Totally cool. Oddly enough, this is exactly where I am in my playing right now. Once you start to dig this particular set of bittersweet and noir tonalities, that's what you want to hear for a while.
Thanks for this, Tony. Any exposition of a Wayne Shorter tune is gonna be a trip. I really enjoyed your improv @ 9:30. I liked the impromptu development of motifs and . . . the sweet scent of Mr. Evans on the last ii- V. Dug it
Great video, thank you. Any chance you’d consider doing a companion video exploring the voicings Herbie uses throughout? The closed shapes are great for handling the melody. Wondering about the open voicings he plays.
Hey Tony. I am interested in having jazz lessons but haven’t really found a teacher near me that interests me. I don’t live in Atlanta, but I want to know whether you would give online lessons? Thank you!
UA-cam has really become the new Jazz-Corner where good musicians like you can explain everything in detail. It really works.

Gr8! thank you ! But... don't forget to talk about the improvisation of Ron Carter and Tony Williams, they make the greatness of the repetitions !

Great choice. Always loved this one. Thanx.
Wayne Shorter wrote it. But it was on the Miles Dais record,d and there was a lot of improvisation even around the melody.
By the way I am a guitar player, but loved your analysis.
This is great !
Fantastic perfomance ! I laugh and learn a lot Great thanks
Estudando todas as tuas informações estou amando!!!!
