The Exorcist: Believer is a 2023 American supernatural horror film directed by David Gordon Green, who co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Sattler from a story by Scott Teems, Danny McBride, and Green. It serves as a direct sequel to The Exorcist (1973) and the sixth installment in The Exorcist film series, disregarding all previous installments.[5] The film stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz, Lidya Jewett, and Olivia Marcum, along with Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair reprising their roles from the original film as Chris MacNeil and Regan MacNeil, respectively. Its plot follows a photographer who must confront the nadir of evil when his daughter and her best friend are possessed.
Jason Blum served as a producer on the film through his Blumhouse Productions banner, alongside David C. and James G. Robinson through their Morgan Creek Entertainment banner, in association with executive producers Green and McBride's Rough House Pictures. The project began as sequel to the original film in December 2020. Universal Pictures collaborated with Peacock to acquire distribution rights in June 2021 for $400 million, with intentions of launching a new trilogy of The Exorcist films. Principal photography took place between November 2022 and March 2023 on a production budget of $30 million.
The Exorcist: Believer was released in the United States on October 6, 2023. The film received generally negative reviews from critics, who collectively believe it failed to reach the height and impact of the original film.[6] A sequel, entitled The Exorcist: Deceiver, is scheduled to be released on April 18, 2025.

I'll still watch this one only because I'm a completist. I'm really interested in what you will think of Exorcist II: the Heretic now that you say this new one is bad. Maybe you might think Exorcist II is worse than Exorcist Believer or maybe you will enjoy Exorcist II as a so bad it's good film. I'm dying to find out! I get what you mean, I watched it at home, I wouldn't give my money for it.
I watched this with a friend and we laughed a lot during it. We both think it was pretty bad, but we had a good time together. I think that films like this that try to be horror but fail so much that they become comedic shouldn't be watched alone.
Sure! Have some beers and any movie is a good time
And definitely shouldn't be watched at the theater, we don't wanna send the wrong message to filmmakers that we love these movies.
@@unknownname8591 I agree with the idea, but sometimes it's hard to do without seeing the film first, sure, we can judge films by reviews, but it doesn't always work.
@@KdosdaHegen oh I watched it at home. I usually do that: I start watching at home and either I stop the movie and finish it at the theater or I watch it twice if they are that good. But if the movie sucks, I watched it at home and didn't spend a penny on it.
maybe it’s about perspectives. Maybe if we look at it as a comedy movie, it’s not so bad after all 😂

The story made sense but there are really no scares. Pacing was off and overall it really lacked much style and I felt bored at times with it. Not the worse horror film of the year for me but, it wasn’t good and doesn’t even come close to the original.

It was literally by far the worst movies that I've seen in person. I literally spend over $15 too see that s×××. I personally felt like it should've been $1.75 online for a ticket 😂😂😂.

They pulled a "Barbie" on you again. They beat those themes in because maybe the audience won't pick up on it 😢 This was sooooo BAD!

I’ve lost interest in this movie because of how bad Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022) were from the director of this movie
The only good movies in this franchise were The Exorcist (1973), and Exorcist 3 (1990).

You didn't like Exorcist: The Avengers? No worries, nobody liked it. Only an hating atheist can come up with this idea, cuz I'm atheist but even I know you don't just bring up a bunch of different religions and pretend they all can do the same thing...
I just think they wanted to be “inclusive”
