    Ahahaha oh gosh I can't stop laughing at the wine situation😂 Chloe, you even filmed yourself reminding you not to throw your backpack down like that 😂 Other than that, it did look like quite a successful camp though. The sound of the birds, the sky at dawn, you drinking wine straight from the bottle😂 I admire you so much for doing another wildcamp alone despite your fear. That fear is holding me back big time because yes, I'm afraid of getting murdered outside too. Even when I'm walking alone in the woods in clear daylight hahaha and it's completely irrational yet so very present. You're not alone in that! Journaling in candlelight and the sound of rain, oh so comforting and peaceful. Sad you had to go work but I'm happy you didn't wait for ''free time'' to do what you love. Ohh and a beautiful beetle and you weren't afraid during the night, yay!! Amazing video Chloe, I feel like I'm with you every second and it's wonderful! Thank you for these moments of peace with you, I love them!

      I knoooww, it's terrible isn't it 😂 I knew myself well enough to try to stop it from happening... but failed regardless 😂 It is comforting to here I am not alone in those thoughts, even though I wish you did not have them too! It felt very empowering to face the fear head on, but I definitely wouldn't do any old camp alone... I shall have to build up to being more 'out in the open'. It was a very peaceful camp all in all, I think doing things like the journalling by candlelight really helped settle me in. I am glad I could take you along with me and share some of the peace these moments in nature bring, thank you Frederike! :)

      @@ChloeRoseHarrison Hey, thanks for replying, heavy rain here today, (Kent) so I've caught up on a few of your other vlogs. Ah midges, remember them well, also don't forget the ticks, especially in ferns and longer grass. Get yourself a pair of swimming shoes, I carry a pair always, crossing rivers or swimming, your feet are important, look after them...(Sorry, not nagging.) Scotland is too far away for me but I do get out in Mid Wales now, (+ Kent 'n Sussex) the peace of being alone, open sky, it renews the soul. Enjoy Scotland :)

      @@paultaylor5266 My family live in Sussex so I've heard all about the rains you've had - it sounds pretty intense! I actually own a pair of swimming shoes but had never connected the dots and thought to bring them out on a hike with me... lightbulb moment, thank you! I never see it as nagging, please do share tips and tricks anytime. The peace is possibly the main reason I go out alone, I really relate to that. Hi Chloe. You're far from alone in having 'the fear' as I call it before a camp or even a days hiking in the hills. I think 80% of it IS irrational but the other 20% is your educated & experienced mind reminding you that there are risks with outdoor activity ( or with just about anything, in truth). That's why it's an adventure & makes you feel alive & why we love it so much. So, what I'm trying to say is embrace the fear, it's perfectly natural. I'm assuming this was in Scotland or was it when you returned home for a break ? I love how honest your videos are & you leave in the odd imperfection like the battery running out. Always make me smile xxx

    • @ChloeRoseHarrison
      @ChloeRoseHarrison  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, this was in Scotland! Just a 10-minute walk from my home in fact, so very local. Thank you for those words... the reward and thrill of the adventure is definitely what helps me overcome the nerves and keeps me going back. Hopefully I can gradually cut down the fear to that healthy 20%. Albeit there is a tiny part of me that enjoys being scared, because it makes me feel even more accomplished in the morning! I always love it when the people I watch on YT are honest so it's something I strive for in my videos, very glad it made you smile :) Thank you Michael!

    Going forward as an idea I use a spread sheet for my gear , sounds completely over the top but we’ve all rushed out and forgotten something
    I have a wildcamping spreadsheet a hiking one and then the same for winter, it just makes it easy to go through the list when packing your gear

    Great video Chloe, new subscriber here, I honestly don't know why your subs aren't up in the 1000s you vids are very well put together and entertaining, in one of your shots, possibly putting the beetle on the log, there was a coral fungus, it's very edible and good but sadly its very very rare now due to its habitat being lost, so its best to leave them alone to grow and spread, so lucky you capturing it on film 👍👍

We have the very occasional jay, but I haven't seen one yet. I'm up in Inverness, and we only have very few magpies that brave it from the clement east coast of Findhorn and Nairn to the Highlands. Although, this summer I did spot magpies outside the village of Dunbeath. They must have flown across the Moray Firth. I'd be interested to see if they stay for the long haul.... It surprised me to see the jay! Especially since it was about 90% pine and not broadleaf woodland in the area too. I moved here from Sussex in August, so it's been really interesting for me to see a different make-up of birds. As you say, a lot fewer magpies (which are everywhere where I used to live).
