If you where a good runner with and without weight on your back you instantly got respect and it made your life much easier.

What if you are trying real hard, all you do is work-work-work, but regardless, through no fault of your own, you constantly get showered with comfort? Seriously, say you're trying to achieve pain, but everywhere you turn: comfort! Or, let's be realistic: Say you're in pain. And you're walking to work, as you do every day obviously, and then out of nowhere: COMFORT ambushes you! Alright, maybe you've turned a corner or something, let your guard down for a second, can't always be perfect, no matter how hard you try, and so it catches you, eventually... Point is, you can try as much as you want, constantly working, in horror and shame, but you'll never be safe from comfort suddenly attacking. (Unless you are on PEDs perhaps, or if you're rich enough to hire personal torturers, but a completely comfortless life's worth of time can't be guaranteed naturally. I know there's the argument that concentration camp inmates/victims are exceptions, but be real: those are the lucky ones. Not everyone can be that lucky, there's not enough concentration camp places for all. So we have to struggle with what we have and be gracious for every bit of pain we may endure.)
