Short and sweet and to the point. No BS just ordered my valve an hour ago. gonna follow your tutorial and have a bic for life. You sound kinda down in the video. Maybe you were just tired. Either way you are a moneysaver with this trick.
What size of drill bit is it? And can't you just keep drilling a little further in to break the divider? Oh and they're sold out everywhere I looked did you find a different website to get them?

What size drill bit did you use? I have a lighter that i want to do this with, I've had the lighter since 2007 so it's pretty special to me, This video is great!
You can get it from a $10 benzomatic torch solder iron from hardware store. It’s okay in a regular bic but I tried an ez reach bic and I couldn’t screw it on good enough and it leaks out the valve itself. I have better luck with the B type valve like on clippers. They don’t leak as much.
I did a really good job at failing this. Used a thumbtack to push out the ball bearing. Pushed so hard the flat part of the bottom of the thumbtack broke off and just left the shaft of it in. Since i couldn't pull it out like that since it broke, I tried taking it out with pliers. The metal stayed in but the plastic part sheared off the thumbtack, now I have an empty lighter with a small metal pin in the bottom of it. 😂
😅 what I suggest. Is to just push the metal piece down into the lighter. Ur going to have to drill anyways, so it should come out no problem 😊 😎 we all got to fail to succeed 👊🏽😎
@@mr.mendoza805 I can see the site, but I don't know the valve sizes. Do you happen to know them or have an exact link available? Thanks for the video, much appreciated
Thise valves are like gold, at the madbull site they sell them 3 for $10 but the site glitches. Only other option is from Hong Kong for 3 for $30. Anyone know where to get some quality valves at a reasonabke price?
It is easy to get the flint out of a bic, but it might be hard to out it back.. There is damn near a half inch of flint in a bic anyway so you could probably get 10 refills out or the original flint.
I did get many refillable lighters, but they all suck the go out fast. The little valves suck and leak, same thing with the ignition coils versus the valves for the Bic lighters are bigger and the flint is easy to get and replace. in my opinion.
I didn’t know gas stations sold Bics for a few cents of profit. I’m not driving 10 miles round trip to Walmart to buy an entire pack to get them for $1. Otherwise no one sells bics for $1. A crack lighter yes. Bics are $2 to $2.50. I don’t use cheap lighters anymore. I use MK grip pro 2.0 lighters. They are permanent and are way better than bic or clipper. Soft solid build quality, adjustable, clipper wheel, solid metal with design around flame. Refillable. Everything both lack. Never need another lighter again. I wish they sold them more places. On eBay.
That's a good question what I do is I buy new flint for a few bucks or I just get any old lighter and get the flint out usually the butane runs out faster than the flint dose
Clippers can last forever with maintenance. But I hate the flame size. Whenever I put a valve on a bic the flame sucks after the pressure changes. And must be warmed up.
Yeah the clippers do last but I don't like them because every time you have to change the Flint those little plastic screws are so hard to put in they strip real easy and the way that I did it with my valve there's no loss of pressure and it works fine no warming up no nothing I had mine 4 over 8 to 10 years with no problems 😎
I'm sure I can make one for you. The valve alone running about 25 bucks 😳 now but worth every penny in my opinion. I'm going on 11 years with my lighter 😎
Hey Richboy then why even watch ? Its more about not wasting/throwing away hundreds of lighters or letting BIC keep making money on us. Why buy something to just throw away ? Disposable just like life i guess eh
@@mr.mendoza805 I would rather have a bernzomatic then a Bic. What I am asking though is if I was to take apart one of my many different refillable lighters that I have would most valves work for Bic modification? Because most of the valves I have on other lighters are much smaller.
Yeah I tried that but had no luck with it the only one that' works good with no leaks it's this valve because it Has the screw part to the top so I grabs good to the plastic and it will keep the seal locked no leaks 👍
