Beautiful woodland and autumn colours Carrie. You wild camp for exactly the same reason I do. It’s so beautiful and relaxing. And great when you find those areas that others tend not to go. Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿 🇬🇧

Coincidentally, the other day, a colleague asked why I go wild camping and spend an entire evening sat watching a fire or listening to an audiobook. I call it ‘guilt free relaxation.’ ie. Hi Carrie, great video. I haven't found a pillow that I like either, I also roll up my jacket and suits me fine. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the solitude.
@@UKCARRIEOUTDOORS A tip I forgot to mention is double pillow up, get a decent cousiony neck pillow, put the neck pillow on top or underneath your Eurohike flannel camping pillow for extra comfortability, the Eurohike flannel pillow is comfortable on its own but adding that neck pillow as well might be even more comfortable and the neck pillow can also support your neck even more and support your shoulder adding that cousin between your neck and shoulder so you're not causing shoulder cramp. I've tried so many pillows, the best I've used is the 7:99 decathlon quechua one, a comfy pillow makes such a big difference to a good sleep, no stiff neck in the morning either 😂
I'm 38 too, and just getting into wild camping properly now here in Northumberland/Newcastle. When you realise how short weekends are, you just want to spend them doing things like this, and not hungover. Loved the video and subbed!
Lovely video, thanks! It looks like a really beautiful spot! There really is something special about being alone (or just me and my dog) in nature at night. And I also love a stop at a bakery for a good coffee in the morning afterwards! Re pillows, I've found the Nemo Fillo Luxury Elite and the Trekology 2.0 are both pretty good. The latter is pretty cheap and has a strap for attaching it to your pad, which is useful. For winter, a pad with good R value, like the Nemo Tensor All Seasons (R5.5) and a good quilt (I like the Katabatic Sawatch) or sleeping bag (I use the Western Mountaineering Antelope when it's super cold). I like tarp and bivy camping when possible and have used the Borah Gear Cuben bivy in sub zero temps with a tarp, but when I'm expecting windy conditions I use either the Durston X-Mid 1 solid or the Hilleberg Niak. Keep the videos coming 🙂
Another beautiful piece of work Carrie, so insiring. I wondered if youd considered getting another dog ? I lost my German Shepherd a year ago & found it difficult at first to camp without him. Ive always used an air pillow due to a sport injury when i was 25 . My neck hurts if i cant keep my spine inline & an air pillow allows some adjustment in height by releasing air until im comfortable. Hope that helps. Massive hugs, Mick X

The colder it gets you need fatty food to keep warm in side. be Blessed.
Yes definitely, come winter and snow season definitely need to get those hearty meals in on camps 🙏🏼
Firstly you don't look like 38 more like 28 ..must be the fresh air and nature 😊 second you can never go wrong with spending time in nature love I'm 45 and I'm planning my next camping trip. Keep on exploring and enjoy! ❤
