David Gordon Green ruined Halloween franchise and will now ruin Exorcist
I just came from the theater; what a disgraceful movie. The Believer sucks. Awful plot all over the place. Baaaaaad. The only good thing about the film is Ellen B and Linda B.

one of the smartest things Ellen did career wise was refuse to star in the exorcist II: the heretic.
Movie sucked
The original book had meaning behind all the body horror. The head turn with Burk’s voice…etc. I hope this one is well thought out and goes to those dark places instead of keeping it PC. Just doing creepy voices, weird looks, and jump scares isn’t gonna cut it.

Just watched the original at the cinema last weekend. Stunning on the big screen. Going to see the new one this weekend. More in hope than expectation.

Having now seen 3 seasons of The righteous gemstones” i have a new appreciation for him and his work. I don’t particularly enjoy his Halloween films but i like him as a director

Friedkin had the "film god" on his side. The 70s (New Hollywood Era) was probably the best decade for it The Exorcist to have been made.
REEEEAAAALLLY do hope Linda Blair has a cameo role in this movie! Would be awesome to see "Mother & Daughter" again after 50years! I am soooo hyped for this film!!!
The death of cinema continues. Now a classic 70's film from the golden age of the American Director (that isn't Star Wars) has been re-quelized and stripped of any nuance, heart, or risk. Green should be ashamed.

That’s right, my signature film is about to be extended by the man who made “Pineapple Express.” I don’t want to be around when that happens. The spider walk was the scene that got me the most
It seems I’m in the minority here but I’m pretty excited to see this. I don’t love DGG’s Halloween trilogy, but I love so many of his other films and I love Friedkin’s original Exorcist.

This is another franchise that’s been flogged to death. What I’m seeing in trailers is repetitive and boring. Where are the original ideas like A Quiet Place & Last Night In Sota?

All over. Must not be able to see them through all the tears 😢
David Gordon Green, PLEASE take this advice: The Righteous Gemstones was one of the funniest series I've seen in years. I am yearning for more! Same with Pineapple Express, absolutely love it. Stick with comedy please. Stay far, far, far, far, far away from horror. Thank u!

DGG has been an influence on me since 2009. Have followed the man (professionally) for a long time.

There is only ONE Exorcist. RIP Billy Friedkin. This seems like a cash grab. I wish Universal had held Last Voyage of the Demeter until October. It’s a far better effort.
Of course it's a cash grab, what movie isn't? You think they didn't have dollar signs in their eyes when the original was made in 1973? And how do you know Demeter is a far better effort, have you seen the new Exorcist movie yet??

Im glad Jake is excited about every film going, he has to be I guess or he doesn't get these interviews, it's a bit like Ali Plumb here in the UK. But I question at what cost is that to ones integrity. let's be real, the film is a travesty, this coming after the Halloween trilogy being a horrendous slap in the face to Halloween fans and DGG/Blumhouse just aren't good enough to take on something as big as the Exorcist. Ellen Burstyn also didn't want to be involved until they donated to her charity 😂 Ironically it bombed. GG 👏

I had the absolute displeasure in seeing a test screening of this- something that the studio did a near record amount of times after really poor reactions. We really didn’t need this movie but here we are. I’m sure it’ll make a shit ton of money but yikes was it not good. Wonder if they’ve tried to alter it since I saw it months back
After The Exorcist came out, Friedkin was asked if he test screens his films ("audience-test" in the interview). He replied, "Never. I'll never audience-test a film as long as I live."
What was wrong with it? Did Linda Blair appear?
Very unsure on this movie. Pretty much hated most of what he did with the recent Halloween trilogy, and the trailers for this certainly haven’t sold me.. but I’ll still give it a chance.
I’m excited for this because why not? If it’s great then we had a good time. If it’s eh then we move on. I think DGG has, at the very least, reverence, for The Exorcist and understands it. Good enough for me.
Thanks for spoiling Linda's return. That hasn't been announced or marketed. You'll argue that "she returned as an on-set advisor" but you're clearly trying to have it both ways here.

I agree about the Spider-Walk. It’s just too over the top, at least the version they used in the 2000 version. The second version is much creepier but it just goes on too long.
I disagree about the Spider-Walk. That is one of the most scariest and memorable scene in (TVYNS: released in September 2000) that was never put in the original theatrical version! (TVYNS) is by far the better version and that includes the Spider-Walk!
Yeah true story about a little boy what happened to a little boy he was possessed you may want to find out there's a video about it a priest that talks I wish they will make a movie about that instead apparently people don't want to hear what is truth
Remake exorcist not a sequel
Remaking the original would be worse and piss off loads of people. The studio wouldn't be that stupid. trust me

David has ballz. Taking on "Halloween" is one thing. But "The Exorcist" represents the apex of filmmaking, and he appears unfazed by the (unachievable?) high bar that it has set. And I'll give him credit for giving the right answer: NAY to the "spider-walk" scene! That single observation actually gives me some hope that it won't be just another putrid sequel.
What?... The spider walk was one of the most terrifying scenes in the movie. Cab you elaborate on why you think nay was the right answer?
