If you ever seen Ozzy live, you’d know how accurate Henry’s imitation is. That’s exactly what Ozzy does on stage.
Forgot the headbanging claps lol
Yup
I have once in St. Louis at the Riverport and yup pretty damn close imitation and I loved every second of it
@@jimforehand7571 been to many a show there. Ozzfest. GnR riot to name a couple
@@Fnberg744 hell yeah, I've only been there that 1 time for ozzfest the year he released black rain album
I was doing security once at OzzFest and I walked around the corner and ran right into Ozzy. I just started crying, I've been a fan of his since the 70's. He was very cool about it, he held my arm and talked to me for a while. It was great.
Awesome! Sounds like you weren't expecting it, and just got overwhelmed. I've no idea how I would react, could be the same as you \m/
At NYCC 2017, Mark Hamill basically popped out from one of the dividers in the autograph area from the backstage area and started taking pics with people. I nearly had a heart attack. While I'm not that knowledgable about much of Ozzy's music, I will admit meeting him would be a trip.
@@sweathogsvinnybobarino9333 Bro that sucks! :(
Bill I see you everywhere
He was almost speachless when he met Paul McCartney, it's on UA-cam, so he probably totally understood. What a great experience. I usually just leave them all alone to avoid things like that happening but you practically bumped right into him by accident, ha. That is great.
If hearing Sabbath didn't change your life, you've been asleep at the switch.
+Will Gold Hearing Deep Purple and Joe Walsh changed mine
Yes sir! Changed the way I played guitar too! The riffs, man!
Hellwyck Black Sabbath did change my life, but so did The Beatles, The Who, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, Velvet Underground, The Beach Boys, and so many others.
Craig Colby Me too man...!!! The distorted opening bass line with it's raw sound/tone totally changed my world.... I was about 10.... 40 years later Sabbath is STILL my fave band!
Very true. That ascending bass line in after forever stretches my brain everytime
His voice impression of Ozzy wasnt the best (not quite British enough), but when he did Ozzy's onstage mannerism, he absolutely nailed it. 100 out of 100. Great story Henry.
@Rowan Melton To outsiders, it's mostly all the same. Similar to how many British people act like there's one defined "American" accent when you can have 3+ in the same city, let alone the entire country.
@Rowan Melton stfu
@Seth Belfort ok
Brummie isn't quite English enough haha
He wasn’t really trying to accurately do Ozzys voice
Love hearing how cool Ozzy was to Henry, that's exactly how I hoped he would be too
Yeah I met Henry Rollins once and he treated me like I was a fucking shit stain on his shoe.
@@dpedroam4107 give the story plez lmao
@@dpedroam4107 he seems like the kinda of guy thats mean to strangers lol
Ozzy is cool as fuck. Lemmy is also really good to his opening bands. From what I've hers Rollins is a douchbag
Ozzy is a nice dude. I love him so much.
His OZZY impression is way too understandable.
Hearing "Sweet Leaf" while smoking weed, at the age of 16, changed my life.
Bro their enyire early catalog is my latest favorite music to smoke pot to.
Yep, it was Sweet Leaf really hit home with me.
Bruh deadass
For sure bro
vol 4 is awesome as well under the sun is my favourite
"doesn't really know where he is.... Rock n Roll!" lolol
He's right there, the Ward/Butler combo was one of THE most underrated rhythm sections in history. Iommi is the "God of Riff". It's hard to top Sabbath, when it comes to greatest metal bands....they basically created the genre. The darkness, the anti-rock star image, scaring the parents, ALL OF IT. Even their name, "Black Sabbath"....who has a better name in metal history?
Judas Priest
Zep did it first and better.
I love Zep but when it comes to early metal I think we know who the clear winner is. Sabbath jump started a whole new genre with a single riff and then did things darker and deeper than ever before. Zep just jacked other artists' songs in their early days, gave them a slightly heavier edge, and then occasionally dabbled in things that could be considered metal here and there.
