Brother, you are SOoooo American! Yankie ingenuity has always been the motto of my family. This is the way things have been done by the common man forever. Thank you for teaching this generation of have-nots that, that doesn't matter. Just do it! ! ! !
I am absolutely laughing my rump off! This channel is the best! None of this scripted “can we fix it in time” crap. This is a true “one of us” channels. Can’t fix it, just ignore it! 😂 Love it!
As a 3d printer, the best way if your having your print not sticking is to use painter's tape and a glue stick. Problem solved. Hairspray "extreme hold" works really good to on a glass bed.
It does my heart good to see rather round about path to getting a project worked on you have to take. It makes me realize I'm not alone on the island of "Oh for the love of Saint Pete! I have 5 hours of work to get to work."
I worked in an rv factory for years, installing metal sides, roofs, doors, windows, and roof top air conditioners. Your work looks great, if your having fun....
Totally relatable, SSDD ( Same $#!+ Different day)! I had only one project to complete today... After unjamming the nail gun, the broken power switch on the air compressor, and figuring out where I put the nails . My estimated 2 hours project took all day, and I still have more yet to finish when I have time to get back to it! Brother... I feel your pain!
you are awsome dude. love the improv in all things. amazing. refreshing change from the normal youtube mechanic experience where everything is uptight. totally real. getting things done with what's at hand. thanks!
This guy is fantastic, such a fun video, cant stop being amused by his 'good enough' technique and his ability to fix anything, so far 🙂. Keep it up I'll make it through all your videos as I'm bingeing them. I need a happy fix. Thanks
Even with the no reverse issue, that man lift is worth gold! That roof structure is many times stronger than most new motorhomes (not based on a big dollar bus). I live in the south, we run our generator most of the time during the summer to power both roof A/Cs while traveling. Love the content!
Hey avid 3d printer here! for really good adhesion i woukd use glue stick on the bed surface before a print. also making sure that you have filament thats been kept in a dry environment is key! pla for example is hydroscopic as well as some others. for outdoor stuff like what youre doing in this video, petg and abs are awesome materials for outdoors. another thing that helps with prints is making sure the heat stays in the part and doesnt cool off to fast in some places. i noticed that you have these machines open. if you put something simple like a T-shirt over it, it will help keep that heat in and should give you really good success with Prints. hope this helps! I love this channel
You're doing a good job! I like the way you work thru a series of issues to get a task accomplished. You know, some people would see each issue as an excuse not to get the task done - any one thing would stop them.
What a excellent way to start you day ,Low Buck Garage ,a very talented gentleman subtle dry humor , his trouble shooting techniques seem strange at times however is is very clever ,see what I mean ,His humor is priceless ,Just pay attention ,He really knows his stuff
I just stood an extension ladder against the side of the RV. AC only weights 100#, so tied a rope to it and with the wife's help, slid it up the ladder. I don't have the technology you have.👍👍
Your tenacity is amazing. I find it very endearing. I'm not sure if you know this, but I am certain that's not a travel bus at all. It actually is truly a can of worms. But if you're having fun, then it's a a travel bus.
Been following this story after watching the one on the "old" bus. Great "shakedown" trip you did and certainly helped find/fix some faults. Should be a great tourer when it's finished.
I love that you have to everything first to use it. For me, its figure out where i left it. Also when you said "another one of my only concerns" i cracked up. Fun stuff.
You work and talk just like I work. Coming from a fellow DIY'er who has wired complete homes, built and refurbished everything; you do nice work and should be proud.
Painting the ceiling white really made the interior way nicer. Also the new air conditioner means more room on the inside since the old one took a lot of space.
Dear LBG 👍👌👏 I absolutely love this RV bus series. A lot of progress happened and you opened up some cans of worms (which is completely normal while doing a project like this). This bus seems to need a complete overhaul, especially the roof sides are rusted out/through (unfortunately inside and outside). I really hope that you will somehow find a way around a complete restoration because unfortunately the vehicle isn't worth that kind of huge effort. The new AC unit seems great. I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the next video part. 2) If I remember correctly, you didn't give/change back the green 4WD international pickup truck light hearted. The scrapyard owner Silas, "Adventures made from scratch", just showed a nearly rust free example that is for sale. Unfortunately including rats nests. 🙈 But despite a bit front damage, the truck seems fine. I don't know how far away his scrapyard is but maybe you are interested in having an International 4WD pickup truck again. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all of you.
