This year, one of my most impactful realizations was how much stuff I can live without. As a self-professed lipstick addict and UA-camr, I had amassed an overwhelming-to-me amount of beauty products just a few years into my UA-cam game. By the end of 2020, I found most of it sitting in a corner collecting dust while my small makeup bag of around 10 products got all the love. Who knew?
Merit Beauty was created by CEO and co-founder of Who What Wear, Katherine Power. I’ve been an avid Who What Wear reader for years; I love the blog, I follow many of the editors on their social platforms, and I peruse the aisles of Target on the hunt for the latest Target x Who What Wear Collection pieces more often than I care to admit on the internet.
So, when the Merit team reached out to me to review their new five-minute makeup line, I was all ears…and lips…and face. (You get it.) The whole objective of the line is a minimalist aesthetic but also a minimalist approach. Less is more, and now more than ever, that’s something I can get behind. The products below are available now at Merit's website, and will be available at Sephora (as part of the "Clean Beauty at Sephora" section) starting mid-February.

Found your video because I just bought Merit's minimalist and wanted to hear a review that compares it to Glossier's stretch concealer which I happen to love. I think I will end up using both. I like to mix my products. I dot/dab a slightly lighter shade concealer all over on areas that I feel need some coverage, then I dot/dab (that's an official term now, haha!) another concealer (or a low coverage foundation) that's close to my skin tone or in this case the merit minimalist. I pat both products gently with my fingers until well blended and I find that this makes my skin look more natural because it gives it dimension unlike using just one shade. I also noticed that you had a hard time removing the merit mascara. That's because it's the tubing formula kind (it's on their product info). All you need to do to remove it is by using warm water while gently sliding it off your lashes (it doesn't dissolve with makeup remover). I would loosely compare tubing formulas to dipping a pencil (lashes) in rubber cement (mascara). You can't dissolve the glue off but you can easily roll it off. I have oily lids myself and found that only tubing formula mascaras such as Glossier's and Thrive's work for me. I would definitely try Merit's. Thank you for this review!

You did a wonderful job 👏 I own and love my glossier products. I'm interested in trying out the mascara, tinted lip oil, blush, highlighter and blush. I want the reusable makeup bag so I wonder if it's for sale.
I sewed the Merit bag at the top with a button and have used it for a purse.
Could you tell me which color Glossier stretch concealer your used? I know you didn’t love but I’m trying to sort what shade I would be in Merit and I think we might be similar shades! Thank you!!
Did you try using the blending brush with the foundation stick? I think that’s the reason why you received a blending brush with the foundation stick.