@@flacidhouse350 Sabbath brought the darkness that Zep was lacking. Zep ushered in hard rock, Sabbath broke ground on metal.
@@davedmk Dazed and Confused is Darker than anything Sabbath ever did and it was out before they existed. Zep was Metal before Sabbath thought about it. Sabbath got the Idea from Zep. Sabbath doesn't even palm mute and they did catch up to the drums playing the guitar riff until later. Everything that's metal came from Zep except for wearing black, talking about the devil, and light gauge strings. If you think that's all there is to metal I can see how you got confused.
This made me feel so happy for Henry. It’s like hearing a kid talking about his first trip to a toy store. No one deserves more... big ups.
I'm glad one of his heroes ozzy wasn't mean to him
Broto theWilliams Ozzy is pretty much always nice he’s awesome
Sometimes he looked like Jim Carrey after some extra Workouts in the Gym
I met Ozzy in the late 80’s when I was working at a store in LA as a kid. He was so nice and down to earth. I told him what Randy meant to me. He responded by telling me about the Randy Rhoads tribute album that was going to be released in the not too distant future.
That's Ozzys best album
Why hasnt henry rollins played The Punisher yet?
He can play bitter damaged characters. Watch the movie "He Never Died." I guess just seeing his natural attitude is more fun? Not sure what comic book character he'd fit though normally.
Rollins says himself he's not much of an actor.
That... would be perfect.
genius
That’s a great point
say what you want about Rollins. The guy can tell a great story. Keeps you interested.
thats a great story??? i almost fell asleep
Milton S say watchu want bitch boy
It's simple: It's impossible to dislike Ozzy.
"doesn't know where he is" lol, thats Ozzy.
Was most probably high.
Ozzy doesn't know WHO he is.
Ozzy didn't care where he was. (As long as he didn't miss his own concert.)
....as i am an Ozzy fan for ages, it's sooo nice to hear Henry loves him. As i respect HR more and more as he becomes an older and more or less milder and less angry hahaha
kinda the same here. I won't say I respect him more cause I always like Rollins but he damn sure has mellowed out so much over the years.
He may have called it "spoken word" but Rollins is a great standup comedian. He has excellent delivery, timing, and great stories!
doesn't tell a single joke yet the audience is in hysterics.
jon glaser He appears a bit stupid.
jon glaser You probably won't understand if you're under 42.
Jim Adams Henry Rollins is a very funny dude. He needs to do more of these shows.
Reggae Fan Agreed!
He's got the gift of gab. He can relate to people. What's cooler than that
Bill Ward was the ultimate percussionist. He had as many personal issues as he was great. Geezer plays bass like God. Tony on guitar and you have the founders of metal.
Back in the day, I actually got to meet Tony and Geezer after a gig. No meet and greet in those days. Just me and the two of them at the stage door. Can you imagine?
I've never seen or heard a bad Henry Rollins show.
Serioussmile51 wykked siqq avatar broski!!!! see u at da gatherinG!!!
He is a gifted story teller... I saw him 2016 right after the election and he was brilliant
It’s not like he attracts an audience of haters! 😂
This is about how I felt when I interviewed Rollins for a local paper. Fan boying out the entire time.
for those who seem to be confused or clueless, henry is a humorist, an ex-punk vocalist who tells anecdotal stories for everyone's amusement, about the rock world. pretty cool stuff.
No shit
Will Whitman I loved cut my life into pieces
He's also a gynaecologist for the FBI
He's good at it
i know there’s some sarcastic replies here, but i really didn’t know who he is so thanks
Henry is brilliant. His music rocks and his lectures are incredible. It just flows out of him. Very humble. Wouldn't want to mess with him either.
