  • I built this power hammer with plans I got from black Smith Roy Adams from Christ Centered Ironworks . I took his ideas and put my own touch to it it turned out well I hope you like....if do please give it a thumbs up and Leave comment if you like. Thanks for watching!!

    THAT is a pretty clever setup. I have several old (corded) hand drills kicking about, and I could see putting something like this together. All you really need is spring-loaded switch to turn on the motor whenever you step on the foot treadle, and you'll be fully automatic.

    Nice one! Would you give us a closer look at the drive cam. I couldn't tell how it was set up by the video.

      yes it did it has a 12lb head so I need a heavier duty spring thanks for the compliment

    Using larger pulleys (still at your 1:1 ratio) should add some reliability and torque to the hammer - small pulleys on a V belt don't translate torque super well, using two 4" or 6" pulleys will give much more surface area for the belt to grab.

    Wow! That has some serious smack down to it! Nice! Can you rotate the hammer head? It would be helpful to have a fuller. Turn your camera to portrait mode when filming so we can get a nice wide screen view.

    it is quite effective, I did not think a drill would be able to move something that heavy that fast they are designed for a certain rpm and loading after all, but it works and its a solid built design.
    Its good as a follower of Roy I can say about it.
