Marcus = magnificence on a stick Josh = master Sensei Kirk = Captain of the USS Enterprise taking the blues to places no bluesman has been before...and then bringing everyone home safe and sound...
each guitarist has his own voice, and shouldn't be compared with each other! it's like comparing apples with watermelons.....each has his own awesomeness, no one is better than the other, they are all amazing and talented-, they're not trying to compete, they're all getting off on each others groove!!
The thing other than practice that makes players this good, is the constant desire to outplay their idols and competition, you know, just like in any other field of endeavor. Yes I'm a pro so I know.
robert mair I just said he needs to mature some. Be an active listetner, it's the first line of communication (which is what music is) and learning..Get over it...
Kirk, lovely classic blues style,Josh the master of taste and experience, wow what a player ,Marcus an untamed stallion of the fret board who will only balance out his technical brilliance and showmanship with a few more miles under his belt,, the future of blues in his hands,, amazing video !Thanks to the poster.
Er, I've never said this in 73 years, 60 of which were spent trying to master this instrument (I had a Gibson just like that, color and all): Thank you, Marcus King, for letting us listen to this blues masterpiece, including your amazing blues voice. You're better than Eric Clapton, a hero to me, B.B. King, a hero to every blues enthusiast, but not better than Stevie Ray Vaughn, although you could definitely hold your own with him on stage. Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Gary Moore are more rocky, less bluesy; and in their own unique path were unsurpassed; however, again, they didn't play pure blues as Marcus does here. Where is this young man going to end up? Will he surpass Stevie Ray Vaughn? What would that even sound like?
Spoken like someone who knows fuck all about blues or just a new generation wanker who is desperate to make an example of someone or something who triggers them.
No you're not. Josh is just a humble man to jam with and he talks with the power of his fingertips. But he and Kirk usually play more rhythm together with people.
DUDE ARE YOU KIDDING?? JOSH AND KIRK ARE EASILY AT THIS CAT'S. LEVEL HE JUST SINGS LIKE JANIS JOPLIN AND JOE COCKER IN ONE AND NEITHER KIRK NOR JOSH REALLY HAVE SINGING VOICES TO SPEAK OF
garrisounds disagree. I don’t think there is any straight licks in Marcus, straight soul and improv, who cares if it’s not traditional, Hendrix, SRV, we’re not traditional blues players.
@@@bubblevest1544 ""we"re not traditional blues players." Jeese, dumbass ---> proof read first before posting! Are you saying "we are...." or "were" ?????
What a masterful performance by all. 78 thumbs down shows why that feature should be done away with by UA-cam. Giving this exceedingly sublime musicianship anything other than a thumbs up is ludicrous. If you don't understand or appreciate the pinnacle of blues artistry, or blues music itself, just move on to other videos that you can relate to in a positive way.
when it come to straight electric blues... Kirk is the Numero uno! No young gun with all there notes "which I love" will ever come close to Fletcher's feel or passion for that stile of music.... He as good as there's ever been! Maybe the best ever. His Playing just floors me..... Love the other 2 lads to.. But Kirk is king of the Blues! I think most of his colleagues who know what there talking about would agree.. Josh & Marcus are the 2 best blues fusion players i'v ever heard after E.G & J.B.
When Marcus plays a solo, it seems his brain is like a computer picking out all the most intricate and most interesting combinations of blues and jazz, simply incredible. He’s so far ahead of everyone else and with such feel.
I would give damn near anything to have been in the room for this! Wow! I have been following Josh's career since he was a teenager fronting his own band in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Sooooo much fun to watch how he has evolved over the decades. Kudos to everyone on stage,. KILLER jam!
Holy crap! Awesome solos by all, including Marcus King. Not what I was expecting. And the voice - whoooaaaa! He sounds like an extra soulful version of Gregg Allman or something. Really impressive. Definitely keeping my eye on this young guy!
I love this video - Marcus has an incredible voice. The guitar playing is just a bonus for me! To share the stage with Josh and Kirk is amazing. Some real talent on that stage!
Josh's mastery of an impressive range of musical styles gives him a HUGE musical vocabulary which puts his blues playing in an altogether different league - and that's NOT meant to take anything away from these other guys, who also make the short list of present-day Blues Geniuses!
Who is the best...? who is the badest..? this is the crap our children are learning.. Markus it´s just what he is!! And sounds amazing in his style Richard Luis Regards
All great players....Marcus' guitar time sounds like Derek trucks in the this video if you close your eyes. Such a great performance by all of them. Beautiful.
Scumbag Solaire 0 seconds ago One of the performances that introduced me to Kirk. He's got such a hold on the blues, and he's a wonderfully humble man. Thanks for another banger, Anitra!
The New Blood representing the Blues that Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, BBKing, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, Johnny Winter, Roy Buchanan left us, Rory Gallagher among so many already gone 🎸🎹🥁🎶
If I won the lottery, these 3 along with Derek Trucks and Henrik Freishlader would be headlining a concert in my back garden.
man if you dont like the blues then you just dont get it and never will
man that solo ripped my face off. ive had to book in for some plastic surgery next week
Marcus = magnificence on a stick
Josh = master Sensei
Kirk = Captain of the USS Enterprise taking the blues to places no bluesman has been before...and then bringing everyone home safe and sound...
Your assessment of Kirk made me laugh!!

