Politely disagreeing. I think Derek plays with more feeling than just about anyone, especially the slide stuff. Definitely agree about Susan and Marcus. Susan is great, Marcus has chops, but at least on this tune, no phrasing, just "hey, look at these cool licks I learned from my jazz teacher".
Jonathan Brazee , I really have to agree with you about Susan she really does play really great blues guitar, maybe not enough . But,maybe not in this song , but for the most part Derek plays some of the best blues guitars , of this generation I have heard. Live Long & Rock on
That old woman is so far of with that solo. Is amazing how many flagrant mistakes she makes. Playing horrible in minor over major and vice versa in a very bad way. She does that in many videos all the time. How come her partner never tells her. Doesn't she have ears ?
Maybe you could get a gig opening for Tedeschi Trucks....then when the time was just right....you could pull her aside and give her a good talking to. Sound good? Moron.
Silviu Stefan What part are you exactly talking about? because Blues is like that, mixing major and minor is very common, especially when it's a song in a major key, mixing minor gives the song that bluesy feeling, it would sound odd and bad if she put a b6 or a b2, but she plays mostly pentatonic and blues scales, so it doesn't sound out of place or anything like that
critics are my favorite people to stay away from...good music is honesty and emotion ..not a competition..
