Here in the UK can pick up clippers from any corner shop for around £1 ish. Got to say clippers are my go to. The cool thing is that if you are putting together a small firelightering kit or survival kit you can take the sparker out of a clipper, add a few extra flints in there and you are sorted for thousands of sparks that won't let you down. Really lightweight and compact. Plus the number of different art styles make them very collectable.
Clipper lighters are common here in the UK bic lighters not so common. A tip, carry a pack of flints with you incase the flint runs out. That's the beauty of Clippers ...flints are replaceable and the lighters are refillable.
Had one of my Clippers since the mid 90s. If you have 2/3 in your gear/on your person the parts are interchangeable so the odds of you not being able to get one of them working are fairly slim with regular maintenance.
I stumbled upon Clippers on Amazon a few years ago and haven't looked back. I was just looking on Amazon to see about new flints because 3 or 4 lighters flints blew out of the lighter and I'm on the last one. I do wish there was a way to tell the fuel levels though.
bics were better in the day, a great lighter. The clippers are more comfortable and seem easier to light. now that i know they are refillable, i wont be wasting money on bic.
Clipper lighters come filled with isobutane. The work at colder temperatures then standard butane. I found clipper on Amazon about 6 years ago and have used them ever since.
got to official clipper website there you can buy many accessories for it and differetn designs, colours design themes or you can make your own design it is a really nice lighter
gregorystand I had the opposite issue. Refilled a clipper with mag torch butane and the flame got smaller. Refilled it again with ronson and the flame is nearly identical to a stock clipper. Tiny bit smaller but unless you have it lit side by side with a fresh clipper, you’d never tell. Butane makes a difference
bics arent half bad either. they are the longest lasting normal sized disposable lighters, work perfectly to the last drop of gas, and even then there is a bigger flint left than the normal refils. my favorite, by far, is the imco triplex, though. such an incredible piece of engineering!
It's all I use since I discovered the clipper. The only trouble is when friends ask about my clipper,I usually end up giving them one so I keep ordering them on the internet.
2:39 It's called a flint barrel, i hope you don't replace the whole barrel. You can modify a BIC and make it refillable. ua-cam.com/video/ShvqtG1Vo50/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/vlQg-XOPx0s/v-deo.html
Lmao in Germany you don't see both of them it's very rare I saw only one clipper and one Bic in my Life everybody has a cheap pizo lighter fun fact bics are expensive here I also had one it was good but monday I have a clipper it was cheaper than a Bic lol

Clipper XS is the superior hiking lighter and buy a clear clipper and you can see fluid
I love clipper but it got empty so fast because of the big flame, its ok when you buy it but when you refill it I found the flame to be too big

Personally prefer Raw clippers
