I have found that once you get the forks on the front of the skid on that cross shaft, a ratchet strap works well through those loops on the skid to the running boards works really well to hold it in there. Especially when doing it by yourself.
Hey Tanner, Got some info for you for the two belt pulleys. Thread the first nut onto the driveshaft; then using the nut tool, tighten the nut to 100 ft-lb (135 N-m). Thread the second nut onto the driveshaft and tighten against the first nut to 100 ft-lb (135 N-m). Secure the upper drive pulley using the existing pul- ley washer and a new cap screw. Tighten to 25 ft-lb (34 N-m). Great video Buddy !!
I do track swaps same way u do. Iv tried both been doing this kinda stuff since the 90’s. My father taught me the side method i like lifting the back like u do. But instead of ratchet strap i just loosing the torsion springs make life easier.
Thanks for the great video. I've been waiting to see how you installed it. On mine I had them install the Ice Arrowhead before delivery. Bought the sled from the same place as you. Great dealer and support Croo there. I'm with you on studs. The folks I ride with think I'm crazy for not having them. They always ask -" why don't you run real studs? My answer- Because I don't like walking!! Question - Why do you have to take the pipe out? Muffler I could see but pipe? Question - is there a directional arrow on the track? In regards of changing a track at the race track they just lay the sled on its left side. Seen them do it many times. Saves a lot of wrestling with it on the ground and your arms will thank you later. Because its new use a moving blanket under the left side spindle and I have a handelbar stand that holds it stationary. The rest is with moving blankets and strategic placement of same. Its tricky though as you have to have the left side suspension bolts out and the wheels loosened etc etc. Its a delicate ballet for sure. Instead of those plastic electrical tape holders for holding your screws get your self some of those magnetic parts holders. I've got many different sizes . Harbor freight has them cheap. They come in handy and even if kicked or dropped you wont have your parts all over the floor. That's a great shop and will add to your Bling. In regards of the grips the air method is good. Just add a little WD-40 on the bar before install. Surprisingly they will go on easier but lock solid when in place. On some we sprayed hair spray on the bar. You have to get it right away while its wet though. No more Hulk Hogan twisting. I've been doing the spray foam in bars for years. Works well and they stay much warmer. I use the lightweight stuff so it doesn't expand so much. I'm not sure why but my warmers are almost too hot on max. I rode mine in their yard at the dealer so its got a whopping 1 mile on the ODO. Hope this helps. Teamgreen
Interesting... i currently run the 1.35 cobra on my 900 na. Tried a 1.5 storm but it sucked to much power from the na 4 stroke. I wonder if this is my ticket...
I also hate normal studs. Never even had a sled with studs. My new sled has the little holes in the track to put them little studs in was thinking of doing them i have 146inch track. I live in Pennsylvania

I also got the same headlamps. Just love them. Great video. Used to be a big Cat guys years ago. Hope they are still going to be around.
Thanks for all of the "preseason" content!

I agree. I had the 1.6 ice cobra and always felt the lug rolled and the little stud never gripped. Ice cobra track lugs are too soft for Vt trails.
Lower nut torque for the 2 track driver nuts is 100 ftbs
What does the angled do than original lugs

@@MunsonMotorsports interested to see how much difference it makes. Thinking about doing the same to my assault next time I pull the track out