Richard Binder Do not forget his photography and writing
Yeah pissing him isn't a good idea bc he takes no shit from anybody
He got mouthy with me at a hotel one night, so i had to slap him around a little, put him in line so to speak. Ended up with lifetime passes to all his shows, he's a great guy once you slap the cockyness outa him😡👊🏻
@@bigfan9805 really? No way! You slapped Henry Rollins?? Wow!!
@@charlenepickett6414 you should really stop believing everything you hear
2004 Ozzfest in Belgium... My first concert ever...Ozzy is a legend!
Welcome... Even only just begun and better yet and still...
You have youth on your side 😜
Black Sabbath are easily one of the best and most influential rock bands ever, no need discussion..They were awesome beyond words!!
When I was younger, I always wondered why Rollins' stand up "spoken word" shit was so damned popular and then you see gems likes this, and you get it! 🤘🏻
Holy shit i just realized it was iron man that got me into metal. I had thought it was megadeth but it was in my dads shop even younger that i heard sabbath. This actually brought back a suppressed memory. Wow
That Ozzy on stage impression is 100% accurate
Saw Ozzy in the UK 1980 with RR, Kerslake and Daisley.
We couldn't get tickets.
They were small venues and sold out quick!!!
You had to queue for tickets then.
I couldn't get there.
They were £2-.
Henry Rollins looks like this genetic reject from some ancient branch of humanity. You'd think he would be dumb as a box of hammers but he is truly a talented man. I've enjoyed hearing him speak, sing and acting...He Never Died was a very under appreciated gem. Hearing this story, most accurate stage impersonation ever of Ozzy...he just forgot the buckets of water.
He looks like Bruce Campbells brother.
I SAW THIS SHOW HENRY IS TALKING ABOUT. IT WAS AT TROPICANA FIELD IN ST.PETE FLORIDA, TYPE O NEGATIVE ALSO PLAYED. GREAT SHOW!!!!
I'd like to have watched Henry and Petah hang out.
I was also there I remember ozzy screaming let's get crazy and the whole venue rushing the stage it was such a great time
Anyone remember that time Ozzy smiled at Juliya from FUSE? A smile made her cry.
Rock n Roll
MISTRESS JULIYA! Love her Type O Negative interviews.
Both Ozzy and Henry Rollins seem like genuinely cool dudes!
ive had the pleasure of hanging with BLACK SABBATH.................THE ORIGINAL BLACK SABBATH, awesome real gentlemen
King David what was so awesome about them?
Jealous as fuck if it's true
+Greg Dahlen they changed the world of rock, whats not awesome about them
+ToxicDestruction Let me know when you're jealous
King David COOL!!! The real Sabbath!! So cool! I am jealous. Tell me, what were Ronnie Jame Dio and Vinnie Appiece like in real life? Sad that Dio and Geoff Nichols passed. The real Sabbath.
Ozzy's cigar phase. Started with one in the evening and escalated to chainsmoking the things until he literally couldn't breathe anymore. The poor guy can't do anything in moderation, it's like he was born to be an addict.
Nicest guy in sabbath was Bill Ward
Hes the kind of guy to ask everyone in line for autographs a personal question, because he actually did
Shame what they did to him
The Anti Christ nice edgy name, fuckface
@The Anti Christ and who the fuck says "soyboy" hahahahhaha damn, how old are you?
No one has original comments these days you’ve gotta have a really frail sense of masculinity to say shit like that lmfao.
What did they do to him?
@Corby Dorian whoa you're a real tough guy eh
Being in a band that has opened soooooo many shows, Henry is spot on about being the opening act. His Ozzy impression is dead on as well.
What he says about Ozzy's crowds is so true. I saw Ozzy around that time and the crowd went absolutely crazy when he took the stage. And Black Sabbath is the greatest metal band in history.
Helium Road They created that heavier sound we call heavy metal. So of course they're the best.
@@patrickmccutcheon8860 my friend who loves Heavy Metal doesn't consider them Metal. I think he's fucking nuts lol
@@patrickmccutcheon8860 No they didn't. That was Zep.
