I actually like these "favorite supplies" videos. It's fun to see what others are using and sometimes I discover something new that I can order for myself as a christmas present.
So glad you enjoy them! I never know if people will like them or not, but I always find this kind of stuff so fascinating and helpful lol. I hope you’re having a good day!
Dawn dish soap is also used to help clean up animals affected by oil spills, so i my opinion if its soft enough for use with animals then it should be ok on brushes too.
Super helpful video. I love your forest pencil case, I’ve asked my hubby to get it for me for Christmas - fingers crossed!! So excited ;) hugs from the uk 🇬🇧
Ha I use dish soap for my brushes too. It just gives such a good clean and so far so good! I have also switched to Arrtx, I never thought posca could be replaced but I barely reach for them anymore! The only thing I am yet to use is alcohol markers… my daughter loves them. Maybe it should be a goal for 2025, to learn the alcohol marker way! 😅
I really love your videos, you are so positive and calm and that makes me really happy, I love watching all your videos and your art is amazing, I just recently got into painting and I’m still quite young and have been really inspired by you
I love the Princeton Select mixed media brushes are really good as a gift because the artist can use them for acrylic, oil or watercolor which means you don’t need to know exactly what type of paint your loved one uses. I love them a lot, they are so soft.
Hi Mira! You mentioned that you go through white really fast for the acryla gouache, and I wanted to make a suggestion! If I recall correctly, Chinese White either is all or has some zinc white in it. If you want something that is a bit of a stronger white pigment, which may mean you can use less of it/it won't get overwhelmed by other colors as easily, I would go for the Titanium White! Permanent White is also going to be a stronger pigment than Chinese White, but it's been a while (I used to work at Blick, actually! Worked there almost 4 years, but it's been a couple of years already since I left...) so I don't remember offhand if Permanent White is also all titanium white pigment or if it has some of both titanium and zinc white in it... There are some differences in how titanium white vs. zinc white behave, so if you're used to Chinese White, then there may be things about it that you like or have at least warmed up to. If that's the case, then you could go for one that has both titanium and zinc white pigments in it, but if you like the idea of using a lot less white paint, I'd go for Titanium White! 😊
I recently started watching your videos I'm completely new to being artsy I'm more of a craft person but I'm trying to expand my horizons and I'm just really glad that I found your page I'm enjoying your videos especially your sketchbook videos thank you for all you do
@MiraByler that's a great question. I'm currently into my third year of diamond painting. I've also done jewelry making, wreath making, and I like the to paint ceramic pieces. So I guess I don't really have a favorite I just go with what I feel like 😂
I love your top. Really pretty. What a lovely range of art materials, exploring lots of different art supplies is so much fun, I have try try really hard not to buy more and videos like this don’t help😂 I really like your pencil cases, I am tempted to go and have a look and see if you deliver to the uk 😊
i have way too many pencil cases, but they are all for specific supplies so when i go out i know which ones to grab if i think im going to be drawing or painting 🙂 the only problem is if i grab the wrong one lol paint is no good if i dont have any brushes to use 😝
Thank you for this helpful and inspiring video=)I like that you are consistent - these supplies are excellent and work for you. So it might work for us as well=3 Wishing you a wonderful week=3
I am interested in those Arrtx markers. I've grown tired of the tedious Posca quirks of pumping blobs of paint where you don't want them and the endless shaking to wake them up. Seeing as I'll be shell-shocked for awhile by this 2024 election.... I will be needing some art therapy.
I love these types of videos! Just curious what yarn you used for the paint blotting rags? I always find new things to try that my favorite artists enjoy!! ❤ also just purchased the arrtx acrylic markers and Love them! They are so awesome. I also have a butchers tray too and so glad I have it.
I just love your heart! Question: what is the difference between paintbrushes for different mediums? Sometimes the info says it’s for acrylic, oil and water. Sometimes it specifies which medium. I am a novice (clearly!), so I’m not spending a lot of money, but I’d like to get most bang for my buck. I only use acrylic and watercolor (I don’t anticipate using oil in the near future). In this video, I don’t recall you mentioning anything about brushes for watercolor. Can I go from medium to medium with the same brush as long as I clean them well?
It's best to stick with brushes suited for watercolor and use separate brushes for acrylic. Mixed media brushes aren't so great for watercolor. In general watercolor brushes are softer and acrylic/other mediums, are stiffer.
Question about the acrylic-guache or the acrylic paint, I am some one who loves working with oil paints. I want to like acrylic for faster drying, but it often dries way too fast. Do either of these dry slower then a typical acrylic but faster than oil?
I love those Arrtx acrylic markers too I have tried so many different kinds of the others and they do not work that well either are dried up when you get them or they work a couple times and then do not., the Arrtx are so Kool ! I got them after seeing you use them and am so Thank ful you shared with us as I am so happy to have them now. it is so helpful when you share as I did not know those existed . 💖💖
Yes! I feel like they are very creamy too. From my experience, they don’t have as much paper pilling than Poscas. Still super versatile and can be used on so many surfaces too! I just love the brush nib 😁