I remodeled my brother's BSB motorhome / race truck and one of the cheapest and transformative jobs on it was to cover the celling with some grey carpet and inset lights which cuz now a days are LED don't need a massive air gap round them cuz of the heat. The Grey carpet which is just uses spray adhesive made the RV look modern, clean and tidy. I will totally recommend this to you to do especially as it seems you've got no insulation up in the celling. Keep those great videos coming there and you are great
I have a Tronxy X5SA-400 PRO... I would highly recommend it. It has a huge print area of 400x400x400 mm and works great. As far as the bed I too use blue painters tape which works amazingly well!
Great job with the installation and fabrication James! 😁👍 Glad to hear it works well and should keep the inside nice and cool. Take care, be safe and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
I enjoy all of ur videos and I am amazed with how fast u can get things done in a day keep up the good work and until next time hopefully see u soon again can't wait for another upload video it's been great watching all ur videos it took me 2 weeks just to catch up with ur current video's and I am happy to watch them
That the way things go have to fix one to something else. And always more work than you started being that old and glad you went with Henry roof coating 👍 great video.
TSP is the bomb for prepping before painting. Some people may want to use gloves. Excellent progression. When you said the parents went to "conventions" in it, I assumed you meant Dead concerts, where they sold merch.
Great job and impressed with all your "work arounds" to get things in place for use. Just an FYI ... "Buses" are built just like I build C-130J Super Herc (and similar Aircraft). Our rule/spec requires "Sealant between all faying surfaces". The purpose if firstly corrosion prevention but more importantly to prevent ingress of Water. True story of an Italian Aircraft manufacturer (that will remain nameless) that built a "Mini C-130" and like your Bus but differently from our Hercs (that get "Dimpled" AD solid rivets) ... decided upon "lap" construction and didn't listen to me on the always required "Sealant between faying surfaces". Initial Test Flights in rainy Milan ... Pilots would do their touchdown and inertia pushed all the Rain water to the forward Cockpit ... where it would then leak down onto the Pilots backs. They didn't like it and a very costly rework situation. This is to say that in the future, please shoot a bead of sealant into your repair areas before final riveting operations ... and yes, you'll know you have enough if there's "squeeze out" ... LOL.
I'm guessing Dad splurged on the AC unit,😉, I just can't see you buying something new like that, when you could've gotten a used one for less than a third of the price, 🙄, lol, are you going to do anything about the rust under the trim-pieces?, I'd hate too see a gem like that old bus get turned to scrap over something so easy too fix, awesome video, thanks for sharing.😁👍
Much more interesting than grabbing a ladder and calling a couple of buddies! I’m a new subscriber and already love your channel! Looking forward to seeing this bus back on the road.
Enjoying your build! I hate to say it but that AC wont be enough if it's much hotter. Rule of thumb is 2 AC's for a 34+ foot RV and that's when the rig is insulated some. If it's humid then it's really going to struggle. Most put the second AC in the bedroom area.
Great job. TSP, is what I used to use for cleaning engine blocks. It is a wicked cleaner. I know you're in the desert, but curved motorhome roofs are a lot less trouble to maintain than the flat roofs.
Your vintage bus is impressive .I just discovered mice and rats have re insulated my old airstream floor with shell beans and fiberglass poop .I found out you can cut the skin with a virbro saw.
Wondering if spray foam insulation would work in the empty spaces in your roof? Of course I would expect the before and after testing! Keep having fun.
Food for thought 🤔... Years ago I found that products that were canceled was because the ingredients that were inside were to dangerous for consumers... I learned to try and scorece industrial supplie houses to get some thing strong enough....for example you can go to box store and buy weed killer that doesn't work or you can go to Fead store that Farmers buy from and get what you need that works 😅for 🌞👍🙏💖
29:50 add a rgb led strip on the top of that edge around the ac unit. makes for nice ambient lighting. :) (yes i know this video is basically a year old.)
"I'm not having fun, which means I'm doing it wrong. So I have to do it a different way"
Damn, it really is that simple, huh?
"The only problem is, it doesn't work right now" 🤣😂 Sounds like me in my garage getting my second hand tools ready for fixing my house...
Brother, you are SOoooo American! Yankie ingenuity has always been the motto of my family. This is the way things have been done by the common man forever. Thank you for teaching this generation of have-nots that, that doesn't matter. Just do it! ! ! !
"I'm not having fun, which means I'm doing it wrong. So I have to do it a different way." Sage wisdom.