@Deplorable Cat They are heavier than Sabbath. Sabbath admitted to copying Zep's sound. Read up on this.
@Deplorable Cat Hey, it's that stupid thing people that don't actually know anything about Led Zeppelin say. You should look into it.
Love Henry's stand up stuff. He's a fucking great storyteller
Geezer is probably one of my favorite bassists of all time.
Also wrote nearly all the lyrics for sabbath
@@nathandavidhallI did not know that. And all this time I thought it was Ozzy. You'd think right? Cause he has that extroverted personality like Vince Neil
You are one hard working man. You earned that. Keep it heavy, Henry.
best part... god I wish I had one of my ozzy records here so he could sign mine too, hey kid can I borrow that cool gold ink marker. gotta love guys in bands who still look at other people in bands as fan boys
I wish I loved hearing Henry Rollins talk as much as he does.
Geez, Butler was perhaps the reason I got started playing bass when I was 10. Damn fine music
Right, and a great lyric writer as well
People can make fun of Ozzy and hate on him all they want. They're are not many musicians that have the influence or longevity he has had. There will never be another like him😝🤘 🔥
Lived in a small town in West Texas called Odessa for about my first 17 years. I got a Panasonic ball radio in 1974. All they played was the top 40 pop music 24/7. One Friday night I was scrolling the dial and Odessa College played heavy metal from 9 to midnight on Friday night and Saturday night. Imagine going from ABBA Neil Sedaka and Elton John straight into Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and Jefferson Airplane which they never played on the radio. The year is 1973 I still remember it like yesterday when I found heavy metal totally blew me away. My first heavy metal album that I bought with my money was Aerosmith Get Your Wings. I would play that album over and over and over until I memorize the words to all the songs. I understand exactly what Henry felt. Now I'm 60 and it's just as good today as it ever was.
Get your wings is an amazing album. My fav by the band. Lord of the thighs and Spaced were my dad and my faves
"Enormodome"
Spinal Tap joke
Awesome
Not one individual in that audience got it
LOL
I could listen to him all day and never get tired.
Love that he can fan boy like us. Nice man should be written on his shirt. Lol
I really like Henry... fascinating guy, intelligent, interesting, funny. I've heard countless people say that Ozzy is a good guy, and very down to earth.
First time seeing this Love Ozzy and Henry thank you for the upload 🤘❤🤘
I could listen to Henry just tell stories for hours.
Loving his shows
that's what's it's all about... we'll die metal heads forever!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💥💥💥💥
This is fucking great.
I love how much of a humble fan type dude he is. He's like a fuckin 20 year old kid tellin a story it's great
The greatest musicians are always great fans too!!
I LOVE how corny, dorky, and authentic he is. He's so good.
Love Henry Rollins. Dude is pure honesty.
Henry Rollins is a great storyteller, as this video shows. His enthusiasm is infectious.
It was a great night when I saw Sabbath live at Ozzfest. Original band members, I am fortunate enough to have been there.
The first time I saw Sabbath was in 1970 and now I’m 70, went to many Sabbath, Ozzy and OZZfest shows over the years.
I wasn't too familiar with Henry Rollins,'till Liar song came out, then saw Henry on Joe Rogan podcast,He's very interesting dude,Master of Reality is the album, that brought me closer to Black Sabbath
T-shirt and dress pants. Top notch 90s wardrobe, Hank...
Henry Rollins can pull off “geek” about as well as I can pull off Henry Rollins :)
Henry came out to us in Qatar many years back.... he was genuine as hell back then. Really nice guy.
Thanks for your visit Sir!
I discovered Black Sabbath in1976-77 somewhere in there it was one of four 8 tracks I bought Paranoid awesome album
This tape is priceless, the rocky story is amazing.
Henry is one of the most fascinating people I have ever seen, read, watched.......good stuff.....
whoever said "never meet your heroes" never met any _real_ heroes like Henry did.
