Scotty comes out swinging at upstart AoS players who are trying to take 40k down. But is it really as simple as one game being "better" than the other? Or are the AoS players just blinded by novelty?
Come listen as I break down some basic pro's and con's of each system to help you make the decision for yourself what game might be best for you!

I was drawn to the skaven as my first fantasy army back in 2010. I did start 40K before fantasy with my guard army. But there was one sentence in the skaven 8th edition codex that read, “the skaven are a dark parody of mankind, we took everything bad about the human race and made a faction”. But the weird thing is I always prefer a sci fi setting especially space, but I love the skaven so dam much. I used to chuckle to myself when my cannons would missfire and shoot my own units. I once played a game where I had first turn and killed 750 points of my own models before my opponent even rolled a dice. I just couldn’t really get back into aos when it came out. I’ve played a couple games of 40K 10th and as simple as the rules are with every data sheet having it’s own special rules it gets very overwhelming and I forget over half of my data sheets special rules. So I’m kinda at the do I finally give aos a try and dust off the rats or try to remember these special rules more

"Is AoS the game we wish 40K was"?
    Gimme a break:
    - Ugly factions model wise stripped off any kind of charm for IP reasons.
    - The dreaded double turn.
    - Atrocious lore.
    - Models fielded in regimental numbers yet you have to move them individually?!
    - Shooting into close combat?!
    - Dumbed down morale rules.
I bet there would be more issues, if I would delve more into it but why sully myself doing so. Don´t touch the game with a ten-yard pole.

      You should try it!
Many of the factions models do have charm, and now have lore. It’s taken time to get there, but it’s there!
The double turn isn’t as bad as you think. There is no toll as exciting as initiative. It’s the single most important roll on 40K - but in aos we make that 5 times. The whole system is actually balanced around it. Even as Scotty mentions in this video, with how from a system perspective, it actually works.
It wouldn’t work for 40K, obviously. But it somehow does for sigmar.
Why shouldn’t someone be able to shoot into combat? Armies in 40K have been able to do it. It’s possible in infinity! different system, different rules.
The moral actually is quite well done too. It’s more impactful than battle shock in 40K, but it also has more flesh to it than just the core rules suggests.
Give the game a try before you knock !

@@chargingfromdeepstrike_studios Nope. Tried the game once it was released with my WHFB collection. What a shame that they desperately tried to humiliate veteran WHFB players with silly faction rules. Gee-Dubbs can f*** themselves in that regard. I won´t be coming back for Old World. Hobgoblin and 9th Age look so much better.

I was a naysayer too. It’s actually pretty good.
