    "I made this extremely safe and secure set up" - hahaha. Brilliant. I'm British. While we love our American cousins, we often say they don't get ironic or sarcastic humour. James' masterful use of deadpan is living proof this isn't a universal truth. Great stuff.

    It was great to get another glimpse of your high desert property, James! I think that place has tremendous potential. I hope you'll show us more of what you're doing there from time to time. That little crawler is certainly an asset on your new property!

      Hey my name is Sean I asked you a question. I don't know if I got a reply or not. Very good with the phone but I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I've seen some of your older videos that you turned a couple of them in the manual transmission. What's involved with mine because it's 2003. I know about the the crank sensor relocation. All that no problem is right now is clutch pedals. I'm pretty sure everything everything else I can get from a Wrangler to make it work in my grand Cherokee but the clutch pedals is my only issue they didn't make. Does he make a set for a WJ? I would like to do six-speed but if I speed would be fine

    • @jhoncho4x4
      @jhoncho4x4 3 місяці тому

      He used Cherokee and Dakota parts to piece that together. Cherokee already came with Chrysler V8 and manual pedals common in 2wd base model Cherokee's. The transmission is from a V6 Dakota. The Dakota V6 is same as V8 patterns with 2 cylinders cut off from center. That popular transmission will work in light vehicles and survive; NV3500 also used in half ton base model pickup trucks. @@seanhufford8330

    • @jhoncho4x4
      @jhoncho4x4 3 місяці тому

      Look for base model 2wd Cherokee's for a clutch pedal assembly. Anything above the base model will be automatic. Might do research and see if for example; Dakota pedals might be the the same assembly or aftermarket hydraulic clutch pedals; Summit Racing or street rod dealers. @@seanhufford8330

    The oil pressure switch to control both circuits, awesome !
    I thought resistor when you showed the light and nice work on the resistor in parallel.
    You remind me of my neighbor who was chief engineer for Signatrol. He just knew things. Bavk in the 70s, he would explain things with patience, to a kid, me.
    He told me he learned mechanical, automotive, with the help of parts from the Duesenbergs, in Indy ! Whether true or not, using records online, including census data, I tend to believe it.
    He didn't have your treasure piles though, lol.

    About 45 years ago I had an Oliver OC-4 Diesel dozer. I made the same track adjuster shims from hardened steel washers for the same reason as you did. You can free the adjuster nut but it takes an oxygen-propane or acetylene torch for enough heat. I found that even using wheel bearing grease on the threads did not prevent it from re-seizing.

    We had a 1938 Oliver oc3 prototype when I was a kid. Yours is a cleaner version. I'd say 95% the same. My brother sold it to the Anderson family in jaroso Colorado after my dad died. Seeing your Ollie brought back such fond memories. I noticed yours is way tipsy. Ours had a set of large steal weights under the seat. Our cleats were a half inch taller too for more grip. I'm sure yours are worn down. But anyway... love that you got a beautiful old tractor that you can use and have fun with. 😊

    You have made the crawler into a nice little machine. One trick I use to free up a large, frozen nut like the one on the track adjuster, is to use a cold chisel and pound on the flat of the nut as if you were going to cut it off, but in this case, the intention is to only free up the nut. It is not elegant, but it works, when nothing else will.
