    It was his voice here that made a massive impression on Bon Scott and he told the band about Brian. Previously he didn't sing with that pitch. After Bon died they asked Brian to audition and the rest is history

      umm..bur this is previously and he IS singing what that pitch?
      I thought the same from what I heard but this is way prior to his audition and he sounds more or less the same.

      And the irony is that he stopped "singing" when he got to ACDC and within 3 albums he completely destroyed his voice and was never the same again after Flick of the Switch. He should have continued to SING like he did in Geordie and saved his voice for DECADES to come instead of a mere 3-4 years.

    I saw Geordie around 3 years ago when 2 of the original guys reformed. The singer at that point is a friend who also sings in an AC/DC cover band. Both bands are amazing…

      @@petegalloway2466 actually, Brian had largely given up on it if you watch his interviews, saying playing in Geordie had pretty much left him penniless. That, and he thought at age 32 he was past his prime. That hoover commercial he did, and that random phone call to audition, changed his life.

      No, he's not. He was pretty good here, but no way top 3. Freddie, Plant, Paul Rodgers, Steve Marriott, Steve Winwood, Ian Gillan, to name just a few.

      They did a few years ago. Brian's voice was so shot he can't sing any of those 70's Geordie songs any longer.

      @@trucker8666 bon scott is my favorite vocalist and acdc is my favorite band.. if u were the same u would know damn well those arent his lyrics. those lyrics were meant to be sung by brian johnson. the tone changed completely. it didnt have the zest of bon but it had the grit of brian
