  • My results of burning a waste engine oil and gasoline mix in my Chinese diesel heater and the problems that came from doing that.
You can see part one here, Its been unlisted as what I tested doesn't work long term and i don't want to mislead anyone. • Using a Chinese Diesel...

I was going to make a follow up video testing a mix of waste peanut oil and kerosene but the results were basically the same as burning waste engine oil, It burned around a tank of oil before clogging up again, so I decided it's not worth making another video just for that. I'm done messing with this heater and my conclusion of these experiments is just burn diesel or kerosene waste oil just isn't worth the hassle.

      Were you filtering the oil

You need to do a few things to get a cleaner burning setup.
    1. Use a diesel to oil mix of 30/70 to 50/50; stick with whatever ratio you choose. Make sure your oil is ran across a magnet and is filtered down to 2 micron.
    2. Have a reserve tank with just kerosene or diesel and a 3 way valve that can switch over tanks.
    3. Tune the heater to the new fuel type. This guy does an alright job of explaining the concept. ua-cam.com/video/SmCYQu53umk/v-deo.html
    4. 30mins to an hour before you shutdown switch the tank to clean diesel or kerosene. This helps with deposits and buildup.

I agree 110%, yes these heaters won’t burn waste oil for very long. Suggest you buy a new burner. It is impossible to clean out the inside wire mesh at bottom of burn chamber even if you cut it open.
If you wish to burn waste oil, just burn it in a wood burning stove. That works fine.

There's simply too much stuff in waste oil that won't burn. I don't see mixes as fixing that.

Did you adjust your airflow / fuel rate?
I imagine you'd have to reduce the fuel rate and increase the air-rate significantly to run successfully on WMO?

Preheat the oil like bunker oil burners do.

Have you changed the air fuel ratio? Different fuels need different ratios. If the ratio isn't correct, then it can't get to its highest temperature, which will burn many more deposits.
It looks like your controller is one of the ones that can get into the hidden menu in order to change it.
I believe I know which video you saw with the two young men in the UK who have been burning pretty much any oil that they can get their hands on from the scrapyard for years. If you listen closely They mention that they were getting into that menu and changing things.
Those small bottles of kerosene are very expensive. If you can find a gas station that carries it, then you will probably find it's about half the price per gallon. Here in the Southeast, it's a little less than $7 a gallon. It seems as though that's what They use as home heating oil in the UK, But in the US home heating oil Is virtually red dyed diesel number 1 Which is somewhat thinner than Regular diesel (number 2).
If you want to use pure kerosene in these heaters, you may need to add a lubricant to the fuel in order to not wear out the pump. Some people have suggested two stroke oil, which I think would be an excellent lubricant for this purpose.

Why do people keep trying to do this, its a known fact these heaters will not work on anything other than diesel or kerosene