I 100% agree with you!! 💜
Loved this video! I’ve asked for the arrtx acrylic markers sets for Christmas this year. They look like so much fun!
I really love these yearly “favorite art supplies” videos. It’s so nice to see what you use!
Glad you like them!
Thanks for sharing! I like your cases.
Thanks for watching!
The way I watch every video and know what you use often, I was able to guess every single thing you mentioned. 😂
I just bought a pouch!, I’m so excited!!
Yay!! I hope you like it!!

I am SUCH a fan that I could watch YOU watch paint dry!😂❤

Your shirt is beautiful ♥️

Early I love your videos so much as a 11 year old artist these videos inspire me so much ❤❤
So glad you enjoy them and that they inspire you!!

We have a new governor here in North Carolina. I am glad for My home State. 😊🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸

I think Mira's favorite color is purple. 💜
It is sage/mint. 😁
Have you tried the Sharpie paint pens yet? There's not too many colors, but I really like them!! ❤
Glad to hear you like them! It seems like many people have had positive reviews of the Sharpie paint markers! I haven't tried them.
@MiraByler video idea? :)
Slayyyyyyyyyyyy❤❤❤❤❤❤

you can get specifically ‘slower drying’ acrylics i remember. there is also water mixable oil paints which i think might dry a little faster?
No, but you could always get a fast drying medium to add to oil paints to make them dry faster, such as Galkyd.
I can’t find the sketchbook anywhere, do you have a link? I loveeeee a square sketchbook too but they are so small
The link is in the video description. 😁
I wanna get one of your pencil cases so badly but the shipping to the UK is more expensive than the bag itself (£18 bag, £19 shipping)
Totally understandable! I have no control over shipping prices, sadly. USPS charges a fortune to send anything out of the country :(
@@MiraByler I hope someday there's a way to reduce costs, postal services are so expensive these days😭
I love those Arrtx acrylic markers too I have tried so many different kinds of the others and they do not work that well either are dried up when you get them or they work a couple times and then do not., the Arrtx are so Kool ! Glad you are enjoying them! They are the best paint markers I have tried for sure! Nothing beats that smooth brush nib!
WATERCOLORPHOBIA. Lol.🤣
Lol, I needed to be honest! I wasn’t very into watercolor this year!
Has anyone tried the Arrtx colored pencils?
No mention of watercolour things . You do use , right ? I thought I’d seen you use watercolours before but maybe im mistaken .
I didn’t really use watercolor much this year. I haven’t been into it lately.
this makes me so jealousssss lol... you are really lucky you can afford all this!
=)
I loved this! @mirabyler what are acrylic markers like? Are they opaque?
Yes! I feel like they are very creamy too. From my experience, they don’t have as much paper pilling than Poscas. Still super versatile and can be used on so many surfaces too! I just love the brush nib 😁
