- It's FINALLY DONE!
With this video, the InvestArm Plains Pistol build is finally complete. It took some time, but I’m happy with the result and had a great time doing it. After tightening a few screws and bolts, we head straight to the range to test out our newly completed muzzleloader.
Today we're officially starting our InvestArms Plains building series. This series will cover the construction of this muzzleloader kit, the tools needed, and several different processes of wood finishing and metal finishing.

In this video, we're unboxing the kit to get a detailed look at each of the parts before we move onto assembly. I talk about each of the Hawken parts, their purpose and place on the muzzleloader, some of my top tips for muzzleloader kit building, and my recommendations on what to research before starting.
If you have any questions about this kit or the techniques I'm using, leave them in the comments below. I will address as many comments as I can in videos associated with this series to give you as much detail as I can about the answer.
Muzzleloading, muzzleloader, muzzle loader, mountain man, longhunter, bushcraft, living history, longrifle, flintlock, blackpowder

You did a good job shaping the stock.
I enjoy the build videos, shooting, historical trekking, I like it all. The pistol looks very good!
Thanks so much!
I love the smell of Black Powder in the Morning! It smells like... VICTORY! (Even if it is on You Tube! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!) Well Done, Ethan!
Really came out nice. Looks like a fine shooter as well. I for one absolutely want to see some more kit builds.
I love my Kit Trapper .50 caliber Pistol I put together a few year back!!
Tons of fun!
Tell us more about the gatehouse(?) behind you, I'd love to see a tour!
You did a great job Ethan. I hand build my flintlocks and it is good to see your video. It gives other want to be building the chance to see how easy it can be. Your gun will weather and wear well. Soon it will look “vintage”. I have taken white tail and several hogs with my .54 caliber flintlock horse pistols I have made. At 45 yards are less, they work perfect.
Wow that’s awesome! 👏
@@ILoveMuzzleloading I am glad you put all the effort into your videos. I am a gunsmith and have taken pictures of my builds over the past 43 years, but never took the time to do what you do. Thank you sir.
She nice. Almost stealth but good color in the sun.
It took a while, but turned out beautifully. & nice shot for a muzzleloading pistol, & eyeballing dovetail sights.
Thanks for sticking around !
@@ILoveMuzzleloading Always Bud. You're one of maybe 6 or 7 channels I try not to miss.
Great job on the pistol looks good 👍👌🔥
Well done Ethan. Keep them coming
Thank you Barry
Excellent commitment and results. Not everyone will be able to duplicate your skills, but I believe many will be encouraged to give it a go, which is the purpose of this series. What a fun gun!! You have yourself an excellent little sash pistol!!
Thank you David! If I can do it, anyone can
Great series, and first shots..let's see more builds for sure.
Wish they made it in flintlock. Built 2 of those pistols in 54 cal.
More please (kit builds)
Awesome build! Keep them coming!
More to come!
Yes I love muzzleloaders and everything you have shared my friend
Definitely enjoyed the series 🔥
Glad you enjoyed!
Excellent,Ethan
Thank you!
Definitely enjoyed the build. Looking forward to seeing more.
Great first shot too.
Lot of fun watching you assemble and shoot the pistol!
Love it absolutely love nice job and works well
Thank you! Cheers!
cool..like it..
Ethan, I enjoyed watching your build of this muzzle-loading pistol. I hope you are able to build more, I would gladly watch them! Thanks for a Great Channel!
Thank you Donald! Working hard to keep them going
Ethan, great job keep up the good work. Now try a flint pistol.
Been eyeing a couple from the market. Which should I do?
I would match up one to your rifle . Same cal. and style (school). I have been in a few matches that require a rifle, pistol . But that has been a long time ago.. Good luck to you in endeavors
Really enjoy the kit building! Let’s keep it going.
Thanks! Will do! Have you tried any kits?
Alright… where’s the cool Fort you hang out in?
Next up... Nickel plated!
I do hope you continue the "Build" videos. I enjoy them quite a lot.
That's the plan! Got two more this year to do. What should I do after that?
@@ILoveMuzzleloading Maybe testing different brands of powder for the velocity differences between each one, along with how badly each fouls the barrel.
Hey Ethan what do you think about homemade black powder?
I had one of those. They are excellent pistols. Very accurate and powerful. A tad too heavy for my person likes tho.
Yes very heavy. Bullseye shooting with it is taxing. But, I need to lift more weights so it balances out 😂
Hello Ethan, Now that you have tried it, what was your opinion of the Dawn and water patch lube?
Nice job. Ethan. Have you run across DRAGON black powder from China? MY LGS has some on the shelf.
You gonna show any gel testing with your build kits?
Yep! Almost done with the first edit
I am just now finally getting a good appreciation of your ways. The barrel has rust scale but I meant to do that. Reminds me of a kid getting laughed at for making a blunder and telling all, I meant to do that. LOL. Glad you got it done and hell yes the projects are great. Keep doing them but do them properly. If you have to get someone to help you then do it because many that watch this put their faith in your abilities and will mimic what you do on here.
bLuNdErBuS if you haven't. I would! Blunderbus! Insanity
You are Seth Rogan if he never smoked weed. That’s not an insult lol.
