It's been a while since I've heard this song. All my albums are in storage.... I'd be playing the album nonstop if I had it here. So funny, 😁 dated but great to hear it again. Thanks for uploading this. 👍 😂 🤣 😂
I remember getting his albums as a kid. A Pain in the Arm, Carrott in Notts, and The Unrecorded Jasper Carrott. Extremely funny and even back then most of the material wouldn't be allowed to be shown. If you can track them down, it'll be one of the better things you've done this year!
Excellent my dads got this on LP at home I use to make him put it on every Christmas when I was younger. And as for all the old folks on about Double Diamond you can still get it! I was at a party back in the summer and they had double diamond on draft! According to all the old boys it just wasn't the same lol
My parents saw him live many years ago. Before me and my brother were born. I think that's where they got a cassette tape of his show from. I have the cassette tape on my bookshelf. And from the look of the case, it looks like it was from the 70's. The show was called 'A Pain in The Arm'.
I believe that this was written by a young man called Paul Webb back in the late sixties. He also wrote songs for Mike Harding and Bernard Wrigly. Sadly passed in 2003 in New Zealand. As I recall, was a regular at the old Brigg Folk Club in Leeds.
My boyfriend showed me this, and i'm so glad he did ... i'm constantly laughing at this!! =D There's got to be a video of Jasper performing this live somewhere! lol =P xoxox
Excellent! For all those who are wondering about the chords, he only really uses four: E, B, A and F# (all major). He accidentally started in E flat; I assume the capo was in the wrong place
I couldn't give a hen's cluck what chords he used. I feel you may be missing the point, sir? If you played the guitar inebriated , the correct chords may be hard to find....
@pipandchico ooooh yes. Do you remember party 4s and er...7s were they? I remember the lads using a screwdriver to get into them if they hadn't got the right opener. I was always popular (publican's daughter! had access too all kinds of openers...lol)
I know the lads on the Folk circuit all "shared" stuff back then? I can remember him using Fred Wedlock and Jake Thackeray material too but it didn't matter as we wouldn't have heard it if the hadn't "plagiarised"?
@Darkstar263 so did I twice and my only criticism would be that my ribs hurt so much from laughing and sometimes you missed the next joke because giggles had taken over. $ of us went and we were all as bad as each other.haha
I do have this on DVD. Its on an DVD Named Jasper Carrott back to the front. To the best of my knowledge it is still available. I got my copy via Amazon
Nobody can beat Jasper carrot

Saw Jasper live at the ABC Cinema in Northampton back in June 1978 and he did this song as it was nearing Christmas!
