This hurt my soul, but once I saw him riffle shuffle like that, my whole body was dragged into hell.
🤣
Same i literally saw horns grow on the mans head
The worst 😫
You could just HEAR the screams of the money cards losing their value.
Man had fetches in there 😭😭
'I'll set this land card face down in defence mode'
LOL, that was great. Thanks for the laugh! 😂
👏👏👏
"Play your last pathetic land Yugi!"
It would have been facedown sideways
Defence mode is tapped. Upside down cards are sets.
The moment he picked up his entire deck to draw one card I'm calling the judge, there's no way I'm gonna trust that.
I could understand if maybe he just sleeved his cards with new ones. One time I played EDH right after sleeving up some brand new Ultimate Guard sleeves and those things were more slippery than an eel made of Vaseline.
Brand new sleeves can get sketchy. While I don't support picking up the whole deck I don't mind people holding the deck to make sure only one card slides off top. I've seen drawing one card pull 4 or 5 cards off the top and have 1 of them flip over for everyone to see.
@@cheeseburgerpaladinAs slippery as sleeves can be in no way would they ever warrant needing to pick up the whole deck to pick up the literal top card on the deck. >.>

Lol call a judge for Commander. That’s hilarious.
Did you Rule 0 disallow casual gameplay? 😂
“Is that a morphed creature?”
“No silly. It’s a tapped land.”

Head on a pike can be justified.

@@Tzzrt_Unbrkn I just rewatched the vid and I nearly had a heart attck from the shuffle jumpscare. Be warned, all.
Why is this shuffle so triggering to everyone? This is how we all used to shuffle our deck back in the day.
@@jonnynice8366 mostly due to how damaging that kind of shuffling is for the cards when done improperly, as it puts a lot more stress on them than it would with playing cards. Those are designed to withstand shuffling like that for a much longer period of time.

''okay, well lets see what the judge thinks about that''
Picking the entire deck up to draw the card is so underrated. I think that was the funniest part 😂
I played against someone like this, not this bad, but he admitted to me that he did it to throw people off. That is what we in Magic call " a dick move."
It's up there with the "Do not give your opponent the advantage of clean air" types ...
@@trolleymouse LMAO
Like the player who "accidentally" lets a counterspell drop out of their hand when you're starting to tap your lands for a big spell.
That is what I would call "a Richard relocation"
It's also illegal in a tournament setting to my understanding.
If my opponent flips a card face down that is in play and is supposed to be revealed I’m calling a judge
Indeed. And if the player insists that they can do that they might even get a match loss for it.
To not mention that they placed their non-land permanents below their lands..
MTR 4.7: "From the player’s perspective, nonlands must be kept closer to the player’s opponent than lands, and no non-land cards should be between the land area and the edge of the table closest to the player."
And just for good measure (also MTR 4.7):
"The player’s library, graveyard, and exiled cards should be kept all to the left of the battlefield or all to the right of the battlefield at the player’s discretion.
The player’s graveyard and exiled cards should be adjacent to the player’s library. All three should be distinct at all times."

Just make your gy the stack so all your spells go there immediately after resolving
I was willing to look past most of it. But when he shuffled the cards I wanted to scream in a mix of anger and fear
I wasn't ready for that. Just bursted in laughter
I specifically ordered the full text Forest because it describes Tapping as turning the card 90° because a friend that occasionally sits to my left barely taps his lands 45° and makes keeping track of open mana more difficult. He’s newer and doesn’t think it’s a huge deal, but he’s also never used a control or midrange deck lol.
Must find a way to balance my lands on their edge.. Hey, it's 90 degrees
@@Fobia17 just over there building card houses lol
This is awkward. I've played since 2014 and I do a 45° tap because it's easier for me.
@@williamstoneman6977 if your friends don’t mind it and you’re not trying to use it for an unfair advantage, I’m sure you’re fine. I just struggle a bit with it at times and end up asking if the lands are tapped or not, which slows the game a bit. Usually I try to sit in the left corner to avoid it but sometimes he gets settled before me.
@@dustin89clanton yeah nobody has really asked before because I tend to play green and red decks and I almost never run response cards. It makes it easy to play against me because I'm too small brain to plan out moves on other people's turns. I'd rather just bonk em with a 7/7 dino

I love this. Definitely gotta give this play style a test. Especially that satisfying shuffle. I have no plans to resell cards, it’s just cardboard and ink anyway.
Its an actual rule that lands are closest to the player and non land cards are closest to your opponent. the exception to this rule is mana rocks that only tap for mana. those can be with your lands, but they cant be hidden underneath your lands.
Yep Rule 4.7 it also includes info about the graveyard.

When he shuffled like that, I screamed out loud in fear.

Whats wrong with clockwise
for everything else it was kinda tame but for when he shuffled the cards i literally whiplashed
Same. I felt it in my soul. The pain.
Well the flipping the lands upside thing is just straight up illegal. So I wouldn't call that tame. It's now indistinguishable from a morph or manifest, and makes it so you can't just look and see what he's got for color pibs in his lands.
It's amazing how quick you can make a card game player have mental breakdown over the smallest things. Humans man.

The riffle shuffle though is sacreligious.
"Thats just how I play, you're just gonna have to deal with it" except I actually don't, because thank God there are official rules preventing stuff like this.
One minor issue: the rules you’re thinking of exist within the Magic Tournament Rules (MTR) document. What are you going to do? Call a judge on your friend/opponent for not maintaining a clear/readable board state in a casual game of commander at your house?
@@mcmarco137 Um...stop playing with that person ?
@@mcmarco137 yes
I remember this scenario happening on a few occasions.
Each & every casual & multiplayer group just told one guy who does the same crap seen in the video above that he couldn't play in the group anymore bc he wasn't willing to play/arrange his cards normally & he was likely doing what he was doing to confuse people deliberately. He was stubborn & unwilling to change. Casual groups who knew his unbearable track record warned other groups to never let him play bc of these factors.
Bc he never learned.
And that occurred with two people this year alone, & almost a dozen in the last 5 years.
There were 17 total cases of this happening in tournaments for regular or EDH inclusive pre release or launch events.
The was while at my local FNM 6 weeks ago that a dude picked up his whole deck to draw a card which made me call over a judge to explain what was happening while voicing my concerns. the other dude was told by a previous judge in that same FNM event that he can hold the deck down to draw but can't pick the entire deck up as it's not technically permitted in tournaments to prevent cheating by stopping players slipping cards not directly on top of their decks into their hands.
Dude was like "oohhhKAYYYYY???" like he was mildly miffed. He was told if he violates rules or strictures once more that week, he'd be reported to Wizards Play Network (WPN) & could be suspended from 5 future MTG Qualifiers &/or Grand Prix events & 20 future FNM events.
He then started to place his graveyard below the lands & his creatures where the graveyard normally is & it was confusing me to no end while raising everyone's hackles. His deck was above his Lands already & that alone was getting people irritated. Regardless, once again I called a judge over.
Dude was told to place his cards in their appropriate places. Dude said aloud "this is how I play, so cry about it. Stop telling me how to place or interact with my cards, you're being a complete jerk." He was disqualified from the event & suspended for life.
this would make me commit devious acts