"So, I took some guesses" .... I'm still laughing.
I don't know this gentleman's name but I appreciate his frankness and down to earth approach.

A tip from Mustie1 is to warm the old tape up in a microwave first. Works as good as new.
Low-Buck videos always make me happy! I wish they were longer.
Me too. I love the content format. Different from the rest and enjoyable to watch.
Hope something is not wrong there have not seen a new vid for a while really like this channel.
April was crazy, but I'm getting back on track!
Yep. we're having fun, watching you repairing things so you can repair things!
Seem to be able to relate to that.
A real life Mad Scientist and a Master of Dry Humour. I love it! With all love and admiration from Nagaland, India

Thanks for another exciting and fun upload. Your genuine nature and approach is so under-rated. No bs, just honest work from a relatable fellow.
you are awsome dude. love the improv in all things. amazing. refreshing change from the normal youtube mechanic experience where everything is uptight. totally real. getting things done with what's at hand. thanks!

Very creative the way you assemble the air conditioner on top of the bus and power it. This is a great bus RV.
Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, thank you for the laughs.
Even with the no reverse issue, that man lift is worth gold! That roof structure is many times stronger than most new motorhomes (not based on a big dollar bus). I live in the south, we run our generator most of the time during the summer to power both roof A/Cs while traveling. Love the content!
Same here only we have 3 roof top AC units and a full size residential refrigerator.
As long as the can has a picture of an RV on it, it must be good. I needed a good laugh. Thanks for the video.

A/C is a must have .. I live in Oregon and we have 2 in our RV and use them a bunch .. can't imagine the heat there ! 👍👍
Very enjoyable upgrade. Nice to see every wire known to man was installed in your dash. ..Thanks for the Vid

An hour ago I didn't even know what a tow tug is, and now I think I need one. Great work overcoming all the challenges to get your A/C installed!
Your tenacity is amazing. I find it very endearing.