Exactly ! :)
Henry Rollins is awesome and tells ya like it is.
This man has the voice of a video game announcer. Everything he says is just in all caps, bold, and with reverb
Dude man, that was an awesome
Story!! I enjoyed listening to what you had to say about your experience with ozzy. I almost felt like I was there, while
Listening to you. Awesome awesome!!!
From punk to stand up comedy... pretty groovy...
+Bacon Nivison Spoken word, not comedy
So, he finally likes something. Amazing.
frank bonini wow I’ll have to check that out.
Right? Rollins is a pseudointellectual dipshit who isn't even the best frontman of Black Flag.
My family came to Australia, from Aston/Birmingham. My pop (Grandfather), when I would talk to him, reminds me so much of Black Sabbath. It's not just the accent, although it's a big part. It's the working class mentality those men have from growing up in that part of England. The phrase "We work hard, and we play hard" takes on a whole new meaning when I meet people from that time and place. Working in those factories, back when the HP Sauce factory was still there........
I have a couple of Aston Villa hoodies I wear, and now that's it winter, I'll be rocking them again. They are a bit tattered. But when I throw them on, I feel the energy of Ozzy/Iommi/Butler/Ward coursing threw my veins..... I walk just a little bit taller.... Just another freak in the freak kingdom.... Living The Dream.
thx u henry for telling ozzy with so funny😂😂😂i luv it
Rollins is badass in a comedic way, great stage presence
When did Jim Carrey start taking steroids?
Fri13juggla when did juggalos find out about henry

Hahahahaha
Hahaha I never noticed that before
Wow. You're interpretation of reality must keep you thoroughly entertained
Awesome storytelling Henry. Cool.
H.E.N.R.Y. AWESOME...
He is so much fun. Hard to imagine black flag singer for a comedian show but it's soooo good
+Eve Nam It's not a comedy show, he's just entertaining.
Ozzy's a Brummie, someone who comes from Birmingham in the UK. Most down to earth people you could meet, like Scousers, Glaswegians and Geordies.
This is SO great
I saw Ozzy first time in 1978 Never say die tour Manchester appollo England. Was right at the front and only a few feet away from him and the band. Never forgotten it. And wish I had a time machine to go back. Great story thanks .
That EnormoDome line went totally missed, who is this audience!
Very cool
I love Henry he is the theatre nerd you want to hang with.
I love it so much that Henry is a total fan boy, not only for Ozzy and Black Sabbath but a lot of artists.
Black Sabbath had influenced so many. Even Seattle grunge bands.
3:50 Most accurate Ozzy impression ever.
Henry Rollings is one of the greatest story tellers in history
Cannot wait to see you in June in Sydney.
Seeing hardcore Henry Rollins go totally fanboy is awesome!
"greatest rhythm section in rock & roll is Bill Ward and Geezer Butler"
--say it loud for the people in the back--
awesome. a literal dream come true.
Awesome!
Ive seen early flyers to promote Sabbaths 1st tour. They read,"Black Sabbath" Makes Zeppelin sound like a kindergarten house band! Lol
This is so cute 😂
I did not know he was stand up too. I love his music and now his comedy. What a genius. Also, i know the feel, I've jad a meet and greet with Ozzy in 2013 here in Brazin, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais and I froze, I was so awestruck I just raised my hand and said "Hi... Hi, Ozzy". And he hugged me and messed with my hair and said I should calm down and smile for the cameras. Ozzy is the greatest.
Great story !!!
Henry says (Sharon) “she’s really cool” hmmm, contrary to popular belief I guess
She's kept Ozzy alive all this time and he worships her, good enough for me. I don't listen to rumours.
To be fair, that's personal experience vs just hearing things
It still doesn't change that she pressured Ozzy's musician's into signing away their own writing credits.
If you know who Sharon's father was, you understand why she is the way she is.
That's an explanation, not an excuse, mind you.
