I’ve learned that the reason for your clearance issue is due to the front leaf springs. On those old txt’s the springs become weak. All you have to do is install new ones. Learned the hard way
Do you have a video for how you converted forward/reverse shifter to electronic?
This is amazing but wouldn’t it be less expensive to buy a new one . I’m genuinely interested to know. I have an old 91 ezgo that I am considering sending t o an expert like you.
This is so damn cool! Now I have some confidence I can buy a cheap cart and mod it like this. Awesome, thanks for making this video!
That transformed into a beautiful machine, great job
Hey man…You did a fantastic job on this cart and your video was great! I’ve got a cart just like it and because of THIS VIDEO, I’m going to go ahead and follow your lead and rebuild mine as well. I sure would like a list of things from you if that’s possible.
Hi i like that what would the cost of this kind of upgrade
Great video, thanks for taking the time to document the build. How large of a tire do you think could have gone with the 3” spindles installed?
Outstanding build! But even better video! Thank you. Cant wait to watch more!!!!!
That’s carts amazing.. the only thing that would’ve took it one step up is a solar roof!! Never need to recharge… e we parking on my currently ❤❤. But yours is a beauty. Love the back seat / utility box… I want 😊
I don't see a link to the seats you used. I don't think the seat belt is standard on the EZGO, did the ones on yours come with the seat or with the body kit? Love the look, I have 5 older carts in our fleet and with the cost of new carts going up it looks like this would be a great option to revitalize these old ones.
could you make a price breakdown video?
19:05 Super interesting project. I totally want to do something like this for my hunting property. Cute kid btw
That’s awesome you have a hunting property. The possibilities are endless. And thank you!
Are those the original bars for your new canopy? And which canopy did you go with?
Lewis Jessica Robinson Anthony Wilson Charles
The seats are the MadJax Executive Seats - Tuxedo
Nice job, looks good. I know you didnt want to lift it, but come on, wouldnt have looked nearly as good! Glad to see the little one in there wrenching with you, love it!
Haha I have to agree, I do like the look of a slight lift. Also the extra ground clearance makes it easier to load into my truck. Haha yes she’s always finding something to wrench on
Jones Karen Rodriguez Jose Martinez Matthew
Can you tell us the cost of the base cart? Plus upgrades? I think about doing this but I dont want to put 9 grand in it and I can only get 8 grand in return. it would be enjoyable doing this for resale but i dont want to lose money.
Honestly if you’re looking to buy, fix and resale you’re probably better off finding a sub $800 cart that needs batteries and cleaning. It’s difficult selling these carts when you can buy new ones for $8k.
I stumbled upon your channel when I was putting a car repair kit together, but I really enjoyed this video. You did a great job not only on the cart, but the video also. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
The only issue is its not using lithium batteries.
Haha yes this cart now has a lithium pack.
My brother is giving me an old golf cart. I know nothing about them other than he said it will need new batteries. Can i send you a few pictures and see if you can offer any information to upgrade it a little?
That’s awesome and absolutely!
Where should i send the pictures?

@@projectkarr I sent you an email :) thanks again
Most likely I'm too late but the transom looked tight to the center pontoon....being a plastic do you need some sort of padding between the to to avoid friction cutting the pontoon? BTW nice project....also next time you glue your flooring try "flapping" the vinyl as is laying face to face creating a cushion of air allowing you to "push" the vinyl into place.... sounds crazy but it works... I've handled very large cuts doing this.
Nice presentation 👏
We paid $300. For our ezgo. Only have a $2000. budget . Good thing we have a welder 😅 .
I have a set of kicker cs465.25 that I plan to put in my 2000 dodge ram Laramie slt for door speakers and a set of cerwin vega hed 6 1/2 inch speakers for the rear doors.. and I might have a better idea for a amplifier that would have more low end bass but it doesn't have the control panel and that is the dual electronics xpr series amplifiers
Looks great…except the controls. Would’ve loved to see it more integrated and blend with the dash more.
You should've put a grand total on what you spent to upgrade the cart. Sticker shock!
It came out really nice. I wonder if those body kit fits in 1997 yamaha G16?