Hippie
Watermelons are better
Huge fan of all 3 players. Once again Josh never disappoints!
These guys are the cream of the crop.. best example of what the blues can be on stage today.
Mostly blues but heads into jazz territory occasionally.
@@bobdillon1138 probably what your hearing is the mix of major and minor sounds jazzy sometimes. marcus does it wonderfully
B.B., Albert, Freddie, Markus…the King's line of greatness continues.
King Fish also plays and sings beautiful...
@@TheEddiez06 I was gonna say the same thing...somethin bout them kings🤯
dont forget Kyngwie
I'm changing my name! 🤣
This one is BaBy King
This is music. This is blues. All done by true musicians . listen, and learn . Awesome music.
Learn yourself arsehole
Really?
Marcus sings from his music soul
Holy shit, the future is safe with this kid.... thanks so much for posting. Wow!
good analysis
Stephan Bennett Kid needs to slow down on his solo..You can tell hrs not a mature player like the other fellas on stage. His phrasing was horrible.
'Guys you guys aren't ready for that yet...but your kids are gonna love it.'
robert mair I just said he needs to mature some. Be an active listetner, it's the first line of communication (which is what music is) and learning..Get over it...
deepsnowgoodtimes I agree..
Josh just lurking in the background doing his thing and then BAM, get some of that!
The blues does something to my soul that I can never put it into words. It feels so damn good.
Kirk Fletcher is so badass.

Josh seems to be one of the few players out there where every note seems to matter. There is no filler. Just notes that bend your soul!
Spoken like someone who knows fuck all about blues or just a new generation wanker who is desperate to make an example of someone or something who triggers them.
Am I the only one here who thinks Josh Smith´s solo was the smoking one!? What a solo!! Jayz!
No you're not. Josh is just a humble man to jam with and he talks with the power of his fingertips. But he and Kirk usually play more rhythm together with people.

wait...i dont think i was trying to derogate any of em...they all sound amazing to me...ahaha u misunderstood me dude.

Is surprises me every time how great Kirk is and even more so, under appreciated.

5:50 Mr smooth Jack Pearson sippin on his cup feelin it with the boys, these guys are just pure soul, such an inspiration.

Well Said !!
Nobody is way ahead of anyone on that stage. You cats are missing it ! You just need to sit down, watch and listen. These fellas are blues insurance.
I wish I could give that 15 thumbs up, i think the 71 people who gave it a down thumb were ignorant techno fans
And a new blues legend is born.
EnFuego Plays yes indeed 😈
Marcus King!!! Part of the KING BLUES OF GREATNESS!!!! B.B, FREDDY, & ALBERT are just smiling!!!!!!
I would give damn near anything to have been in the room for this! Wow! I have been following Josh's career since he was a teenager fronting his own band in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Sooooo much fun to watch how he has evolved over the decades. Kudos to everyone on stage,. KILLER jam!
