      He can sing, but at the same time I say that he was better as a singer when he was with Geordie: he seemed to be able to sing every kind of music.
      With AC/DC he has reduced his range and in the comparison with Bon Scott (as "the" singer of AC/DC), to me he comes out as the loser.

  • @JayTor2112

    When he starts singing high you can hear his early AC/DC vocals a bit. With AC/DC he just sang much louder, then he blew out his voice somewhere in the mid 80's had had to go falsetto from there. At least that's how it seems to my ears. You can clearly hear a full throated screaming voice on Back in Black and the next couple albums, but on Razor's Edge it sounds more like a falsetto trying to imitate how he used to sound.

    • @Paolo8772
      @Paolo8772 6 років тому +1

      Back in Black was also sung in falsetto, although he sung better on that album than in other AC/DC albums. Johnson naturally had a baritone voice and is probably bass now.

    • @dupersuper6516
      @dupersuper6516 4 роки тому +5

      Man y'all don't know what a falsetto is lmfao

    • @chuckkourouklis1980
      @chuckkourouklis1980 4 роки тому

      Well, falsetto, not falsetto, point stands. There's a tiny bit of wear audible album by album from Back in Black thru For Those About To Rock to Flick Of The Switch. More drastic on Fly On The Wall, lots more on Blow Up Your Video, and then a pretty laryngitic gargle from Razor's Edge thru Stiff Upper lip (one kid new to Dacca heard Thunderstruck the first time and asked "who's the old lady singing" - OUCH). And what can anyone expect? That kind of thrashing isn't sustainable indefinitely - which made it all the more jaw-dropping and miraculous when Johnson returned with much of his edge and snarl back on Black Ice, sounding better than he had since 1988.

    The guitar riff sounds like The Razors Edge intro.

      I think it sounds more like Are You Ready but I can also here a bit of The Razor's Edge riff too.

    So weird seeing Brian dress trendy.
    Also I can’t believe that in 5 years, he goes from being a borderline country singer( yeah I know they were a glam rock band but still) to becoming one of the greatest hard rock singers of all time.
    I wish Angus had Brian had do a Ride on type song before his voice completely changed by the time they got to FOTW.

    I have just read Brians book, "The Lives of Brian".And in it he describes how Geordie got their foot through the door but never made it all the way through to stardom.And after hearing their songs i kind of get it, I like them and they are all pretty good but there is nothing great and memorable about them. Did he ever do any Geordie numbers with AC/DC while on tour. Its a great book and he has had a fantastic and interesting life, i highly recommend it.
