning just how hard that music was to play, I worked like a dog to be able to play that stuff! If you don't play, you can't understand. JINJER is all around freaking incredible!!!!! The band can blow the doors off most every metal band to walk the planet with their skills! And well, they got a little lady that not only can she sing like a bird, but can scream like a banshi! I played this style of music back in my day, it's really fucking hard to scream like that and then come back and sing clean, bright and loud vocals! She does it like drinking a glass of water! It's fluid! I welcome the challenge of anybody to bring another that can do the same! I love what she does!

Music is experience. We evolve so do our tastes. When you have the benefit of different musical generations, you find and/or define yourself. Music makes every fiber of our being vibrate, it's just a question of finding the right vibration.

Mastodon, Opeth, Soen, Long Distance Calling, Gojira, Tesseract, Deftones, loathe, code orange and Tool, Jinjer is like all of them combined to make a sweet concoction of unique madness. I love it.

un fucking believable how talented this woman is!!! to have such poise and grace of movement and two diametrically opposed vocal styles and the ability to control it all, while being a smoker and a drinker is absolutely phenomenal, Tati has left nothing to be imagined or unexplored in dress, physical appearance or vocal ability, everything she does is perfectly thought out and executed!! we are witnessing the modern day equivalent of Michelangelo, or Poe or shakespeare!! she is living art in motion and sound!! I am absolutely floored and left aghast everytime I see her sing!!!......Bravo Tati!! and Eugene and the rest of the band you have made art that will never fade!! LONG LIVE JINJER!!

To do it in a language that's not my native tongue...just incredible.

Extremely underrated band and i don't know why. Musicianship is incredible, all phenomenal players.
Not to single out Tatiana, but the seemless transition from singing to growling is amazing. She makes it seem so effortless.
Can't wait to see where this band goes in the future.

Absolutely mindblowing. It's been a long time since a metal band of this caliber has graced the airwaves with such amazing talent and creativity. These guys give a whole new meaning to the word "Artists". Tatiana is like the incarnation of a dark cosmic, mythical goddess, summoned from an alternative universe to beat you over the head with her power then seduce you with her beauty. Absolutely amazing! This band deserves nothing but success. My only regret is that I just learned about them this year.
Oh well, better late to the party then never! 🤘

literally this band is perfect it's offensive how underrated they are (in popularity, I mean. folks that listen just *get it*. MORE LISTENERS. It broke my heart to hear how the shutdowns affected them and other "smaller" (ugh) bands like them. Please support them if you're able! It's tough times for everything and we need to protect what matters, including music!