@Project Karr - Did you use 2014+ rocker panels with the Storm body kit? Only ones I've found on the internet for pre 2014 EZGOs are the diamondplate ones or direct replacements that have the chrome inlay piece like you originally had.
Hmm I’m honestly not sure, but I have the same rockers on my 1999 and 2018 carts. I believe they are the 2014+ gtw brand.
Sweet! Honestly with that powertrain you could have just washed it off a little and had a sic ride!
Hate you went to the spindle lift! Don’t care for how they ride at all, otherwise nice build.
Great looking cart. What was the total spend on the upgrades?
That’s awesome, I’m gonna do that to my 2010 48v ezgo
Rahul Light
How to make forklift motor have supper speed and torque
Yup! Totally gonna do this.
Didn't even look at the battery tray. Wtf
How fast does the controller make it go
So the lights are wired through the reducer?
What seat covers are those?
Beautiful great job!
Great job. Great video. Where are you located? Im from central cali. interested in building another cart?
Thanks a lot. I’m in the Visalia area. A friend of mine owns a business in Tulare (Battery Pro) where they build tons of carts and would probably be a better option since they know way more than me about all the different carts. And they can get a better price on parts.
Where do you get all your parts at?
Freaking awesome looking
How much was the kit
you are amazing!!!!👍
Total spend?
Did u use 1” front strut for the roof support? Says it’s for 2014 and up but I want to try to use it on a 2000 Ezgo txt… trying to confirm if it’s possible thanks
I used the 3/4” front roof support but you shouldn’t have an issue using the 1” support as long as you also change the windshield clamps to 1”
Thanks!
What was that Teflon coating you used? Can you add a link?
Are you referring to the ceramic coating I put on the wheels? If so, I used Carpro DLux. It’s a little pricy but makes cleaning wheels so easy and it lasts for years. Here’s a link:

More please
Nice job.
Good job
Love it
So it’s a 48V converted
Yes, was originally 36v, then converted to 48v. Now running 48v lithium
awesome
Awesome job!! what color is it?
Really, teal
promosm
Nice
Hey on you build you did 11 months ago what did you do with the old body parts?
I'm wondering if the bumper would fit my 2019 ezgo. My bumper is busted a bit.
I actually just picked up a 2018 txt to do another build on. I will check and see how the bumper looks on it
Which Navitas kit did you install?
@@chrisginoc the Navitas 600a 5kw system
@@projectkarr How high up in MPH can you get the golf cart with that kit? I’m debating if the 440a 4kw, 600a 4kw or 600a 5kw is the better option? I’m in Orange County and all my riding is flat, but I know I won’t be happy barely going 20-25mph spending all that money for the kit, but I’m not looking for 45+ mph since I have a wife and 2 boys riding with us.
@@chrisginoc I max out around 35mph on 48v. My new cart is running the same motor/controller but with 72v and it tops out around 47. Unfortunately I don’t know too much about the 400a 4kw system. One thing I highly recommend is the otf controller. It’s great for dialing everything down to cruise with the family
@@projectkarr What 72v battery did you go with?
@@chrisginoc I’m using 3 of the 72v falcon batteries from battery evo
👍
Maybe you should have just bought a new cart?
Buying a cart that is plated and does 35mph would have cost substantially more than I have into this one.
@@projectkarr how much did it cost?
Maybe if he bought a new one, we would not know how to DIY, and just pass monies away on labor, DIY
How hard was it to license? I’m in CA also and you don’t see many with plates.
How much money was this build?
Probably around 7-8k minimum not including the cart
Wow one of the best videos I have ever seen. I want to do that to mine.
@@robertdavis9020
More like $700
It didn’t cost more than $2,500 to build the whole thing.
$7k ? What made you say that number ?
@@Eye-it-azz body kit is $1,800, 6 eight volt batteries are going to be around $200 each so we’re already at 3k then the motor and controller swap is a few thousand, the rear seat kit is $500-700, think you can start to get the idea how quick it adds up, if you get dealer pricing then good on you but at retail it’s going to cost you
Can you provide a parts list ?
Where do I get the stuff for rebuild?