Very Ingenious on what you do Sir. And, I Love Your Dry Sense of Humor ALOT TOO‼It's look'n Good on this repair, I must say.
I love that you have to everything first to use it. For me, its figure out where i left it. Also when you said "another one of my only concerns" i cracked up. Fun stuff.
You really do make me laugh out loud 😂. Very interesting, you navigate so well through all your setbacks.
The thing I like the most, is that you walk us through the troubleshooting process. Priceless.
I gotta say this was the most njoyable videos I’ve watched in awhile!
This Man can take multiple vehicles in a yard and fix them,,Sometimes we're not in the mood,,but when you need to,,everything is taken care of,,,
That tow tug with Coleman axels is a serious machine.
Thanks for another great episode in the epic 1953 Kenworth bus refurbish.
Every time I watch your channel it changes my mood and attitude for the better. Bravo! Please keep up the awesome and inspiring work.
You work and talk just like I work. Coming from a fellow DIY'er who has wired complete homes, built and refurbished everything; you do nice work and should be proud.
I'm really loving these bus series.
Great work, as always! That professional sprayer made all the difference 😄
I am enjoying this bus project! Thank you sir!
Great job. I am glad you liked the turbo nozzle. Fantastic job on the install. Thanks for sharing your talents and adventures!!!
Love your videos and your bus ,keep up the good work 👍.
Always happy to see you upload a new video! Your way of working is very relatable, and also inspiring, as you truly just make do, with what you have!
Painting the ceiling white really made the interior way nicer. Also the new air conditioner means more room on the inside since the old one took a lot of space.
Always look forward to your fun escapades
Nothing like watching an artist at work!
Your dilemma at 9:02 sounds just like me and my many projects.👍🏻🍻🇺🇸
Just found your channel and am commenting on an older vid.
You’re like a care free Hank Hill.
Good stuff.

Really glad I came across your channel, I enjoy it very much. I wish you continued success!
So very enjoyable and entertaining. I love your fixes. I really enjoy making old stuff useable. Thanks
Loving this project. Also nice to see that I'm not the only one that has to fix 4 other things to get to the one big project.
This channel deserves just one word: genius !!
It is great seen a fellow New Mexican putting out such fun content.
It sure is a good thing that you know how to fix things. You have a lot of body work to do just to seal the roof. May the force be with you.
Great video! Try turning 5 gallon bucket 180 degrees when pouring, especially when it's nearly full.
Always enjoy your videos. They inspire me to have more fun on my projects and not to get too hung up on perfection

Excellent video Low Buck Garage :) also take lots work yes and interesting job did on Air Conditioning in bus camper too !
That the way things go have to fix one to something else. And always more work than you started being that old and glad you went with Henry roof coating 👍 great video.
I like your "moss scraper". Also good defense against nogoodniks
Low Buck Garage spending $0.50 of Kapton tape for the 3D print bed made me chuckle. That stuff is crazy expensive!
You've got all the gizmos.
TSP is the bomb for prepping before painting. Some people may want to use gloves.
Excellent progression.
When you said the parents went to "conventions" in it, I assumed you meant Dead concerts, where they sold merch.
I absolutely love this channel. ❤
Get a "soft start" for the AC unit. will cut your power to get AC going way down.
well done with the install by your self mate looks great cheers Quinny you diverse a Rum after that 🥃🥃
Great vid , like the donimo effect of getting one job done !! done it myself😂, thanks for sharing 👍

Perhaps use that sound deadener on the ceiling in bus? Might help insulate. Keep having fun bloke
Lots of cool work completed

That was fun. I would like to see it running on the inverter....powered by the engine driven Alternator...
I have to fix this to move that to lift this is the story of my life. I also employ the push and kick a block method of moving things around.
Your vintage bus is impressive .I just discovered mice and rats have re insulated my old airstream floor with shell beans and fiberglass poop .I found out you can cut the skin with a virbro saw.
I'm really enjoying this project
That ac instalation is so COOL ❄
I love this RV, great vid as always 👌
Wondering if spray foam insulation would work in the empty spaces in your roof?
Of course I would expect the before and after testing!
Keep having fun.
You can buy a soft start capacitor for the AC.
*- I hope you could get the lift parts ordered, James.*
Awesome videos! Love that camper!! Cheers from Canada!

Your comments are pure gold. "Luckily, I make stuff up as I go along." JAJAJAJJAJAJA
Well done.
Fora bus this size you probably need two AC units. Maybe a smaller one at the rear of the bus. - They really made nice looking vehicles back then 😊
Nice, thats a sweet old bus
29:50 add a rgb led strip on the top of that edge around the ac unit. makes for nice ambient lighting. :) (yes i know this video is basically a year old.)
Working with flats and curves when it comes to connecting them is a challenge
