    Welcome back to Aurora Tech Channel. Today, I am going to test out this FLSUN Super Racer, which is a Delta 3D printer that comes with some really good hardware, including the linear rails on all X, Y, and Z-axes, a BMG style dual gear extruder, a dual cooling fan, a volcano style hotend, a DWIN capacitive touch screen, a removable auto bed leveling sensor, a filament runout sensor, a 32-bit board, and TMC2209 silent stepper drivers. The diameter of the print bed is 260, and the maximum Z height is 330mm.
    The machine is almost 1 meter tall, and it’s an overall really interesting-looking printer. As this is a Delta printer, the main reason we want a Delta is to be able to print fast, so, we normally won’t see a direct drive extruder on a Delta as we always want the print head to be lightweight in order to print fast. This means that not adding the extruder and the stepper motor to the print head of a Delta is a good idea. The manufacturer claimed the normal printing speed of this printer is 150mm/s and can even print at 200mm/s, I will push it over its limit to 300mm/s and see how it handles that. I would like to thank FLSUN for sending me this machine to review, and with that, let’s get started.

    😀milliLITERS per second should become the next unit of measurement for super fast printing. Also "Benchy per KWh" for power usage.

    What can be said... It's another great 3D Printer review from the talented Aurora Tech team. I learn a lot about the industry by watching these videos. The Pros and Cons section have well thought out critiques that are impressive.
    This video was extra fun because the printer was just about as tall as the reviewer... but that never stopped her from taking full control of the situation... and making useful improvements to the overall outcome.
    Thanks for another useful review... I like watching this channel grow very much.

    Aurora Tech -- really great job as always! Based on your review I picked up a Super Racer and immediately replaced the ducts with the recommended improved versions. I added a pei-coated magnetic bed, but had adhesion problems until I slowed down and reduced the height of the first layer. I also roughened up the smooth pei with 400 grit sandpaper, cleaned with alcohol. Adhesion is now very good, and it's much easier to remove large parts. I am having a problem with the filament sensor, the printer just keeps going after the plastic runs out, even though the little blue light is off. Not sure what's up. Finally I found the Cura settings did not produce good quality infill (blobby and rough), it's just moving too fast. I reduced the infill speed by about 40%, kept everything else the same. Infill is now clean and only added a little to overall print times. In short, love this printer so far, it's my fastest yet!

    • @NeilWNC
      @NeilWNC Рік тому

      Update on my filament sensor problem. I solved it by carefully studying the output from Cura (which worked). Apparently the extruder in the SR must be run in absolute, not relative mode. This was an easy change in Simplify3d, and now the sensor works brilliantly. If anyone wants my Simplify3d V5 profile, post here and I'll make it available.

    So, they send you a Delta printer for review, you put it up, print and make this great video in one week? Would take me longer to read the manual and make the bloopers. Besides, this review is Fan-Tas-Tic again, thank you. I love the robotic motion of the Delta printers, fascinating like a camp fire. Again, I learned a lot. Keep it up Aurora and Helios, you are doing a great job. 19k subscribers, unreal. Have fun.

    I loved the video congratulations. I have a FLsun SR, but I've only been using it for a short time. I had some problems, one of them was that the film that covers the base tore when removing a piece. And now I'm left with a torn base. Another issue is that I find the extruder very weak, the gear wheels quickly become ground.

    Hey great review! I hope you wrote a invoice to FLSUN. Making good modifications is not reviewing, its consulting and engineering work. They should pay you for it.
    But why doesnt it go 3x as fast as an ender? It should with your mm/s number.... acceleration is the key. I think you should take that into consideration when talking speed. Going to 200mm/s, upping the outer layer speed closer to the max speed, and upping acceleration could do more than just plainly going to 300mm/s ;)

I’ve been having some issues with stringing intermittently while printing at less than half the speed of in this video.

    this or the ender 3 s1/pro?

    • @AuroraTech

      If you print PLA most of the time and occasionally PETG and ABS, this printer is the best. If you need to print other filaments like Nylon, Carbon fiber, PC, you need the Ender3 S1 Pro.

      @@AuroraTech what about the quality of prints between the regular ender s1 pro and the flsun sr? I'm willing to wait as long as the quality is good

    • @AuroraTech
      @AuroraTech  2 роки тому +2

      The layer lines of the FLSUN SR are better than Ender-3 S1 Pro, Prusa MK3S+, or any Cartesian style printer that swing the print bed back and forth. But if you print something with a crazy amount of retraction like the Eiffel tower, a machine with a direct extruder prints better than the machine with a Bowden set up. So, it really depends on what you print.

    Thats the Problem with all these Super Speed Tests and Printer. They all working fine withe the useless PLA. No Printer reaches thus Speed with the more usefull PETG. Then you must modify and so on. So i always buy used Printers, because i have to replace all the Hotend Stuff ..
